Even If I’m Reborn as a Cute Dragon Girl, I Will Still Make a Harem-Book 6: Chapter 90: Ultimate Truth

Book 6: Chapter 90: Ultimate Truth
“Tell me, Gerald… Who else could it be, if not me? You?”
The Dragon Queen sneered before continuing, “You? The one who pushed everything into the abyss of destruction? Don’t make me laugh. Of all my regrets in the last nine million years, not killing you easily ranks in the top three!”
“GAAAAAAAAAH!”
Gerald of the Dragon Clan let out a pained scream.
The moment the Dragon Queen erupted in fury, the weight of countless worlds came crashing down on him.
He had no choice but to flatten himself against the ground, or else the unbearable pressure would have crushed every bone in his body.
Despite the agonizing pain, Gerald shouted, “Rega—Your Majesty! Didn’t I tell you nine million years ago? Only the Dragon Eater’s power can ensure the revival of our people! You know that power better than anyone! Once you master it, the revival of the dragons is guaranteed—no, we could rise even higher, to the very peak of the Great World’s hierarchy!”
“We’re so close! We’re this close to success! Once that girl reincarnates one last time, she’ll fully adapt to the Dragon Eater’s body. At that point, its power will be completely ours!” he yelled.
“Gerald, you—!” The Thoughtless Deity Lord, who had been silently watching, was stunned.
She had known Gerald for eons, had dealt with him countless times. But she had never seen him like this. Not this… unhinged.
And what he’d just said…
“That noble, righteous image… was all an act, Gerald of the Dragon Clan?!” the Thoughtless Deity Lord asked.
There was no answer.
“Yes… I know the power of the Dragon Eater better than anyone. But precisely because of that, I know that such power brings only destruction, not salvation. So even if I were to master that power… what then? What could I actually save?”
She lowered her head, stroking her skeletal arm. Her eyes seemed to look beyond space and time, into that slaughter from nine million years ago.
It had been her most frustrating battle ever since she was crowned as the strongest in the Great World.
Her opponent had fought like a child, striking wildly without finesse. And yet… there was nothing she could do to stop him.
Black flame. Black liquid. Black crystal. Each power had flaws on its own. But when combined… they were impenetrable.
She had sacrificed the flesh of her arm and still had only barely managed to *repel* it.
That was when she understood the nature of that power.
It was pure destruction—a power birthed from countless deaths and regrets, a malignant force bent on sowing despair until all things returned to nothing.
“That thing can’t save anyone. It can’t bring anyone back,” she said softly, her gaze falling to the ground.
For the first time, she let her sorrow show openly.
“I’ve known this… for nine million years.”
“…What?” Gerald froze. “If you knew that, then why did you agree to my plan nine million years ago?”
The Queen of Dragons was quiet for a long time. Then she answered, “Because I was a coward.”
All Gerald and the Thoughtless Deity Lord, who had been watching from the side, could feel was a rising absurdity.
*Because she was a coward?*
*Coward?*
*Did the Dragon Queen just say she was a coward?*
*Is she joking?*
From the moment she first stepped onto the battlefield, she had carved her path through blood and slaughter. With nothing but her fists, she rose to become invincible across the Three Thousand Great World.
This was the same Dragon Queen who had once wiped out an entire race for daring to offend her. Rivers of blood flowed, and not once did her brow furrow.
In this life, the Dragon Queen had broken more bones than she’d cared to count—and the only gatherings she frequented were other people’s funerals.
And yet she called herself a coward?
If this had happened nine million years ago, it would’ve easily won “joke of the year”.
But given the current circumstances, it was hard to believe even the Dragon Queen would crack a joke just to lighten the mood.
“Nine million years ago, when I found you and uncovered the truth, I wanted to kill you. I truly did. But at the very last moment… I hesitated. I was scared because I realized… if I killed you, I’d be the last dragon left in this world.”
The Dragon Queen’s voice was measured, almost emotionless, despite delivering what might be the saddest confession in the world.
“The thought of living forever in this world, completely alone terrified me. So much that it overpowered every ounce of rage I had held inside me.”
She looked up, her gaze steady as it met Gerald’s. And in that moment, her fury was gone, replaced by a chilling stillness.
“And after your narrow escape, you revealed your plan to me. The moment I heard it, I understood exactly what you were trying to do. You never truly intended to revive the dragons because you knew they were gone for good, and nothing you did could change that.
What you wanted was the Dragon Eater’s power, but you couldn’t just seize it. So you created your little scheme!
I had no intention of going along with it. But then… you spoke of that dream. The world you said could be built, and that tempted me.
It’s pathetic, really. I, who never borrowed power from anyone… I, who never once believed in illusions, ended up being trapped in a sweet dream I couldn’t let go of.
And so, everything that happened to the soul once called ‘Tadashi’ and now ‘Lilith’, can be traced back to that moment.
Long ago, Gerald had wandered the Great World and stumbled upon a young girl from another world. She had existed for ages but remained as innocent as a child. She was curious about everything, yet incapable of speaking the local language. Her naivety caused countless trouble, and Gerald was intrigued.
He easily earned the girl’s trust and taught her the language, script, and customs of this world. And as they traveled, she gradually developed feelings for him—feelings that were far more than friendship.
At first, Gerald hadn’t meant harm. It was just his nature. He was a dragon, after all—fickle, impulsive. The girl was beautiful, and he had done that kind of thing more times than he could count in his long life.
She was simply meant to be another lovely flower in his vast garden, but fate had something else in store. An accident revealed the girl’s secret. A terrifying secret.
She possessed a power capable of destroying everything. That was when Gerald’s intentions shifted.
Under his careful manipulation, the innocent girl, who trusted him with her whole heart, revealed everything. That was how Gerald discovered an interesting weakness in these monsters, which possessed terrifying power…
These monsters, who were capable of ending the world, had souls as delicate and defenseless as any human’s.”

#Author’s Note:#
P.S. Originally, I had considered telling this part as a full short story, but then I realized… it’s not that deep. It’s just an uncle luring an innocent girl with a lollipop.
P.P.S. To the girls reading this, please protect yourselves out there. Don’t trust older men.
