Lin Ye actively jumped into the water pit.
He wanted to test whether he could pass over the water pit from above.
The results were terrible - as he passed over the pit, numerous red blood threads entangled his body and dragged him down into the water.
The pit was extremely deep, with no visible bottom.
Shortly after sinking in, he completely lost consciousness. Before blacking out, he faintly sensed something wriggling inside his body.
'I need to first close the door near the water pit before dealing with the All-Mouth Monster.'
'But to pass the door, I'll need help from the many-mouthed monster on the other side.'
'But what about the return trip?'
'Meaning I'll need to lure another many-mouthed monster to this side as a stepping stone.'
Lin Ye exited the cell at precisely the right moment. He continuously recalled each monster's appearance timing and key moments, eventually planning out every step of this simulation.
First step remained obtaining the pistol.
Then he needed to lure a severely injured many-mouthed monster near the water pit - this process had to be fast enough to coordinate with the monster on the pit's opposite side.
Additionally, attracting the monster required extreme caution - keeping it chasing but not catching him, while also not killing it.
Having planned each step, Lin Ye encountered his first many-mouthed monster.
"Come on, buddy, I need your help."
Lin Ye shot and directly crippled the "buddy's" right leg, then successfully led it to the water pit.
This time he arrived slightly later than during the second simulation, but fortunately the other many-mouthed monster still lingered by the pit's edge.
It stood there staring blankly into the water.
Lin Ye immediately used his skill to teleport behind it.
"Hey!"
Just as Lin Ye tried to kick it into the pit like last time, something unexpected happened - he couldn't attack the monster.
Having already closed the nearby door, Lin Ye abandoned attacking this monster and instead teleported behind "buddy," emptying his magazine to eliminate it.
Only then did he have time to observe the many-mouthed monster across the pit, whose condition looked abnormal.
Perhaps disturbed by Lin Ye's presence, numerous red blood threads grew from its body, writhing like living creatures.
Lin Ye immediately turned and fled - this thing was better left for the organization to handle.
After dealing with all monsters along the way, Lin Ye encountered the All-Mouth Monster again.
This time he didn't attempt to fight it, instead teleporting beside a many-mouthed monster that had just exited a door and closing it.
Then he quickly teleported away from the All-Mouth Monster's furious piercing attacks.
Soon after, Lin Ye encountered the overseer team securing the office area doors. After explaining the situation to the Captain, he agreed to help deal with the All-Mouth Monster.
"Captain, I can ambush that monster. Do you have anything that can penetrate its defenses?"
Lin Ye asked while leading the way.
"...Yes, but only one. And it requires close proximity," the Captain replied, locking eyes with Lin Ye.
"Let me use it then, otherwise many people might die," Lin Ye stopped walking and met the Captain's gaze calmly. He had no other way to earn trust except sincere request.
"...Fine. I'll distract it, you kill it," the Captain took out a spherical device from his coat and handed it to Lin Ye.
"But remember - I'll be watching you. Any suspicious moves and I'll personally execute you," the Captain gripped Lin Ye's right hand tightly.
"I'll remember," Lin Ye responded solemnly.
The sphere was a device that could project high-energy blades - simple and convenient, just point and press the button.
Having witnessed its power before, Lin Ye wasn't worried about penetration.
Now he needed to decide when to use it:
Immediately for fewer casualties?
Or wait until the Captain and overseers exhausted the monster's spiritual energy for higher success chance?
Risk others' lives or his own?
The answer required no deliberation.
This was simply a D-Class personnel's job.
The moment the All-Mouth Monster appeared in sight, Lin Ye teleported beneath it and pressed the button aimed at its heart.
He didn't even need to react - the monster's movements did all the work.
The high-energy blade easily pierced the All-Mouth Monster's vital spot. Ambush and frontal assault produced drastically different results.
Without even checking the outcome, Lin Ye continuously teleported to dodge the monster's final attacks - black tongues piercing every surrounding space. Without Deadly Joke's treacherously unfair advantage, he'd have been skewered.
"Seems I wasn't needed after all," the Captain helped Lin Ye up, having prepared to die here only for it to end so abruptly.
"I didn't expect it to go so smoothly either. The organization's equipment works great," Lin Ye suddenly realized item-based tactics weren't so bad.
"No, that thing only works point-blank. Getting close to anomalies usually equals suicide. Worse, it might not even work after all that," the Captain glanced disdainfully at the sphere near the corpse.
"That is a problem. Maybe making it throwable would help," Lin Ye picked up the sphere, examining its mechanisms with interest.
"You're that anomaly possessing a D-Class personnel, aren't you?" the Captain suddenly said.
"Am I that famous in the organization already?" Lin Ye frowned.
"The organization distributed your profile to all mission captains with orders to any sightings immediately. You should be careful not to get caught," the Captain warned seriously.
"Aren't you a captain too? Why warn me?" Lin Ye asked curiously.
"I don't believe all anomalies require elimination. You've been helping handle incidents, indirectly saving many lives. Until you become a threat, I won't act against you," the Captain stated solemnly.
"Thanks. If caught, what would the organization do to me?" Lin Ye continued.
"Unsure, but I suspect they'd extract your consciousness to create an anomaly-based containment tool," the Captain revealed the organization's standard approach without hesitation.
Control what you can, destroy what you can't control, and only negotiate or isolate as last resorts.
"How hospitable... Time to wrap up this incident," Lin Ye didn't elaborate further. This outcome was expected - he'd never deluded himself about coexisting peacefully with the organization.

Lin Ye climbed out of bed. The Jester Doll was already gone.
He had to admit - he'd underestimated this card entity before.
