Golden Dragon: Six Thousand Years of Empire-Chapter 942 518: Abyss Dragon Clan: Black Devouring Dragon_2

Chapter 942

But whether it can truly succeed still needs verification, because essentially it's harnessing the power of the Abyss, and anything that peeks into the Abyss will eventually be consumed by it.
Under the power of Word Spirit·Emperor, the few lucky worms barely surviving in the Abyss Blood Pool suddenly became active. Under the intervention and influence of the supreme force, these worms, once plump and white, began to slenderize, as if they were evolving from worms into snakes.
Tiny scales appeared on the skins of these worms. These toothy flesh worms opened their bloody mouths to devour the carcasses of their comrades, scalded to death by high temperatures, driven by instinctive urges.
These flesh worms, each less than half a meter, displayed astonishing appetite. Under the watchful eyes of many Dragon Elves, the mere five worms cleared all the remains of their kind in the Blood Pool in less than half a day.
At the cost of these comrades' remains, five worms, or fat snakes, whose bodies grew golden-patterned white scales and a small single horn on their heads, had grown to six meters.
With such size, they could dominate in the forests of the Material Realm; even in the Abyss, they could hold their ground among mid to low-level demons.
However, after reaching this stage of growth, these worms clearly hit a bottleneck. Not only are there no resources for them to continue eating, but their current form also isn't suitable for further growth.
Therefore, driven by some instinct, the five worms spewed white silk from their fanged mouths, and amidst everyone's watchful gaze, they began to cocoon.
Metamorphic development, also known as metamorphic evolution, shortened the time for these five worms' feeding and transformation by dozens of times under the infusion of the Power of Faith from Noah. Changes occurred at a speed visible to the naked eye.
The boiling Blood Pool no longer bubbled; furthermore, the faint stench and toxic gas that it emitted gradually vanished, and the pool's red water turned from sticky to clear.
The source and transformation of all this came from the five cocoons floating in the pool. Their devouring altered the extraordinary characteristics of this Blood Pool.
"Your Highness, are they purifying the Blood Pool?"
Sifreya, the Dragon Fairy King serving beside Noah's avatar, noticed something peculiar and spoke uncertainly.
"Yes, I hope they develop the ability to purify the Abyss's environment."
Purification naturally means devouring; nothing is created or vanishes out of thin air, only transformed or decomposed. To remove the harmful substances from the Abyss environment, a species that feeds on these materials needs to be created.
With just such a brief exchange, each of the five giant cocoons floating in the blood-red water started to stir. Under the catalytic effect of the Power of Faith, their life forms fully transformed. When a claw tore through one of the cocoons, the creature nurtured within it was revealed in its true form.
A dragon emerged, slender in build, its body length with the tail reaching just under six meters—a Poison Dragon, appearing even smaller than the wilderness Flying Dragons of the Material World.
But unlike those bipeds with two wings, which can only be considered oversized beasts to some extent, the creatures tearing through the cocoons of these Abyss worms boasted the classic four-legged, two-winged Dragon Clan frame.
The drawback is the small size of these dragons, and their figures are too slender, like four-legged venomous snakes with wings.
Perhaps because they devoured all the toxic elements in the Abyss Blood Pool, they now lack anything associated with white. Instead, they possess ominously colored purple-black scales, with only fleeting gold patterns visible on some scale edges.
"Sss~ Roar!"
Having completed their transformation and gained new life, the five small Poison Dragons were no longer the muddled creatures they were as worms. When they reopened their eyes to observe this part of the Abyss Interface, so different from the legacy in their memories, and especially when they saw the beings standing at the pool's edge overlooking them, they made the best choice.
"O supreme lord, thank you for granting us life!"
"We are willing to do anything for you."
Even newborn low-level demons in the Abyss possess intelligence akin to the Wisdom Species of the Material World, though they usually can't use it because chaos is the norm, preventing them from thinking clearly.
However, these five Poison Dragons, birthed by exhausting the blood pool's resources, are clearly not comparable to ordinary low-level demons. At the very least, they have normal consciousness unaffected by their inherently chaotic nature.
"Come!"
Noah extended his hand, summoning the five Poison Dragons who were greatly influenced by his power at birth. These dragons complied obediently, flying to Noah, bowing with their heads lowered, not daring to lift them too high.
In their perception, any of the attendants beside this existence before them could easily kill them, leaving them with no room for resistance.
"Not bad, at least you're not foolish!"
Seeing the subdued posture of these dragons, Noah slightly nodded. Intelligence is necessary for survival; being able to appraise the situation is a form of wisdom.
"But they do look fierce."
Noah observed the Abyss Dragon Species he created with his intervention, which also couldn't escape the interference of the Abyss. The resulting Poison Dragons, slender as serpents, inevitably reminded him of the Green Dragons in the Colorful Dragon Clan.
"But that doesn't matter."
An ugly and terrifying appearance is insignificant in the Abyss; whether they can fight is what counts. If they can fight, even a two-headed baboon with a snake's tail could be a demon monarch.
"Are you hungry?"
Seeing the three newly transformed Poison Dragons before him, Noah couldn't help but ask, since their scales nearly clung to their bones.
Even though they consumed most resources of the blood pool, completing such a transformation almost exhausted everything, reflecting the incredible appetite of these beings.
"Master, we can hunt for ourselves~"
The Poison Dragon closest to Noah's feet immediately responded in Abyssal tongue.
"Where can you find prey around here? Sif, summon demons."
Nine Rings Spell, summon the Demon Army
Just as Noah's words fell, the Fairy Queen raised her hand, performing an Upper-level spell. Unlike the avatar descents in the Material Realm, in the Abyss, all summoned beings are Devils in their true bodies.
Thus, at the instant when the devilish blood scent was detected, the five dragons, who were previously bowing, lifted their heads uncontrollably, eyes filled with a greed ready to devour demons. Between their sharp fangs, dragon saliva with strong acid properties dripped down.
"What are you waiting for? Start dining already?"
As soon as Noah's words ended, the five Poison Dragons leapt forward. Though a group of mid-level demons was summoned, they were slaughtered nonetheless.
It's not that these newly born Poison Dragons were exceptionally powerful, but rather because the summoned demons were paralyzed by terror as they arrived, affecting their body, mind, and soul.
"Based on their habits and traits, why not name them Black Devouring Dragons?"
Watching the five dragons enjoy their feast of demonic flesh and blood, Noah asked the fairies on either side, their sunken forms finally filling out.
The dragon monster species he created, not only during their advancement would they consume large amounts of the Abyss's toxic elements, but they also particularly craved demon flesh and blood, not to mention they wouldn't neglect any soul.
