Chapter 80: Chapter 80: The Child’s Biological Father
Cole Hawke paused, giving Elara Don a deep glance before saying with a smile, "Elly, you once helped me, and I’ve always remembered that. So I’ve been thinking that should I meet you one day, I’d definitely repay you well. I mean nothing else by it; you can think of me as your big brother. Is it too much for a big brother to take care of his sister?"
What a distant attitude!
She wasn’t like those other women outside who threw themselves at him just because he had money and status.
This made him appreciate her even more.
Hearing Cole Hawke’s words, then seeing the smile in his eyes, Elara Don’s face showed a slight blush.
She felt that she had become too paranoid because of Damon Hawke.
"I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to overthink. I just couldn’t help it for a moment."
She was giving herself too much credit!
Did she really think she was stunningly beautiful and loved by all?
She was going to be laughed at!
"Elly is genuine, and I like that."
Cole Hawke chuckled softly, and seeing the puzzled look in Elara Don’s eyes, added, "The kind of like a brother has for his sister."
He couldn’t let her resist his approach.
It had to be done gradually!
"Hurry up and eat."
Elara Don sighed in relief and instantly felt at ease.
Cole Hawke curled his lips into a smile and ate slowly. Suddenly, he asked, "Elly, you mentioned you had a boyfriend earlier? Who is it? Do I know him?"
This...
Elara Don paused with her chopsticks, glanced at him, and her gaze flickered slightly, "You probably don’t know him; my boyfriend is my son’s biological father."
Cole Hawke was part of the Hawthorne, and she was afraid Damon Hawke might use him to inquire about her affairs.
Might as well let them think that.
"Your son’s biological father? A child does need a normal family."
Cole Hawke’s eyes flickered, "What does he do for work? I guess you don’t really like him, do you? You must have chosen him as your boyfriend for your son’s sake?"
Hearing this, Elara Don smiled and said nothing.
This was just her excuse, let him think whatever he wants.
"Elly, don’t wrong yourself. If you consider me a big brother, talk to me about your situation with him. If I can help, I definitely will."
Cole Hawke softened his tone, placed the deboned fish in her bowl, and gently urged her.
Elara Don felt somewhat touched, poking at the rice in her bowl, she said blandly, "Four years ago, I was set up by Ivy, and spent a night with him, which resulted in me becoming pregnant with twins. At that time, I didn’t get a good look at his face, but I remembered his scent, and that he had a plum blossom birthmark on his chest. Recently, I ran into him and recognized him. For the sake of the kids, I decided to be with him."
The last part was false, but that’s all she could say.
Cole Hawke listened attentively, and a dark light flickered in his eyes.
Elara Don was pregnant with twins!
He remembered Damon Hawke did have a plum blossom birthmark on his chest.
Thus, he was certain that Elara Don’s son and the family’s Dominic Hawke were both her and Damon Hawke’s children!
But it seemed she didn’t know that Damon Hawke was the man from four years ago!
She even claimed to have met the children’s biological father!
What on earth was going on?
"Elly, if he’s not good to you and the child, give me a call, and I’ll stand up for you."
Cole Hawke said.
There’s no rush, he’ll figure out the situation!
"Thank you, Arthur!"
Elara Don smiled gratefully, feeling that Cole Hawke was really too good to her.
CEO’s office.
Damon Hawke looked at the little one Rhun Quinn had brought in and asked, slightly surprised, "What brings you here?"
Bea’s bright eyes darted around, "I came to find Aunt Charlotte! I miss her, where is she?"
Looking for Elara Don?
This child, once his memory was restored, immediately missed her!
Damon Hawke glanced at Rhun Quinn, who quickly replied, "Mr. Hawke, young master, it’s lunchtime now, and Miss Charlotte is probably dining in the company cafeteria."
"Ma... Is Aunt Charlotte having a meal? I’m hungry too; I want to eat in the cafeteria!"
Almost called her mommy!
Bea secretly stuck out his little tongue, turned around, and was ready to head to the cafeteria.
"Wait."
Damon Hawke put aside his work and stood up, "I’ll go with you."
"Okay."
Bea grinned, thought for a moment, and pulled out a mask to cover his delicate features.
Damon Hawke gave him a glance and narrowed his dark eyes.
He didn’t know why, but the little guy at this moment looked so much like another child.
"Hurry up, Dad."
Bea couldn’t wait, ran over to his side, held his hand, and urged him.
Damon Hawke snapped out of it, shaking off that bit of strangeness, scooped him up, and left the CEO’s office.
Cafeteria.
Elara Don and Cole Hawke were having their meal.
"Look quickly, the CEO is here!"
"Yes, and he’s holding young Mr. Hawke!"
"Wow, Mr. Hawke is so handsome and loving, isn’t he?"
"..."
The employees’ exclamations echoed in the background.
Elara Don froze for an instant before looking up.
Not far away, a man, holding a little child, walked through the cafeteria doors.
His tall figure exuded a hint of stability and, because he was holding his son, an unusual touch of warmth surrounded his noble aura.
Handsome, truly handsome!
Elara Don’s heart skipped a beat, and upon meeting the man’s sweeping gaze, she quickly looked away.
Why did he bring Charlie to the company cafeteria?
Was Charlie alright?
Should she go over and greet them?
While she was daydreaming, Cole Hawke’s voice sounded in her ear.
"Uncle is coming over with Charlie."
Damon Hawke was approaching?
Elara Don pursed her lips, and when she looked up again, Damon Hawke had already approached her table, holding the little one.
"Uhm, Aunt Charlotte!"
Bea barely swallowed the word mommy at the last moment, wiggled his way down from Damon Hawke’s arms, and rushed toward Elara Don.
Elara Don quickly caught him, a gentle smile gracing her face.
"Charlie, are you alright!"
The little guy was finally alright!
She felt a weight lift off her heart!
Bea snuggled against his mommy’s familiar scent, rubbing his little head contentedly.
"Well, it’s no big deal, just that my head still aches sometimes."
"Oh? Does your head still hurt?"
Elara Don was startled, gently touching the little one’s head with worry.
"Yeah, because I miss you!"
Elara Don: "..."
Was this child flirting with her?
Just now, the way he spoke, why did it remind her so much of her own son?
"Ha! Charlie, I noticed that since you fell, you’ve become more interesting! Damon, your son is going to be a master at charming girls in the future!"
Cole Hawke saw the hint of doubt in Elara Don’s eyes as she looked at the little one and jokingly raised his eyebrows.
Damon Hawke said nothing, sitting beside Cole Hawke, his deep black eyes on Elara Don’s face, holding a hint of contemplation.
Since earlier, her gaze hadn’t truly met his.
But he wasn’t in a rush because the little one was here.
