Chapter 152

Chapter 152: Chapter 151: When Was I Ever Good to Her
"Are you okay?"
Ethan Grant said in a gentle voice, squatting down in front of her. His hand reached out, but Serena Sullivan withdrew her smile and pushed the wheelchair back a little.
The hand that originally intended to touch her cheek missed and slowly lowered, removing the wet blanket from her knees. "Go inside and rest, I’ll handle this."
Serena did not answer. Mrs. Zimmerman had snapped a photo of Finn Chandler bringing her back that day, and it’s likely that the photo only showed her and Finn.
This matter...
Serena lost interest in explaining. This was his territory; it was best if he resolved it.
She turned around and went into the room, closing the door behind her.
Yvette Sterling, who followed Ethan Grant upstairs, instructed the other servants to return to their quarters, leaving only Ethan, Mrs. Zimmerman, and Yvette in the room.
"Young Master."
Mrs. Zimmerman watched Ethan Grant stand up, take out a cigarette, and head towards the living room; she hurriedly followed.
The way Ethan looked at Serena, the tone he used when speaking to her—Mrs. Zimmerman had never seen these from him before.
Throughout the years, Ethan Grant had been so cold, that everyone at the old mansion knew; he even showed no warmth to his own parents.
"Don’t let her deceive you."
"She’s sneaking around with a man behind your back; there might be others too."
Mrs. Zimmerman watched Ethan Grant sitting on the sofa smoking and hurriedly spoke.
Ethan did not respond; he leaned there, smoking one puff after another, the smoke dispersing and enveloping his stern face, making Mrs. Zimmerman even more anxious.
"You’ve been so good to her, but she doesn’t appreciate it at all."
"How have I been good to her!"
Thinking Ethan would remain silent, the light self-mocking tone left Mrs. Zimmerman stunned.
Ethan smoked more vigorously—how had he been good to her!
Four years ago, she was forced to leave Solaria, her legs crippled—he knew all of these things.
Useless as he was, he could only reside in the dark world day by day, incapable of doing anything.
To say he was good to her, ha, even he thought Ethan Grant was a scumbag!
"Young Master." Mrs. Zimmerman felt a wave of panic wash over, knowing that four years ago, The Grant Family did numerous "dirty" things to force the Young Master to give up Serena.
Later, he emerged and entered The Grant Corporation; everyone thought he had come to terms.
Suddenly, a wedding caught everyone off guard.
"Serena truly doesn’t deserve you, Sir Grant and the others are only looking out for you."
Mrs. Zimmerman became anxious, bringing out Sir Grant to pressure Ethan.
When a person is constantly under manipulation, there is nothing he can do.
When he ascends to the pinnacle, seizing great power, the rebound is instant; no one can control his affairs.
The smell of smoke in the living room grew thicker; amid Mrs. Zimmerman’s "loyal" persuasion, Ethan continued smoking. As he was about to finish, he turned to glance at the anxious person. "She’s a good Lockwood Family lady, yet she wants to meddle in my affairs."
"The Young Lady is looking out for you." Mrs. Zimmerman replied without thinking, and after finishing, the smoke cleared slightly, revealing Ethan’s cold and mocking face.
Mrs. Zimmerman’s legs weakened, almost collapsing to the ground; she had been trapped by the Young Master.
"I..."
Her face turned pale, legs began to tremble, somewhat fearful of this Ethan.
After spending six years in The Grant Family, the arrogant young master she remembered had become assertive and prideful. Who would believe that in just a little over a month, this person, once released from the dark room, transformed completely?
Sinister! Ruthless! The hostility he emitted, like a demon emerging from hell.
