Becoming Secret Nanny for Possessive CEO-Chapter 30: Is Callum Like That Woman?

Chapter 30

Chapter 30: Chapter 30: Is Callum Like That Woman?
Edith decided against asking Erdin further about Callum’s illness after witnessing a fragment of the memory showing her kissing a man. As usual, she couldn’t see the man’s face clearly, but she could clearly see Cliff’s face. Was this a sign that Cliff wasn’t her true love? What made her curious was who the man she was kissing was? Did that man’s body and height really resemble Callum?
Thanks to the memory fragment returning to her at just the right moment, she grew increasingly suspicious of Cliff. Had he been approaching her for some ulterior motive? Why was he becoming increasingly suspicious? Should she start to be wary of him?
Meanwhile, Erdin was confused about what his mother was thinking. He waved his tiny hand right in front of her face.
"Mom, what’s wrong?"
Edith immediately hugged her twins with tears in her eyes. "I will definitely protect your father. I don’t want your father to be in danger again."
"Actually, daddy has never been looking for any woman to marry. He’s always complained about this one woman who keeps bothering him."
Hearing that another woman had been eyeing Callum all this time, her body immediately flared with jealousy. She had always considered Callum a friend, but now that another woman was eyeing him, she was furious. She flipped her shirt collar nimbly.
"Who is that woman? Do you like her, Erdin?"
"No. I really hate her. She always makes Dad angry. Dad always says she’s a nuisance."
Edith was very relieved to hear this. It meant that what Callum had said was actually true. She was a little worried that Callum would lie to her to win her heart. Seeing Callum always being himself made her love him even more.
"Mom, please protect daddy from that witch," Erdin whined with a pleading look.
Edith burst out laughing when she heard Erdin call the stranger woman a witch. "Why do you call her a witch? Has that woman ever made you cry?"
"No. But she always makes dad angry."
Edith cradled her son’s tiny body. "I will definitely protect your father from the witches who want to kidnap him. I would also be furious if he had to marry another woman. Even though I’ve never confessed my feelings to him, I already consider him a special man."

In a five-star hotel building, Callum entered his office on the top floor, which was the CEO’s office. He sat down on the sofa for a moment to catch his breath before returning to work. He was very happy and relieved that his girlfriend had finally agreed to accompany him to the masquerade ball. He was increasingly impatient to attend the ball, even though he had previously wanted to decline the VIP invitation. In fact, he was very sick of being matched with anyone, including the scheming woman who kept clinging to him like a leech.
Luckily, Edith told him what had happened all day that had been making her so depressed. Now he didn’t have to worry about anything anymore, even though there was a small chance she would still want to marry Cliff and have his twins. He actually regretted making such a foolish suggestion that had left Edith in such doubt.
Luckily, he still had all the photos from when they were dating five years ago. Whenever he missed his beloved, he’d always look at them, which would lift his spirits.
tok...tok...
Suddenly, someone knocked on the door, forcing him to act professionally to greet the uninvited guest. He didn’t have any appointments for the day. So, who could it be?
Seeing the figure of the sly woman he hated so much, he immediately threw his face away in annoyance while loosening the tie around his neck. In an instant his mood turned bad.
"What’s the matter with you suddenly coming to me? Didn’t I tell you earlier that I don’t like welcoming guests who haven’t made an appointment with me first?"
The cunning woman flashed a sarcastic smile. "Actually, I came to visit you because I wanted to discuss something important with you."
"But, I don’t want to talk to you right now. I’m very busy."
"Do you have a dance partner for the ball later?"
Callum lifted the corners of his lips arrogantly. "Of course I do."
The cunning woman’s eyes widened. "Really? Do you have a girlfriend now?"
"Have you forgotten? Many women have been eyeing me all this time. I could have chosen any one of them to be my dance partner."
"I didn’t expect you to be such a reckless man. If that woman was just using you, would you let her?"
Callum glared at his enemy. "What business of yours is it that you keep defending me? You have no right to order me around!"
The cunning woman sat down next to the handsome CEO and slowly groped his broad chest. "Of course it has something to do with me, because I’m the future mother of your son."
Callum felt like throwing up his guts at those disgusting words. "You’re so confident, saying that as if my son likes you."
"I’ll definitely win your son’s heart. Those kids can be wooed by any means. If I keep communicating with him, he’ll definitely feel comfortable with me."
"I still won’t marry you because we’ve always been incompatible. I don’t care if you’re the woman my mother arranged for me, I just want to marry the woman I love."
"You really are pathetic, Callum. You’re still after the woman who betrayed you."
"If you dare to insinuate anything, I won’t forgive you. I also want to tell my mother that I’m sick of this arranged marriage."
The woman still wouldn’t stay still. She sat on his lap, her legs wrapped around his waist. Her arms wrapped around his neck as she stared intently at the handsome man.
"I just wanted you to be my dance partner later. Why do you hate me now?"
Suddenly, Edith entered the room with a glare. She could clearly see Callum kissing another woman dressed even sexier than her.
