Chapter 27: More Attention He Gave To Him
After a long day of helping Grandma at the restaurant, they went home when it was already dark, taking the train like before. On the way, Arcane checked his phone to see if there were any announcements or messages related to work.
While he was checking his emails, he felt someone leaning on his shoulder. When he turned around, it was Julian, who had fallen asleep and was leaning on his shoulder without realizing it.
He looked exhausted because it was his first time working almost all day. Actually, Arcane felt a little guilty for involving Julian in this. However, the young man seemed to be enjoying it, especially since some of the customers who came seemed to be entertained when talking to him.
"You came and changed many things in my life. Sometimes I think, do I deserve all this because our relationship isn’t real," he muttered as he gently brushed Julian’s bangs from his face.
He kissed his forehead briefly, then used his left hand to hold Julian’s head so it wouldn’t fall from his shoulder. Meanwhile, his right hand was busy checking emails on his cell phone again.
That day was indeed long and tiring, but for Julian, who enjoyed meeting many people, it could be very enjoyable for him.

A few days later, Julian and Arcane’s relationship grew even closer, and they almost forgot about their contract marriage. They were like two men living together, filled with happiness between them.
Julian, who had begun to realize his feelings for Arcane, started to wonder if the man felt the same way about him or if all he had been doing was fulfilling his role as a husband.
Even though he was aware of his own feelings, Julian didn’t have the courage to tell Arcane. He was worried that the man would feel uncomfortable and that it would ruin their agreement.
’I don’t want everything to end quickly. It’s better if I keep it to myself for now and everything goes well as if nothing happened as long as I can stay close to him,’ he thought at that moment.
They went about their activities as usual, but Julian seemed busier than usual. He spent more time drawing, honing the skills he had acquired at university.
Arcane, who had just finished washing the dishes, sat next to Julian, who was drawing in the living room.
"Lately, you seem to be really busy drawing. Usually, you’re always playing that game," he said.
"Oh, I’m practicing my skills because I just got a job!" he replied.
He was a little surprised when he heard this, because Julian had never mentioned anything about getting a job before.
Julian admitted that he wanted to surprise him. But he was afraid he would have to tell Arcane about it so there would be no misunderstanding.
"What misunderstanding do you mean? And where did you start working?"
"Not far from here! Besides, it’s only a part-time job, so I don’t go to work all the time. At least it fills my free time," he replied.
Knowing that he had gotten a job, Arcane felt that it was a good thing and that it was indeed better that way. It was better than Julian just spending his time at home playing games.
The next day, as usual, when school was out, Arcane tidied up the items on his desk to make it look neater, and tomorrow he would continue grading his students’ books.
Not long after, Kyle came and sat in the chair right next to him. He looks so tired.
"Are you going home?" he asked.
"Of course, I have nothing else to do at school after school. So it’s better for me to just go home," replied Arcane as he picked up his work bag.
Unlike Kyle, the man still had to teach an extracurricular language class that usually involved writing poetry and other language-related activities. Arcane didn’t teach any extracurricular classes, but he had heard that there would be an extracurricular math class.
It was deliberately created so that students who were not very good at math could get extra classes.
That meant he might come home late.
"Mr. Julian is very lucky, you get to spend a lot of time with him." Kyle smiled as he said this.
Arcane could only chuckle. "Maybe he feels that way or is tired of seeing me all the time."
"There’s no way he’s tired of you. Arcane is a good and caring husband, I’m sure Mr. Julian enjoys being with you."
Those words were enough to make Arcane think for a moment. Did he seem caring towards Julian? Or was he just doing what he usually did with those closest to him?
But for now, he would choose to think about it first. He didn’t feel anything more than what he was doing, but if other people thought so...
"Well, I have to go. Good luck with your language class," said Arcane, patting Kyle on the shoulder.
His words made Kyle smile, feeling his tired lift after a day of teaching and having to teach an extra language class in the extracurricular program.
Arcane then left the teachers’ room, heading toward the school’s main entrance. In the hallway, several students greeted him in the afternoon and said they’d see him again tomorrow in the next class.
Of course, outside of class hours, he would be friendly to them by greeting them back.
As he walked toward the school gate, he saw a familiar figure in the distance, someone she recognized. A man with green hair carrying a bag on his shoulder was walking toward the school.
"Why do I feel like he looks so much like Julian? But what is Julian doing at this school?"
As the figure got closer and closer, it turned out that his suspicion was correct. It was his own husband. Without thinking twice, Arcane immediately walked up to him with a curious look on his face.
"What are you doing here? You can’t just come in here," he asked.
"Oh, I’m not entering without permission! I’m here because I have my own business!" Julian replied with a smile.
"Your own business?"
Julian then reminded him of their conversation last night about the part-time job he got. It turned out that he was accepted to be a temporary teacher for the art extracurricular activity.
This reminded Arcane that the art teacher at the school was on extended leave, which had caused classes to be suspended. He also remembered seeing a notice on the bulletin board about the school looking for a temporary art teacher.
"So you’re going to..."
Julian nodded and winked.
"Yes, I’m going to come and teach here just like you!"
