Golden Dragon: Six Thousand Years of Empire-Chapter 957 526: The Demon Tree That Disowns Its Kin, Devouring Heaven and Earth

Chapter 957

The six-winged Great Angel watched the Azure Dragon rolling in the Blood Pool, consuming demon flesh with abandon, and did not respond, opting instead for silence.
This dragon-shaped elf no longer possessed a serene naturalness and divinity; only a viciousness and greed that surpassed even Abyss Demons. The greed and brutality displayed now would likely make even demons feel inferior.
In such a state, the shape of this Azure Dragon underwent significant changes. The originally radiating blood patterns at the edges of its scales now stretched and spread toward the core, transforming the Azure Dragon into a Blood Dragon.
"What's wrong with evolving at the cost of devouring a large number of demons, like the Black Devouring Dragon?"
Finally, the Great Angel spoke, yet still held high expectations for this dragon tree, born from the combination of the Life Tree and the Abyss Blood Pool, and viewed it with quite some favor.
This is because the Black Devouring Dragon's performance in many planes was exceedingly outstanding; although it had various shortcomings, considering its manifested functionalities, these flaws could be overlooked.
The most crucial point was that the culminated transformation into the White Brilliance Dragon was too perfect. It was a Holy Dragon capable of completely purifying the contamination and erosion of the Abyss. To some extent, it was even superior to the renowned Golden Dragon.
Because of this, even without fully understanding the Blood Abyss Cyan Dragon Tree and Red-eyed Green Dragon, upon witnessing the tree exhibit similar characteristics to the Black Devouring Dragon, even though the Azure Dragon that emerged now was overly violent, the Angel found it tolerable.
For a species born to target Abyss Demons, what's wrong with being brutal? Against demons, any method is acceptable.
"Do you think it's possible? Plants will use all means to seize all nutrients within their growth range while killing off surrounding competitors..."
Wise species often carry peculiar fantasies and misunderstandings about plants, because plants pose no threat or harm to them. Some naive individuals attribute beautiful qualities to plants, deeming them selfless contributors.
Yet, in reality, competition among plants is as fierce and cruel as competition among living beings, if not more so, only it's difficult to detect from a biological perspective.
These are merely ordinary plants; if a plant possesses extraordinary characteristics, it will likely evolve into a carnivorous plant... Just like seemingly gentle and harmless herbivores, if given the chance, they would not hesitate to eat meat. They graze only because their abilities limit them to eat grass.
There has never been anything truly gentle and harmless. Both animals and plants strive to exist in a manner that ensures better survival, even regarding racial continuation, endeavoring to enhance survival, acquire more resources, and grow stronger.
Intelligent species, using self-defined morals and alignments, attempt to define and distinguish these living behaviors, which is quite laughable. From some species' perspective, the distinctions between evil and good are essentially the same and indistinguishable.
The difference between good and evil depends on the stance of whoever sets these subjective standards. A benevolent act benefits me, thus it's good; evil causes harm and poses a threat, thus should be eliminated. Yet, inherently, this evil and good follow the biological instincts of survival and reproduction.
The reason the Black Devouring Dragon is secretly promoted by the gods of Heaven and receives support and adoration from many wise species in the Material Plane is that its sole target, from beginning to end, has been demons.
It shows no interest in races other than demons, nor in the material plane races, with not a single instance of active aggression, but rather, it improves the living environment for some wise species.
Hence, even though the Black Devouring Dragon appears extremely evil, according to the subjective definitions of wise species, it is a good dragon like the Metallic Dragon Race.
In fact, the Black Devouring Dragon now enjoys good dragon-level treatment, a status even Golden Dragons look up to.
However, no good dragon has ever received the full support of a particular power or nation, but under certain special circumstances, the Black Devouring Dragon can receive such care.
Yet the Blood Abyss Cyan Dragon Tree is different from the Black Devouring Dragon. The Black Devouring Dragon is a Dragon King who, with his power, twists and transforms the primordial bodies of Abyss Demons, resulting in creation, but the original version of the dragon tree is the Life Tree.
The exalted and majestic Noah the Dragon King merely enriched the Life Tree's diet, enabling it to root and grow even in the Abyss, equipping it with active predatory capabilities, and birthing the extremely remarkable tree spirit, the Red-eyed Green Dragon.
If insisted upon, the Red-eyed Green Dragon can hardly be considered a dragon, as its dragon content is quite low. However, considering it was a creation of the Dragon King, not many dare to deny its identity as part of the Dragon Clan. What the Dragon King declares, so shall it be.
"So this way we can better eradicate demons and purify the lands corrupted by the Abyss, right?"
The Great Angel, as if unable to understand, obstinately believed that the tree before him held the same potential as the Black Devouring Dragon, perhaps even superior.
