Modern Cultivation : The Strongest Couple Bonded by Vampire System-Chapter 624 - 624: Hunt

Chapter 624

Alex swiped his hand and put the remains into his pocket.
"Vesa, you can move us now."
Red fog spread from his body, then materialized into the familiar pink bat.
After gathering more Progenitor blood, Vesa's body had begun to transform.
She now had four wings, and she could expand into a larger form for battle.
he could also take a humanoid form if she wanted, but she disliked it.
Last time she changed, Moon forced her to play for a week straight. So she preferred to stay in this form.
"Sure, King. Alice and the others will be glad to see you."
"By the way, have you got any information on Freya and Aimu?"
"No, King. Both of them seemed to disappear the moment the seals were destroyed."
"The two of them would never let that happen unless they died," Alex sighed.
"How about information on the invader?"
"Yes. The Human Empire sent one of their famous generals to the planet. They are now in the process of moving the women and children back to their capital as prisoners, while the men will be kept as slave labor to work on the planet."
Alex shook his head. "Typical. As expected from them. How about the Dragon Race?"
"As our intel acquired, there are a few conflicts between humans and dragons, but nothing big."
"In that case, our plan should be viable. Dragons are an arrogant race after all."
Alex had spared no expense gathering information about them. He knew far more about their structure, their leaders, and the Human Emperor.
"Vesa, send us there now, and tell Cyrith to proceed as planned."
"Yes, King."
Vesa opened her mouth wide enough to swallow both Alex and Mingyue.
As it happened, Mingyue watched closely.
After starting to learn and use space energy, she began realizing how miraculous Vesa's relocation was.
It felt like creating a hole between two points to move through.
It was the same theory as using the void realm, yet Vesa did it without any medium.
It was like cutting through it directly.
The process was so simple that Mingyue couldn't wrap her head around it. She had asked Vesa how she did it, but Vesa's answer was always the same.
"If Queen understand, Queen understand. This is not something that can be taught."
Meanwhile, in Alice's home planet, the one peaceful forest has turned into killing ground.
Smoke rise between the trees. Broken branches lay everywhere, and scorched lines cut across the grass.
Above in the sky, humans floated in formation on flying swords.
They moved like nobles on a leisure trip, gliding from treetop to treetop while chatting and laughing.
A few even had cups hanging from their belts, sipping like this was a picnic.
At the center was General Kael Darius, wearing a black armor trimmed with gold.
He rested one foot on his sword like he was standing on a balcony.
A wooden board floated beside him, covered in cut marks and names.
"General, the east team is behind again."
Kael laughed. "Behind? As expected." He pointed lazily toward the right. "Tell them to stop chasing like idiots and start cutting routes."
Another soldier called from the side. "General, what's the scoring today?"
Kael's smile grew. "Same as last time. Adult male, one point. Adult female, two points. Juvenile, three points."
A few of them whistled.
Someone laughed and said, "Three points? That's generous."
Kael lifted his chin. "Because they're more agile."
His eyes swept the squad like he was taunting them.
"If you damage them too much, you lose the points. If you kill them by accident, you owe me a bottle."
The soldiers laughed again.
One of them nudged his friend.
"Hear that? Don't get excited. You always ruin the good ones."
The friend scoffed. "That was one time."
Kael tapped the board with two fingers.
"I want a clean sweep before sundown. If anyone hits twenty points, I'll let you pick first from the prisoners."
That line made the mens eyes sharpen. Their smiled turned indecent.
Below them, the Felidaeans ran for their life.
They had skeletal cat ears and tails, but their cheeks were hollow, and their eyes were wide with raw panic.
A small boy stumbled and caught a tree trunk, gasping. His mother yanked him up, shaking so badly she almost fell too.
"Move," she begged. "Please, just move."
A soft whistle cut through the forest.
A blade of light pierced the leaves and punched into a Felidaean man's back. His body jerked, then fall into the dirt.
The group screamed and scattered.
Above, a soldier laughed like he just landed a perfect shot. "One point!"
Kael clapped once, amused. "Good. Keep counting."
Two of the cultivator raised their sword.
SLASH!!!
They sliced through vines and thin trees with casual swings, carving new paths and sealing old ones.
Branches crashed, leaves burst into the air, and every route the Felidaeans tried to take became a trap.
A Felidaean male burst from a bush, blood on his shoulder.
He looked up and froze when he saw the swords overhead. He turned and ran, but fall into the mud.
A soldier leaned forward with a grin and flicked two fingers.
The flying sword dropped like a bolt.
It cut the Felidaean's leg from behind. The man slammed into the ground and tried to crawl.
The soldier hovered above him, laughing. "Get up. Run more. I want to see if you can."
Kael's voice carried over, still smiling. "Bind it. Don't waste time playing with trash."
The soldier clicked his tongue, annoyed at being corrected, then snapped a glowing rope down.
It wrapped the Felidaean's arms and neck.
The moment he struggled, the rope tightened until his whole body shook and went limp.
"Captured," the soldier announced, proud. "Two points."
"Wrong," Kael said, laughing again. "That one is a male." He pointed at the collar. "One point. Learn to look."
The squad laughed at the soldier.
The soldier's face twitched, but he forced a grin. "Then I'll take a juvenile next."
"Try," Kael replied, like he was enjoying this more than the killing.
