Chapter 28: Julian First Class
Julian entered his new class, where he would only teach for two hours, two to three days a week. Actually, he himself felt a little hesitant to do it because he didn’t know how to teach.
However, he tried to pluck up his courage to try something new.
"Hello everyone, my name is Julian..." He paused for a moment. Should he introduce himself as Romano or his real name, Thorne?
Just as he was about to open his mouth again, one of the students recognized him. "Aren’t you Mr. Romano’s husband?"
"Huh? Oh yes, I am Arcane Romano’s husband. You can call me Julian. It would be confusing to have two Mr. Romanos here, right?"
They nodded in agreement and began the lesson for that class.
From the doorway, Arcane quietly watched inside the room. He observed how Julian taught the class. He admitted that what Julian was doing was quite good, especially since he was easy to get along with anyone.
Although he still seemed to have difficulty explaining what he was writing on the whiteboard.
’They seem to be enjoying it. I don’t think he’ll cause any major problems while teaching here. Besides, he won’t be coming every day,’ he thought.
As he was watching inside, he was startled by the arrival of the principal, who wanted to check on Julian’s teaching methods.
"Are you worried about him?" he asked.
"Me? I’m just curious. He doesn’t have the basics to be a teacher. That’s why I thought I’d see how he handles this," replied Arcane.
"Yes. At first, I also had my doubts about it. But I believe I can rely on him to be a temporary substitute teacher for this activity," replied Donald.
The middle aged man noticed Arcane staring intently at Julian, as if he couldn’t take his eyes off him.
"When he came to the school to deliver a flash drive to you, we met. Then he said he wanted to try being a substitute teacher," said the man again.
"I see. He didn’t say anything to me before."
Donald explained that Julian wanted to make Arcane proud by getting a job. All this time, it was always Arcane who worked while Julian stayed at home.
Even though Arcane had tried to help him find a job, there was still nothing suitable for him. And now Julian had managed to get a job, even if it was only temporary.
"He’s a good and enthusiastic young man. You must be happy to be with him," said Donald, patting Arcane on the back.
That pat on the back made him feel something, not about Julian, but about the principal. Something Arcane had long thought he would never get from him.
Donald then left, leaving Arcane standing in front of the classroom. The red haired man continued to watch him, his eyes narrowing as if he wanted to know more about the principal who secretly had something Arcane needed.
"Maybe not now. But someday you’ll understand why I did all this."
He glanced briefly into the classroom, making sure Julian was teaching well, then left the school to go home first.
After class, the students approached him and thanked him. Some of them even invited him to chat.
"What is Mr. Romano like at home? Is he still very strict sometimes? Or..."
"Hm... Arcane at home is like a normal man? I mean, he laughs sometimes and... He’s like a normal person," Julian replied, confused about how to answer.
"Is he the romantic type? He must seem strict on the outside. But really..."
The girls giggled, imagining what Arcane was like when he was alone with Julian.
Julian himself was silent for a moment, remembering what Arcane was like. He didn’t know if what the man did to him could be considered romantic or not.
"Hmm... Every day he always cooks for me. He rubs my head when I’m sad, even takes me out when I’m bored. He smiles at me, listens to everything I say," Julian replied with a smile on his face as he remembered all that.
His heart was pounding as he said all those things. The girls giggled again when they heard it. It felt so sweet between Arcane and Julian.
Until one of them asked a question that made him too embarrassed to answer.
"What is Mr. Romano like in bed?" asked the girl.
The other girls immediately laughed when they heard it, some were curious and others shook their heads because they felt it was rude to ask.
Julian’s face immediately turned red upon hearing the question. He immediately panicked, remembering when he had slept on top of Arcane a few weeks ago.
"I-I can’t answer that! It’s inappropriate to ask!" he said, stuttering slightly.
They laughed again, and the girl who had asked the question said she was just joking. This made Julian feel relieved. On his first day of work, he was able to easily get along with them.
"Alright, alright, it’s already 6:12 PM. Time to go home, your parents are waiting for you at home. See you again the day after tomorrow!"
That evening during dinner, Arcane tried to bring up the subject. He wanted to know how Julian felt on his first day of teaching at the school.
"I’m just an extracurricular teacher. It’s not as demanding as being a regular teacher, and it’s not like you have to teach. I just ask them to draw a picture. If they make a mistake or don’t understand how to do it, I explain it to them," he replied.
"I know that. But I think you’re off to a good start. Maybe with this experience, you can get a better job."
Arcane then placed Julian’s favorite chicken cream soup on the table, which made the young man happy. He deliberately made it to celebrate Julian’s first job, even though it was only part-time.
"Eat up, you must be hungry after teaching earlier," he said.
"Actually, I’m not the only one teaching, you did it from morning to afternoon," said Julian happily, then spooned the cream soup.
He looked so happy enjoying the cream soup made by his husband. His first day at work felt very sweet, especially since his students were also nice to him.
"This is the best day ever!"
However, he suddenly remembered one of his students’ questions about Arcane while they were in bed. He had told him about it to see his reaction.
"So what did you say to her? You didn’t answer with anything strange, did you? They’re still teenagers," Arcane said.
"Of course not! I said I couldn’t answer that. Besides... We’ve never done anything like that..." Julian replied, lowering his voice at the end of the sentence.
Since no one spoke at that moment, only the ticking of the wall clock and the dripping water in the sink could be heard.
Until Arcane smirked at him.
"Do you want to make love to me, my husband?"
