"The Dawn Light that pierces the darkness, delivering the dawn to all beings on earth, guiding those with courage in their hearts toward the light..."
While observing his firstborn son, who was radiating divine brilliance, Noah was finalizing the holy words for his child, or more precisely, delineating the scope of his divine authority and Divine Position Domain.
Yet every word Noah spoke was an outright challenge to more than one divine being, easily provoking the hostile gaze of many divines.
"Enough, Father, that's really enough."
Seeing his father about to continue speaking, Iliad, whose scalp was tingling, hurriedly stepped forward to stop him. Even with just the holy words his father had proclaimed, he had already infringed upon the Divine Position Domain of several deities with strong divine power.
Though as a descendant of the Blazing Sky God, slightly infringing on the Divine Position Domain of those with strong divine power wouldn't be pursued—his grandfather's face still carried some weight—but doing so excessively might inevitably invite unforeseen events.
The righteous gods of Heaven are not the evil gods and divine beings of the Abyss Hell. As benevolent gods, they have hearts full of tolerance and compassion; however, as divines, defending their divine authority and Divine Position Domain is an instinct. When it comes to fundamentals, even the most even-tempered divine being will not retreat.
"Isn't this your choice? Sacredness, light, and courage, this is all according to your thoughts and requests that I have crafted the holy words for you.
Since you've already set foot on the Path of Sealing God, don't be modest now. What's the point of being so timid? How do you plan to become a deity with strong divine power with such an attitude?"
Seeing his firstborn son's demeanor, Noah was somewhat disappointed.
"Father, I have never said I wanted to become a deity with strong divine power. It's enough to raise the Divine Throne and become a divine being."
Iliad expressed that he was very satisfied, lacking strong ambition and desire.
"Would you really be willing even to be just a minor deity with weak divine power?"
"Even the weakest deity with weak divine power is a True God. What is there not to be satisfied with?"
"Should I praise your attitude, or should I reprimand you for having no ambition at all?"
Hearing his offspring's rebuttal, Noah couldn't help but sigh,
"Do you not realize the status of weak divine power among the divines? At even a moderately sized divine gathering, those with weak divine power can only be in the background, without a voice, just playing the part assigned to them."
"But I have you as my father, and my grandfather as well. No divine being would look down on me."
"That's uncertain, not to mention that once you've become a True God, do you plan to be a burden? You should take care of your younger siblings and even your nieces and nephews. You should do everything you can to grab everything you deserve, rather than just enjoying the arrangements made by me and your grandfather, as if they are your entitlement."
"... I will aim to become a deity with medium divine power."
"You should aim to become a deity with great divine power, with the pursuit of strong divine power."
"Great divine power? There hasn't been a record of any deity with great divine power appearing in our Void Realm for a long time."
Upon hearing the goal set by his father, Iliad could only respond with a wry smile.
"Before your father, I ascended to become the Dragon King; there hadn't been any epic records for quite some time. Don't just look at what predecessors have done. Consider what you can do. Just because others can't do something, does that mean you can't either? There is no such thing in this world, nor is there such a rationale."
Noah spoke earnestly. Although his words seemed to scold, his heart was still helpless. His firstborn son was excellent in every way, but because of his good nature, he was unwilling to quarrel with other divines.
Iliad was not without ambition. He just didn't want his ambition to harm the divines he knew. Due to his mother, Iliad often shuttled between Noah and Heaven.
During his activities in Heaven, due to his family background, he came to know many divines. Because of these interactions, Iliad made his choice regarding the Divinity Domain.
But now Iliad realized there were issues with his choice. To delve deeper into the domain he chose and meet Noah's expectations to become a deity with strong divine power, he would undoubtedly have to turn against the divines he knew.
Out of respect for the Blazing Sky God, the righteous gods of Heaven could hand over a small portion of their divine position to him, but the divine position that supports a deity with strong divine power is something no one can give up, unless they no longer wish to remain gods.
"I will try my best."
Faced with his father's pressure, Iliad could only respond this way.
"It's not just about trying. Your brothers and your nephews are watching you. You must give your all, to set an example for them. The graduates of Dragon Academy and the dragon-men of the Battle Group are already preaching for you; you cannot let their efforts go to waste."
Noah was not merely setting lofty goals for his firstborn but acknowledging that once an Ascender becomes a divine being, their status among the divines can be established.
The vast majority of Ascenders, even if they succeed by luck and elevate the Divine Throne, only achieve weak divine power. Reaching this point is almost a dead end, with little hope for future improvement.
Divines truly capable of further ascension, once successful in the Divine Enthronement, will at least have weak divine power. Achieving a meteoric rise to become a deity with medium divine power or even strong divine power is not without historical precedent.
The key lies in the contest for the Divinity Domain. Accumulating divinity and gathering faith are indispensable, although they are secondary conditions.
