Chapter 315: Accusations And Misunderstandings
(Author’s POV)
"Mrs. Garcia? Mrs. Garcia?" Myra called out when Amy didn’t respond.
Amy came back to her senses, her usual smile back on her lips as she remarked, "Why will I get offended by something like that? It’s totally alright."
"Are you sure?" Myra confirmed.
"Ummhmm~ absolutely ...... after all~ ... You are like my own daughter," Amy said, her voice sounded genuine. But then the worried look was back on her face as she questioned, "By the way, what happened to you? Why were you lying like that and~ ..." then she scanned the room and added, "Where is your sister? Where is Wendy? Why isn’t she with you?"
Myra also realized Wendy hadn’t returned, so she told her, "Wendy~ ... she went to the washroom. As for the other thing, I just wanted to rest for a little bit but didn’t realize I would end up falling asleep, haha." She laughed awkwardly at the end.
"It is all because of my insistence. I shouldn’t have dragged you here with me," Amy said, her tone filled with guilt and regret.
"Ma’am, I~," as they were middle of their conversation, Wendy returned. Oblivious to what they were talking about, she casually took her seat, chugged a glass of water, and sighed. Then she shifted her attention to Amy and inquired, "Mrs. Garcia, are you done with your business?"
"Yes, my business has been dealt with," was Amy’s reply. The smile on her face never faded. Soon, the waitstaff arrived with their food, one after another, and placed it on the table.
The table was now laden with various types of cuisine, some familiar, some completely foreign to both Myra and Wendy. After setting everything, the main waiter spoke, his voice curt and professional, "Please~ .... Enjoy your meal, ma’am."
Amy nodded, and soon they all departed from the room.

"What do you want to talk about, Yel? Can you tell me now?" Fabian asked.
He had taken Yelena to his house as it was much more convenient to talk there. During the short car ride, Yelena didn’t even look at his face, much rather spoke with him. Even when he kept asking repeatedly, she remained mum, giving him the cold shoulder.
Yelena, who was standing in the middle of the living room, her back facing towards Fabian, turned around and questioned Fabian directly, "Tell me honestly, what did you guys do last night?" She gave him a death stare while waiting for his answer.
Fabian was a bit taken aback by her question. He asked, "What do you~ .... What do you mean by that? What did we do?"
"Ohhh~ .... Don’t act so innocent in front of me, Fabian Stephens. Don’t you dare. I saw what you did. So, don’t play this game," Yelena was utterly pissed by his act. She couldn’t contain her anger any longer.
"Wait~ ...... wait~ ... wait~ ...... Yel, I truly don’t understand what you are talking about," Fabian approached Yelena, his steps slow. "Can you please tell me why you are so angry?"
Up until that point, he thought Yelena’s anger had something to do with Alaric, maybe Myra had told her something about the situation to her, and that’s why she was so angry. But the way Yelena was acting told him that wasn’t the case. Then he recalled how he almost confessed his feelings to Myra in her drunken state. With a slight fumble, he asked, "Did~ .... Did Myra~ .... say something to you? Does she~ ..... does~ she~ ..... remember about last night?" Saying this, he gulped nervously.
With her tongue poking her inner cheek and her arms crossed, Yelena gave him a cold glare. Then she spoke, "Finally dropping your act." She then uncrossed her arms and pointed a finger in his face, her voice laboured, "Fabian Stephens, you have fuckling disappointed me. I really~ ...... ~really didn’t expect you to be that kind of person. I trusted you with Myra. Even helped you last night, but you~ ... sheeeshhhh ... I didn’t know you would turn out to be a monster."
Fabian was speechless at her words as Yelena bombarded him with accusations, "You~ ..... fucker. You took Myra to a private beach and even gave her alcohol. You know Myra is a light drinker. Her tolerance is low. And~ .... you still made her drink to the point, she blanked out. And~ ... after that you~" she poked a finger right at his chest as she spoke, "You took advantage of Myra in her hazy state." Her eyes turned bloodshot as she screamed at him.
Fabian’s eyes flickered at her words. He was flabbergasted by what she said, "I took advantage of Myra, huhhh? I guess there is some misunderstanding."
"What? Back to acting innocent again, hahh? Save it," Yelena raised a brow as she stated in a condescending tone. "You were with her last night, all alone, right?"
"Yes, that’s correct. We were alone, but nothing happened between us. I swear," Fabian clarified. "I just~ ......" before he could complete his words, Yelena interrupted him.
"You say nothing happened, ahh? So, why was her room in a complete mess? Why the fucking hell was your jacket in her room? Why were her lips swollen? Why the hell did Myra have hickeys on her neck? WHYYYYY? Yelena yelled again. "Tell me, Fabian Stephens, why?"
Fabian’s eyes widened in shock. He was dumbstruck once again. His steps staggered backwards as he tried to process her words. He felt as if the oxygen had been sucked out of his lungs.
After letting all her frustration out, Yelena said, her voice much calmer, "Fabian, I really trusted you. But I don’t think I can anymore." She then mumbled to herself, "And~ ...... Myra~ ...... she doesn’t even know what happened with her."
"Yelena. I swear on my life. I didn’t do anything to her. Don’t you know me? I will never cross the line without Myra’s consent. I admit, I did somewhat confess to her about my feelings, and we did have a drink or two together, but that’s it. As for the jacket, I gave it to her on the beach as it was windy and cold there. How can you think I would do something like that? I dropped her at her place, but didn’t go inside," Fabian verbalized.
"And what about the love marks? That poor girl~ .... she thinks that they are mosquito bites, but I could tell just by looking at them what they really are. So, don’t you dare lie to me on this one," Yelena was adamant that those love marks were from Fabian. "I have been genuinely rooting for you two. But didn’t I warn you beforehand not to cross the boundary?"
"YEL~ ... YEL~ ... YEL~ ......" Fabian’s hand was on his forehead as he could tell that Yelena was sure that he was the culprit. He then walked towards her again and kept his hands on her shoulders, "First, calm down."
Yelena tried to shrug off his hand, but his hold was firm, "Please~ ... Yelena."
Though reluctant, Yelena relented. Fabian helped her settle on the couch as he took a seat beside her. Then, looking her in the eye, he started, "I know you are angry, enraged, and you have every right to be. But~ ... don’t you know how I am as a person. Am I someone so cheap in your eyes? Who would throw advances at Myra in her unsober state? If you don’t believe me, you can check the dashcam in my car."
"Then who did it? You tell me, if it wasn’t for you, then who?" Yelena fired back.
Fabian remained silent as he licked his lips. He then said, "Maybe it really was mosquito bites." Though he said this, he felt a sudden ickiness in his heart about this whole thing. He then got up and made his way to the kitchen to get a glass of water for Yelena.
After having a sip, Yelena’s nerves calmed down a little by little. She wiped the corner of her eyes and said with a crackly voice, "Okay, fine. I am sorry. Maybe I overreacted on this one. Maybe it really was simply mosquito bites. But~ ... I will be keeping an eye on you from now on."
Then, recalling what he said earlier, Yelena asked, "So, you confessed to her?"
"Uhhh~ ...... I won’t be saying that it was a confession, actually," Fabian said. He sounded unsure.
"You just said you confessed. Didn’t you?" Yelena was puzzled.
"I did~ ... but .... arghh~ .... Actually, I asked her if I have romantic feelings for her, what would she think?" Fabian told her, his ears turning red.
"So~ .... What did she say?" Now that she was relaxed from her enraged state, she asked, her ears perking up in anticipation.
He then explained what went down last night.
"Did she seriously say that?" Yelena asked.
"Ummhmm~"
"That means you are not yet friend zoned. You still have a chance," Yelena uttered.
"But she said this while being drunk. Maybe she was just blabbering," Fabian remarked.
"Stupid guy. Ughhh~ ... a person is vulnerably honest when they are in a drunken state, don’t you know that? Ohhh~ ..... gosh~ .... Sometimes I wonder, how did you become a professor?"
