Chapter 311: Flashy Poses Counter Dark Magic
The man smirked and casually flicked his finger.
The air shuddered.
Above them, the sky slowly turned dark red, like thick clouds soaked in blood.
The ground beneath their feet blackened, cracks spreading outward as a heavy pressure pressed down on everything.
Rynor glanced up. "...Okay. That’s new."
Rynar rolled his shoulders, flames still burning around his fists. "Yeah. I’ll give him that."
The guardian beasts stiffened.
Silvar’s eyes narrowed. "This pressure..."
Eldrin frowned deeply. "This is not ordinary mana."
The man spread his arms slightly, clearly enjoying their reactions. "Welcome to my domain. The demon world."
Bastor rumbled low. "Impossible."
Varyn hissed softly. "How can a being like you wield demonic power so freely?"
The man laughed, sharp and mocking. "You beasts ask too many questions."
He pointed at them lazily. "You do not need to know who I am."
His gaze shifted to the twins and Clara. "You only need to know that even if you try to run now, you will not leave this place."
Rynor snorted. "Run?"
Rynar laughed out loud. "You just painted the sky red and the ground black. That’s it?"
Clara crossed her arms, smiling. "Honestly, I expected more."
The man’s smile twitched. "Oh?"
"I’m not done yet."
A loud caw echoed from above.
The huge crow circling the sky suddenly folded its wings and dived straight down.
Before anyone could react, it slammed into the man’s body and dissolved into black mist.
The mist wrapped around him.
Bones cracked.
Feathers burst out.
Wings tore from his back as his body twisted and grew larger.
His arms reshaped, fingers sharpening into black talons.
A beak formed over his face, eyes glowing a deep crimson.
In seconds, a tall humanoid crow stood where the man had been.
Rynor blinked. "...Okay. That’s definitely creepy."
Rynar grinned wider. "But also kind of cool."
The crow-demon spread his wings, shadows rippling around him. "Now that I have used my real power..."
His voice deepened, echoing through the red sky.
"All of you are finished."
Clara stared at him for a second, then sighed and rubbed her temple. "Is that it?"
She looked almost disappointed. "Fusing with a beast and talking big. That’s your final move?"
The crow-demon’s eyes narrowed. "Watch your tongue, human."
Clara waved a hand back at the twins. "Alright, you two. Show him what real transforming looks like."
Rynor cracked his neck. "Heh. Been waiting to hear that."
Rynar grinned and bumped fists with his brother. "First time in combat, too."
They both stepped forward together.
"I think," Rynor said, rolling his shoulders, "it’s time."
Rynar nodded. "Yeah. Time to use it."
They looked straight at the humanoid crow.
"Don’t think you’re the only one who can transform."
At the same time, both twins reached behind their backs.
Click.
Two identical belts appeared in their hands, black metal with glowing cores.
One pulsed with flame-red light. The other crackled with thunder-yellow sparks.
Clara raised an eyebrow. "Oh. They’re actually doing it."
Eldrin leaned forward slightly. "...Those tools..."
The twins clipped the belts around their waists.
Rynor laughed. "Alright! You ready?"
Rynar smirked. "Always."
They stepped apart, then suddenly moved in sync.
Their feet stomped. Their arms swung outward.
Their bodies turned as if following a practised rhythm.
Clara blinked. "Wait. Is this a dance?"
Rynor shouted, loud and proud. "Transformation sequence start!"
Rynar slammed his palm onto the belt.
A sharp chime rang out.
Music exploded into the air. Fast. Loud. Heroic.
Thunder boomed.
Flames roared.
The twins spun toward each other, fists crossing in the air.
"Transform!"
Light burst from the belts, wrapping around their bodies.
Armor plates formed piece by piece.
Black base suits covered them first, then blazing flame patterns wrapped around Rynar’s arms and shoulders.
Thunder patterns raced across Rynor’s legs and spine.
Their movements did not stop.
They jumped. Twisted. Landed back to back.
The music hit its peak.
Flame and lightning exploded outward, then snapped back in.
When the light faded, the twins stood tall.
Rynar clenched his fists. Flames danced along armored gauntlets.
Rynor stomped the ground once. Thunder cracked under his boots.
They turned together and pointed at the crow-demon.
Rynor laughed. "Now this."
Rynar grinned. "This is a transformation."
Clara whistled. "Wow. That was dramatic."
Eldrin murmured softly, "...Remarkable."
The humanoid crow took a step back, eyes wide despite himself.
"...What are you?"
The twins straightened at the same time.
Their armor hummed softly, flame patterns glowing on one side, lightning lines crawling over the other.
The red sky reflected off their visors as they slowly turned to face him.
Rynar rolled his shoulders, flames flaring along his arms. "Heh. Good question."
Rynor cracked his knuckles, thunder snapping between his fingers. "Guess it’s time."
They stepped forward together.
The ground trembled once.
Music surged again, louder than before. Drums. Electric cords. A sharp rising beat.
Rynar raised his right fist and pointed it forward. "Burn this into your memory."
Rynor lifted his leg and stomped the ground, thunder bursting outward. "You asked who we are."
They shouted together, voices perfectly synced.
"We are the Terror Twins!"
They split apart in opposite directions, then slid back into position, striking exaggerated poses.
Rynar slammed his fist into his chest, flames roaring higher.
"
[Terror Flame]
!"
A pillar of fire burst behind him, painting his armor in blazing red and black.
He pointed straight at the humanoid crow.
"I am Rynar Revalis. The flame that breaks bodies!"
Rynor spun on one heel, lightning wrapping around his legs like chains.
"
[Terror Thunder]
!"
Thunder crashed from the sky as yellow light surged behind him.
He lifted one leg high, then brought it down hard.
"I am Rynor Revalis. The thunder that shatters bones!"
They crossed their arms at the same time.
"Together... we bring... fear and pain!"
They snapped their arms outward.
"
[The Terror Twins!]
"
The echo rolled across the battlefield.
Clara stared for a second, then slowly clapped. "Wow. That was... way more extra than I expected."
Eldrin tilted his head slightly. "...Their confidence is absolute."
Silvar’s eyes narrowed. "They mean every word."
The humanoid crow clenched his jaw. "Ridiculous. You think flashy poses make you strong?"
Rynar laughed. "Nah."
Rynor grinned. "They just make it more fun."
Rynar took a step forward, flames surging higher. "You fused with a beast and called it power."
Rynor followed, lightning snapping loudly. "We trained our bodies until they became weapons."
They moved again, this time faster.
Rynar lowered his stance, fists raised like a fighter ready to grapple. "Are you ready to see how flame breaks ribs?"
Rynor shifted his weight onto one leg, the other crackling with power. "Or how thunder caves in knees?"
The humanoid crow spread his wings, snarling. "You’re just humans playing hero."
The twins laughed together.
Rynar’s voice dropped, steady and sharp. "Wrong."
Rynor’s grin widened behind his visor. "We’re your worst match."
