Chapter 312: Boss Phase Two Still Not Enough
The crow man shrieked, wings snapping wide as black feathers scattered across the red sky.
"Don’t think that transforming makes you safe!"
He lunged forward, claws stretching longer, darker, aimed straight for the twins’ heads.
Rynar stepped in without hesitation.
His boots slammed into the ground. Flames burst under his feet.
He caught the claws with both hands.
The impact sent a shockwave through the air.
The crow man froze, eyes wide. "What?!"
Rynar’s visor tilted slightly. He grinned. "You’re slow."
The crow struggled, muscles bulging. "Impossible! My claws can tear steel!"
Rynar tightened his grip. Fire crawled up his arms. "Yeah."
He leaned closer. "But we transformed."
Rynor was already moving.
Thunder cracked as he dashed in from the side, spinning low. His leg swept out.
[Thunder Break Kick]
Lightning wrapped around his shin as his kick slammed into the crow man’s knee.
A sharp crack echoed.
"GAAH!" the crow man screamed as his leg buckled.
Rynar didn’t let go.
He yanked the crow man forward and slammed his knee into the demon’s stomach.
[Flame Body Knee Smash]
Fire exploded outward.
The crow man coughed, wings flapping wildly as he staggered back.
Clara crossed her arms, smiling. "Wow. They really went full hero mode."
The crow man roared, feathers standing on end. "You pests!"
Black energy surged around him as he swung both wings forward.
[Demonic Wing Cutter]
Blades of dark wind flew toward the twins.
Rynor slid back, sparks trailing behind his boots. "Heads up!"
Rynar planted his feet and crossed his arms.
[Flame Guard]
Fire formed a thick barrier. The wind blades hit and vanished into smoke.
Rynar looked up. "That it?"
The crow man snarled. "Then take this!"
He rushed again, faster this time, claws spinning in a flurry.
Rynor met him head-on.
He ducked under a slash, twisted his body, and drove his elbow into the crow man’s ribs.
[Thunder Elbow Drive]
Lightning exploded sideways.
Rynor followed immediately, jumping and bringing his heel down.
[Thunder Drop Crusher]
The crow man slammed into the ground, cracking the black stone beneath him.
Rynar jumped high, flames trailing behind him.
"Tag me in."
He came down hard.
[Flame Hammer Fist]
His punch landed square on the crow man’s chest.
Fire burst upward like a pillar.
The crow man screamed, rolling across the ground, smoke rising from his body.
He forced himself up, breathing hard. "What kind of humans fight like this?!"
Rynor cracked his neck. "The kind trained by a monster."
Rynar nodded. "And tested every day."
The twins stepped forward together, flame and thunder mixing again.
The air shook.
Rynor raised his leg. "You done yet?"
Rynar clenched his fist. "Or you want the finisher?"
The crow man staggered, chest rising and falling hard.
His wings twitched violently. Then his head snapped up.
His eyes burned red with rage.
"I’ll kill you all!" he screamed.
Dark energy exploded out from his body. The red sky twisted, clouds spinning faster.
Clara frowned. "That doesn’t look good."
Eldrin’s eyes narrowed. "He is forcing everything out."
The crow man spread his wings wide. Black veins crawled across them.
[Demonic Overdrive: Crow Sovereign]
His body swelled with power.
The ground cracked under his feet as he slammed his claws together.
Rynor whistled. "Wow. He’s mad mad."
Rynar rolled his shoulders, coughing lightly. Blood dripped from the corner of his mouth. "Guess we pissed him off enough."
Rynor wiped blood from his own chin and grinned. "Good. Same here."
They stepped forward together, flame and thunder roaring louder.
[Twin Resonance: Maximum Output]
Their auras flared. Fire burned brighter. Lightning screamed sharper.
The crow man rushed first.
His claws came down like falling blades.
[Demonic Sky Ripper]
Rynar crossed his arms and took the hit head-on.
[Flame Body Guard]
The impact blasted him backward.
He slid across the ground, boots carving lines, flames sputtering.
"Rynar!" Rynor shouted.
"I’m fine!" Rynar barked back, forcing himself upright. "Your turn!"
Rynor dashed in, legs moving faster than before.
[Thunder Flash Step]
He appeared at the crow man’s side and drove his knee into the demon’s ribs.
[Thunder Knee Breaker]
Lightning exploded outward.
The crow man howled and swung blindly.
One claw sliced across Rynor’s shoulder.
Blood sprayed.
Rynor staggered but laughed through gritted teeth. "Okay. That one hurt."
Rynar roared and charged.
[Flame Impact Rush]
He grabbed the crow man’s wing and slammed him into the ground.
The crow man smashed back with a point-blank blast of dark energy.
Both twins were thrown away.
They hit the ground hard.
Smoke rose from their armor. Their breathing turned rough.
Clara clenched her fists. "They’re pushing past their limit."
The crow man stood shakily, wings torn, chest cracked, blood dripping from his beak.
He looked at the twins, then at the beasts behind them.
"...Tch."
He took a step back.
Rynor forced himself up, lightning flickering weakly. "Hey. Running already?"
Rynar wiped blood from his mouth and laughed. "Guess that’s all you had."
The crow man snarled. "This isn’t over."
Dark mist wrapped around his body.
[Demonic Escape: Shadow Flight]
His wings beat once, tearing the air apart, and his body shot upward into the red sky.
Silence fell.
The twins dropped to one knee at the same time.
Rynor exhaled hard. "Man... next time I’m kicking his face off."
Rynar chuckled weakly. "Yeah. But we didn’t lose."
Clara walked over, clapping slowly. "Not bad. You both look like trash, though."
Meanwhile, far away in the red sky, the crow man slowed down and landed on a jagged black cliff.
He bent forward, coughing hard.
Blood dripped from his beak and splashed onto the dark stone below.
"Damn it..." he muttered, gripping his chest.
The demonic power around him faded, leaving only pain and exhaustion behind.
"To think... even his disciples are like that."
He clenched his fist, nails digging into his palm.
"They weren’t even ordinary elites. They were still growing."
His mind replayed the fight again and again. The pressure they gave him even when injured.
"If they’re this strong..."
His eyes darkened.
"...just how strong is Garion?"
Cold sweat ran down his back.
"No. This changes everything."
He straightened with difficulty and turned toward the distant horizon.
"I need to this immediately."
Without another word, he spread his wings and vanished into the sky, carrying fear instead of arrogance for the first time.
