Golden Dragon: Six Thousand Years of Empire-Chapter 941 518: Abyss Dragon Clan: Black Devouring Dragon

Chapter 941

The Abyss is the trash heap of worlds forsaken by the gods, yet it is not a land devoid of life. The Nether River, which traverses countless worlds, delivers resources imbued with endless potential to this vast wasteland—souls.
Souls not claimed by the gods ultimately find their final integration and use in the Abyss. Not a single soul is wasted, not even fragments.
However, it is precisely these soul fragments that give rise to the inexhaustible, ever-replenishing demons of the Abyss. Owing to such an origin, demons are inherently flawed and possess chaos as a natural trait from birth.
"Your Majesty, this is the best-preserved blood pool we could currently find."
A fairy, with a dragon crown already growing on her head, knelt on the ground, her words tinged with unease and guilt, for she had failed to fulfill His Majesty's command.
"You've already done very well!"
Noah, with a dragon-headed human body formed from a ray of light, cast a warm and sunny gaze, like the winter sun, over the fairies before him who were worried and anxious. After reassuring them, he turned his gaze toward the half-dry Abyss Blood Pool in front of him.
It was a blood-red lake continuously bubbling, steaming like a pot of hot soup. On the water's surface of this lake floated thousands of white worms, swaying with the ever-bursting bubbles in the viscous, blood-like liquid.
Only at the center of the blood pool could a few slightly moving worms still be seen, but their vitality was rather worrisome, and they seemed unlikely to survive for much longer, with little chance of hatching into little fiends.
This was the reason for the fairies' shame. What they found for Noah was merely a boiling blood pool, where most of the abyssal worms incubating within had already been thoroughly cooked, rendering it incapable of meeting His Majesty's expectations.
Yet, Noah could not possibly blame the fairies for it, for they had tried their best. Even within the depth levels of the Abyss currently controlled by the dragon-men, not to mention those unmonitored layers simply reachable, it was challenging to find a pool with a decent level of vitality. Indeed, this blood pool before them was already the best they could find.
The true culprit of all this was, naturally, Noah himself. It was his brief contact and battle with the Abyss Monarch that unleashed that blast of Candle Daylight, evaporating and annihilating countless Abyss Blood Pools, including the one before them, which fell within the scope of the collateral damage.
Fortunately, the scale of this blood pool was sufficient. Even though it had been mostly evaporated, what remained still maintained a certain scale. One could still observe worms with tenacious vitality writhing and struggling within it.
The Abyss Blood Pool can also be called a Demon Rebirth Pool; it can transform soul fragments sourced from the Nether River into demon eggs, hatching the lowest-grade little fiends.
Of course, there is also some possibility of nurturing higher-level demons, but this would require a special environment and adequate energy supply.
Otherwise, under normal circumstances, only little fiends are nurtured. Not to say that little fiends have no prospects—quite a few Abyss Lords have fought their way up from the very bottom of the hierarchy.
However, compared to these rising low-level demons, more little fiends perished on the path of ascension, becoming the provision and rations for other demons climbing the ranks.
Therefore, to some extent, an Abyss Rebirth Pool could be considered the foundation of the Abyss. The Abyss Monarch who once confronted and was severely wounded by Noah, might well have crawled from a blood pool initially.
Essentially, an Abyss Rebirth Pool is no different from Heaven's Angel Rebirth Pool. Both are capable of bestowing souls a brand-new form of life.
It's just that Heaven's Angel Rebirth Pool has entry thresholds. Without achieving extraordinary merits in the secular world and receiving acknowledgment for commendable behavior from benevolent races, entry into it is impossible.
Ordinary angels that emerge from the Angel Rebirth Pool naturally possess a quality far surpassing that of little fiends, albeit with far less growth potential.
At least angels cannot endlessly increase their power through endless slaughter, but demons can. Little fiends can even, through killing, rise from a low-grade fiend to an Abyss Lord capable of contending with divines in just a few years.
It sounds more fantastic than a fairy tale, but such real cases do exist. However, Abyss Lords that ascend rapidly, tend to fall quickly as well. Yet, there are exceptions, and given the sheer number of candidates in the Abyss, nearly any scenario is possible.
Word Spirit·Emperor
Gazing at the boiling blood pool before him, Noah remained wordless, wielding his authority to pour a surging torrent of faith power into it, transforming this blood pool.
According to Noah's past understanding of the Dragon King, a Dragon King possesses creativeness that transcends divines and mundane realms, capable of establishing entirely new branches of dragon species, leaving legacies across all worlds.
However, this perception is not entirely accurate or is rather incomplete. While a Dragon King can indeed create new dragon species, a Dragon King does not necessarily have the capability to create entirely new dragon clans.
Take Noah for instance; he currently lacks the capability to independently create a new dragon clan, although he holds this potential and possesses the qualification.
Yet, this endeavor isn't without shortcuts. The current scenario presents just such a shortcut—modifying the Abyss Blood Pool through the power of faith, transforming it into a Dragon Transformation Pool, thereby reflecting the Dragon King's authority over creation.
