Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!-Chapter 1945: Substitution Deal

Chapter 1945

Chapter 1945: Chapter 1945: Substitution Deal
"We contacted someone in the game, and she traced it to your account," the visitor said.
"The owner of the gaming arcade is with the Resistance Army," Xu Huo gestured inviting him to sit.
The visitor seemed hesitant, still maintaining a distance, "You are different from other Inspectors."
This person was actually the member of the Resistance Army whom the mute girl had encountered earlier. Although he didn’t agree to take the mute girl with him, he followed her until she was safe before leaving.
"Nothing different, just doing some handy good deeds on the basis of self-preservation," Xu Huo flexed the hand holding his gun, "Say what you want directly."
"The Eastern District will soon bring inspectors from various branches there for training," the Resistance member said, "We hope you can let one of our people take your place."
"Did I hear that correctly?" Xu Huo looked surprised, "The situation between the East and West Zones is so tense, how could the Eastern District still conduct inspector training? Moreover, inspector training is an opportunity to enter the Eastern District, why should I let you have it?"
"It’s been like this for years, no matter what happens, the inspector training hasn’t been interrupted. The clearance plan is a lie, at most delayed by the Eastern District, but the training will not be completely canceled," the Resistance member said solemnly, "About this matter, you can ask those old members of the Supervision Department if they’ve ever seen inspectors go for training again, even if inspectors are assigned to work in different areas, the Western District isn’t that large, it’s unlikely for them to completely lose contact."
"Training is a high-risk affair. We suspect it might actually be a pretext for the Eastern District to experiment on Inspectors."
"We want to investigate the truth, and you can ensure your survival. It’s mutually beneficial."
Xu Huo pretended to be doubtful, hesitantly indicating that he had indeed heard some rumors from the old Inspectors.
The Resistance member wasn’t lying, in their view, Inspectors are not much different from ordinary people, having merely consumed some Evolution Potion. Capturing people from the Western District isn’t enough for the Eastern District, so why target Inspectors?
There must be a compelling reason for this. All the Resistance members wanted to find out, but unfortunately, it’s difficult for their people to infiltrate the Eastern District through the Supervision Department.
"I’ll think about it," Xu Huo pondered and said, "If I agree, I’ll open both windows."
He pointed above the Resistance member’s head.
The Resistance member nodded, retraced his steps, and crawled back out, closing the window for him along the way.
The best way to inconspicuously enter the Eastern District is through the Supervision Department. Xu Huo had observed before that besides the Shadow Wall, the Eastern District should have at least three layers of ultra-large defensive barriers. Breaking in is one matter, but whether or not to take action after breaking in is another.
The first pass-through mission was obviously out of the question, so he planned to visit the Eastern District. Often, the enemy knows a person best.
Regarding the Resistance’s "Dove" and "White Blood," perhaps finding clues in the Eastern District would be more convenient. It’s not just about clearing levels, but also because it’s curious why Doctor Zhang and the Holy Sword Society appear here simultaneously when they should have no relation.
However, it doesn’t conflict with tracking the Resistance member who just visited.
The Spiritual World had opened, and Xu Huo watched as he stumbled into a small alley, seemingly diving into a trash bin, but actually entering a snack shop through a passage under the bin.
Usually, at night, the shop is packed, but due to special circumstances these past two days, apart from those frantically driving on the streets, the small street-side shops have had few patrons.
Inside the snack shop, there was a game machine. The Resistance member put on glasses and logged in, likely intending to relay messages this way.
This way, Xu Huo couldn’t discern who he was contacting.
After he removed the glasses, the shop owner entered, nervously asking about the progress.
"Although not directly agreed, the possibility of convincing him is high. People with conscience are still the majority," the Resistance member said.
The owner breathed a sigh of relief, unable to resist asking, "Could he be an Outer Zone player?"
"It doesn’t matter," the Resistance member said, "As long as he agrees to let our person replace him, just with our forged Identity Card, it would be difficult to get through the Shadow Wall checkpoints. Hence, it’s better to switch after they enter the Eastern District. If he’s a player, all the better; being swapped out can at least guarantee his safety. Moreover, if things escalate, it would be hard for him to return to the Supervision Department if his identity is exposed."
The owner’s somewhat plump face showed deep concern, "The clearance plan is clearly fake; why is the strategist using such aggressive methods? The Eastern District is thoroughly investigating our people, and quite a few members are missing. Even if we wanted to pressure those Outer Zone players to stand with us... won’t it backfire?"
"The strategist has never made mistakes before. He must have his reasons for doing this; we should just follow orders," the Resistance member rubbed his face, "I haven’t slept for three days, let me sleep for a while, call me if anything happens."
The owner agreed and locked the room door again.
With no business, the owner simply closed the door to tally the accounts. While jotting down figures, he heard the sound of dripping water, so he called out to the shop staff to turn off the faucet, but received no response.
"Where have they run off to now!" the owner grumbled, going to turn off the faucet himself. However, after the faucet was turned off, the dripping sound resumed when he sat back down.
"Might be broken," the owner quickly picked up tools to check the pipes. After inspecting them, he realized the sound came from next door. Relieved, he pressed his ear to the wall to confirm.
The "drip, drip" was annoying, but since it wasn’t from his water pipe and considering it was late at night, the owner soon got used to it.
His pen moved on the paper, tirelessly comparing the numbers in the ledger.
Xu Huo appeared behind him and softly asked, "What’s the name of the Resistance leader?"
"Dove." The pen wrote these two words on the paper.
"Have you seen him?"
"No."
"Where is he? Any distinguishing features?"
"Don’t know."
"Who is the strategist?"
"The leader’s mentor, he’s responsible for arranging our operations."
"Do you know his identity?"
"No."
"Dove and the strategist, who might know their identities?"
"Qiao Ruoxin, he said he met him."
Although it seemed unreliable, Xu Huo still inquired about Qiao Ruoxin’s identity and had the owner write down all the information he knew about the Resistance members and their contact channels.
Moments later, the owner snapped out of his daze, hearing that the dripping next door hadn’t stopped, he stretched his shoulder and continued writing in the ledger.
Xu Huo accessed a nearby game console, using a bot account to enter the game world, arriving at a contact point for the Resistance Army.
The information was publicly left, but unsure if the place was abandoned, the posted message hadn’t been updated in three days.
He swapped a few more places, finding either discontinuation or emptiness, with no findings at all.
Is there a problem within the Resistance Army?
