Miss Witch’s Devotion Has Gone… Twisted-Chapter 25: One More Person to Get Beaten

Chapter 25

Loren timed Scarlett's simple mind and lack of physical prowess perfectly, and easily led her into his control.
"Fine, you'll start today. Serve as my maid. Mirrorheart, take her to change clothes, and have the contract signed while you're at it."
In a short time Loren successfully kept Scarlett. Witches truly had simple hearts; if not for the World Will protecting them, they would probably have been much worse off.
Still, Loren took precautions. The contract he gave Scarlett bore the mark of the God of Vows and Wind, which would bind her to some extent. It wouldn't make her obey every command, but it would prevent betrayal.
However, that contract most likely wouldn't even need to take effect—Loren knew witches wouldn't betray him.
Witches were like stray dogs by the roadside: give them a sausage and they'll bite the villain's leg to the bone when you are in danger.
Loren liked this honest kind of affection, which was why he always chose to help witches when he played games before.
"Master Mentor…"
When Loren walked out of the basement, a maid who was still cleaning inside greeted him. He had grown used to being respectfully acknowledged by everyone.
"That's enough. I found another maid, you can go. I like peace and quiet."
There were too many prying eyes here, and Loren feared Scarlett might be exposed one day. Besides, he genuinely preferred calm. They didn't need many people; if Anna could eat enough, Mirrorheart alone would suffice.
Seeing that the others were unmoved, Loren understood their concerns.
"I will the progress of the medicine brewing to His Majesty the King in real time, so you don't need to worry."
After he said that, they began to leave one after another. Only a few maids looked sad. Loren was effectively above everyone but beneath no one; being noticed by Loren was almost equivalent to having the same status as the queen.
But Loren spent every day with witches, so it was unlikely he would take an interest in ordinary people.
When the villa emptied, Scarlett had just finished changing. In fact, Mirrorheart had deliberately waited until the others left before letting Scarlett appear, because her clothes were indeed indecent.
"Are you sure this outfit is normal…"
Scarlett tried her best to cover herself. Even so, Loren could clearly see exactly what she was wearing.
It was a maid outfit, but half of it was missing—not the upper half or the lower half, but the front half. Scarlett's front was completely exposed, and the skirt was so short it practically revealed her underwear.
Especially now, with Scarlett looking ashamed, even pulling the skirt down with all her might couldn't cover her effectively. She could only use her arms to shield herself as much as possible.
Scarlett felt like a lamb walking into a tiger's mouth. When she used to steal from some nobles, she had overheard the nobles' maids discuss certain secrets, and she wondered if she was now about to…
"…"
Loren said nothing. He walked silently to Mirrorheart in Scarlett's panicked gaze and punched her on the head.
"Put her back in decent clothes."
"Yes."
Mirrorheart, who had just been hit, expressionlessly rubbed the top of her head, then pulled Scarlett back into her room. Scarlett visibly relaxed; she looked at Loren with far more friendliness afterward.
At that moment Anna and Naclis came out. They had already changed into the new dresses Mirrorheart had bought.
"Is this outfit broken…"
Naclis tugged at the front of her dress. It was loose and there was a conspicuous gap. She felt awkward wearing it.
"Not really?"
Anna had the same outfit, but it fit her perfectly. Naclis glanced at Anna's perky chest and suddenly understood what that gap was for—it just exposed cleavage.
Naclis lowered her head and fell silent. She suspected Mirrorheart was mocking her.
"I'll buy you clothes next time. Mirrorheart doesn't know how to shop. The underwear she buys you are for the children's section."
Loren patted Naclis's shoulder to comfort her, but Naclis felt a blow to her self-esteem. Her face flushed with anger, and she stomped her foot hard before retreating to her room to change back into her old clothes.
When Naclis emerged in her original outfit, Mirrorheart came out with Scarlett. Loren introduced them at that moment.
"This is Scarlett. She's a witch and will work as a maid in our household."
After Mirrorheart nudged her with her elbow, Scarlett finally spoke.
"Ma… Master…"
Her stammering tone didn't draw harsh treatment from Loren.
"My name is Loren. You can call me Mentor like everyone else."
"Okay, Mentor… wait, you are Master Mentor?"
After a moment's thought, Scarlett realized who he was. But then she realized something even more serious.
"How did you know I was a witch?"
Scarlett's expression soured. Even as dull as she was, she wouldn't expose her witch identity lightly—otherwise she wouldn't have survived this long. She had always seen how much this world hated witches.
Loren couldn't explain that point, so he diverted the topic.
"If you deserve the title 'Mentor,' then I certainly know a lot. But don't worry. Although I hold a high position in the Bountiful Church, I personally like witches. You can stay here safely. I promise no one will hurt you."
"You… like me?"
Scarlett's odd thought process snatched that key piece of information. Her small face flushed even redder than when Mirrorheart had forced her into that humiliating maid outfit.
After struggling to survive in this cruel world for so long, Scarlett had never heard anything like that before.
Previously she just aimed to get by, but now her mindset began to change.
Unlike the moved Scarlett, Naclis suddenly felt hostility toward her. The strong animosity made Scarlett shiver.
Witches were generally starved for affection; Scarlett's reaction had been predicted by Loren.
"Yes."
Loren admitted it candidly. Then he watched Scarlett tear up, fling her arms wide, and run toward him. She misstepped, tumbled down the stairs, rolled all the way, and ended up inverted in a corner. This time Newton's coffin layer stayed firmly shut.
"Now I believe you. Your eyesight really is terrible."
Previously Scarlett had used poor eyesight as an excuse to get out of things, but now she was annoyed.
Only a step away, she still fumbled for a long time before finding her glasses.
She put them on, stood up, dusted herself off, and declared righteously, "My eyes are perfectly fine!"
Loren clenched his fist instinctively, then reached over to stroke Anna's hair.
"From now on, there will be one more person to get beaten with you."
"Can you hit my lower belly next time?"
Mirrorheart, who had suddenly interjected, got another punch on the head from Loren.
