Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator-Chapter 75: Signing the Contract

Chapter 75

"...What is there to discuss? I'm not a psychiatrist."
Lin Ye didn't think he could have any common topics with the patients here.
"You don't need professional knowledge. Since you're not a patient here, she just needs a normal person to talk with."
Isabella didn't explain much.
"Do I have to go alone?"
After the last simulation, Lin Ye really didn't want to approach that floor now.
"I can't accompany you, and I don't recommend you interact too much with the patients here."
Isabella said.
"Alright, what after the conversation? Anything else I need to do?"
Lin Ye unfolded the map, which showed an extremely complicated route.
"Nothing else. You can return directly to the director's office afterward."
"Then I'm going."
"Have a safe trip."
"I hope so."
Just after leaving the nurse station, Lin Ye encountered Mia standing outside.
"Something I can help with, Miss Mia?"
"I want to cooperate with you."
Seeing the map in Lin Ye's hand, Mia spoke bluntly.
"I've already made a deal with the director, and I don't like breaking agreements first."
This time Lin Ye didn't stall but responded directly.
"You'll definitely regret cooperating with that old bastard. Whatever. You're going to Ward 419, right? I'll take you there."
Mia turned toward the hall, taking a route not marked on the map, yet Lin Ye still followed her.
The director and head nurse were allies. The head nurse couldn't take him to Ward 419, but Mia could.
Lin Ye planned to cooperate with the director, but not use their provided map.
He wasn't sure if this made any difference, but it was a variable.
At worst, he'd just die one more time if something went wrong.
Mia directly led Lin Ye to the fourth floor.
The same circular corridor level he'd encountered before.
With Mia's guidance, Lin Ye reached the door of Ward 419 unusually smoothly.
"I'll leave you here. The willful princess inside doesn't like being disturbed by outsiders."
After speaking, Mia disappeared as if she never existed - like it was all Lin Ye's hallucination.
Knock knock.
Lin Ye gently rapped on the ward door.
"Come in."
A familiar voice came from inside.
Lin Ye pushed the door open. The room was clean and tidy, with ample sunlight shining on the polished floor. Outside the window was a lush, vibrant garden.
The garden bloomed with colorful flowers, among which a light blue blossom left a deep impression on Lin Ye.
On the bed lay a beautiful girl with black hair and red eyes, her smile captivating.
"I'm Kevin. And you?"
Lin Ye scratched his head irritably - he disliked this situation.
"How do you know I'm not her?"
The girl asked curiously.
"I just know. Can you read my memories? That's quite rude."
For the first time in a while, Lin Ye felt a trace of malice - different from killing intent, malice was a far more complex emotion.
"I can't. Few can read someone's memories without damaging their psyche. I merely showed you who you wanted to see. I don't know how I appear in your eyes now. Normal people might lose their minds seeing my true form, so this is my last bit of restraint."
A chair appeared beside the bed as the girl gestured for Lin Ye to sit.
"So this entire ward and the garden outside are illusions? This place looks completely different from the wards I've seen?"
Lin Ye sat down and asked.
"If you mean the physical world, then yes, they're illusions. But you're currently sitting on an illusory chair, smelling illusory flowers, seeing an illusory friend. Would you like something to eat?"
A narrow table appeared between them, covered with flattened, compressed food items.
Lin Ye picked up a cake and took a bite. The sickly-sweet cream mixed with the warm, fragrant sponge tasted no different from real cake.
"How is this possible? Why can't I do it?"
Lin Ye tried using psychic energy to materialize objects but couldn't even produce a single strand of hair.
"First you need a special environment, then powerful psychic energy and extensive practice."
The girl placed a paper covered in strange script on the table as the food disappeared.
"What's this?"
Lin Ye tried reading the text. As usual, his system translated it, but his brain couldn't comprehend the information.
"It's a contract. Just take it to the director."
The girl closed her eyes as the door opened automatically.
Lin Ye took the contract and left Ward 419.
"Got it?"
Mia suddenly appeared beside Lin Ye, eyeing the contract eagerly.
"I don't understand. Why did I have to be the one to get this contract?"
Even now, Lin Ye couldn't figure out what these mentally ill individuals wanted.
"Only you could obtain it.
This place was about to collapse. Outsiders sent Miles here to destroy everything, including disposing of him. You stabilized his consciousness, giving this asylum a chance to survive. That's why this contract could be formed."
Mia stared at the contract's text, trying to alter it with her mind, but soon gave up. As long as the asylum remained, the contract couldn't be changed.
"...So I've been trying to save this mental hospital all along?"
Lin Ye felt devastated. If he'd done nothing after arriving, could he have returned directly?
But remembering that the system hadn't counted Miles' death as mission completion, Lin Ye accepted it. He couldn't even handle minor enemies, let alone destroy the entire asylum.
"Exactly. Now, will you give me that contract?"
Mia rubbed her hands together expectantly.
"If I give it to you, can you control the asylum?"
Lin Ye pondered the simulation's completion conditions. Could maintaining abnormal stability also complete the mission?
"No, but if I take Miles, I can stabilize the North Building. The rest can go to hell."
Mia said with a cold laugh.
"Then no thanks. Could you escort me back, beautiful Miss Mia?"
Lin Ye didn't want to leave behind a mess - that definitely wouldn't complete the mission.
"Fine, but only to downstairs."
Though rejected, Mia didn't make things difficult for Lin Ye.
Lin Ye successfully brought the contract back to the director's office.
"You're finally back."
Miles stood up to greet him.
"Excellent. After signing this, you can stay here."
The director smiled as he took the contract, glanced at it, then handed it to Miles.
Miles immediately signed his name at the bottom.
Next, the director also signed beneath.
After signing, the director passed the contract to Lin Ye.
"Do I need to sign too?"
Lin Ye frowned as he took it. He disliked signing contracts without knowing their contents.
