Chapter 40: Chapter 40: He’s Angry, So Coax Him When You’re Intimate
Sebastian Ford didn’t give her a chance to explain.
He lowered his head and captured her lips, swallowing the voice she was about to scream out.
Then, with an intimately close posture, he trapped her beneath him, carrying an air of punishment.
Eleanor Valerius could hardly bear it, still trying to think with the last bit of her reason.
Was Sebastian Ford surveilling her? Or did the driver tell on her?
But why didn’t he directly expose and question her?
She regretted that there was nothing between her and Damian Lowell, and she shouldn’t have lied to him.
Challenging his need for control and possession, the consequence was being controlled, being possessed without restraint.
Sebastian Ford’s warning was for her to pledge honesty to him.
When she was kissed until she was out of breath, Eleanor was finally released.
A pair of misty eyes looked at him, her lips parted with rapid breathing, along with her gentle response.
Seeing her seductive surrender, Sebastian Ford’s gaze was completely out of control.
The little fox was smart, knowing that he was best appeased when in bed.
...
In the end, Eleanor felt so tired, lying on the pillow, drifting off to sleep.
Sebastian got up from the bed, put on a robe, and walked out.
At this time, Mason Monroe was waiting in the office.
"Master Ford, I’ve already called the Valerius Family."
Sebastian Ford lit a cigarette.
"Look into Damian Lowell, he may not necessarily be a remnant of the Lowell Family, but representing Second Young Master Sinclair in Aethelgard, he must be up to no good."
"Yes."
Mason glanced toward the lounge, hesitated but then spoke up: "Master Ford, if Damian Lowell deliberately got close knowing your and Miss Valerius’s relationship, aren’t you worried..."
"Worried that Eleanor Valerius would betray me for Damian Lowell?"
Sebastian Ford’s gaze was chilly as he sneered, "If Eleanor Valerius dares, I’ll kill her."
But thinking of Damian Lowell’s interest in Eleanor Valerius,
Sebastian didn’t know if it was rage or desire burning within him, and he couldn’t suppress it.
He returned to the lounge, looking at the nearly asleep Eleanor, and once again moved in to control her.
Eleanor was woken by him; she had no strength to refuse.
Not enough.
Still not enough.
Only in losing control could Sebastian calm his restless heart.
...
Eleanor woke up quite a while later.
She didn’t know the time nor remember where she was.
As she sat up slowly, an indescribable ache and soreness surged through her, instantly recalling the passion of last night.
Surprisingly, this time Sebastian didn’t give her a bath.
She could only wash herself in the bathroom, come out and dress, yet still felt weak and limp.
She initially wanted to go out; she barely opened the lounge door.
Hearing work s from outside startled Eleanor into quickly retreating.
Oh no, they’re working outside.
She couldn’t just walk out of Sebastian Ford’s lounge openly.
The sound inside the door was minimal, yet Sebastian heard it.
Soon after, Eleanor received a message from him.
[In a meeting, later I’ll send food. If you’re tired, just keep sleeping and come out at night.]
Thus, Eleanor found herself trapped in the lounge, unable to leave.
There was food and drink, a chance to catch up on sleep.
But she had an unprecedented sense of fear, as if imprisoned and kept by Sebastian Ford.
...
When the workday ended.
Eleanor finally regained her freedom.
She walked out to see the smartly dressed Sebastian Ford, her gaze timid as if she’d been bullied harshly.
Last night’s loss of control was his warning and punishment.
Returning to the Valerius Family.
Regina Jennings didn’t question or make things difficult, so Eleanor knew he had arranged it well.
"Eleanor, Sebastian’s secretary left, you can temporarily fill the position, so you must perform well."
"I know, Mom."
Eleanor responded with a well-behaved smile.
She was already performing well, with sore waist and legs.
Back in the bedroom.
While tidying the wardrobe, she accidentally uncovered a box from underneath.
Her eyes flickered, and she carefully opened the box.
Inside were photos and some items from when she and her sister were at the orphanage before being adopted.
Also, a keepsake given by Vincent before leaving the orphanage.
This was the item Sharon Sinclair had previously revealed at the dining table, claiming she treasured it as an engagement token.
"Unfortunately, I lost the photo with Vincent and haven’t been in contact for so many years, I don’t know how he is doing."
Indeed, Eleanor couldn’t quite remember.
Facing the Valerius Family’s nurturing regime, she had to constantly disguise herself and play a dual role.
Conversely, that carefree time in the orphanage felt so distant.
She only remembered Vincent’s warm, gentle smile.
"No matter, when we reunite, I’ll definitely recognize him."
...
The next day.
Eleanor was preparing to go out.
But suddenly, she received a call from the hospital, saying her sister’s condition was critical.
Without thinking, she rushed over, messaging Sebastian on the way.
"Mr. Ford, I’m not feeling well, need to go to the hospital."
"What happened?"
Sebastian called directly.
Was it because of his torment?
"A bit of a stomachache, I want to get it checked."
Eleanor had to lie; her sister’s identity couldn’t be revealed.
"Mm, call me after the check-up, no need to hurry."
Reaching the hospital.
Eleanor was always fearful of entering the ward, fearing there might come a day she wouldn’t see her sister again there.
Seeing her sister lying in the hospital bed brought uncontrollable tears.
"Sis, I’m fine. Was Dr. Sterling trying to scare you?"
Chloe Valerius, wearing an oxygen mask, looked pale yet smiled at her.
Although the two were twins, they didn’t particularly resemble each other.
Especially since Chloe was bed-ridden and ill for years, her spirit was worn out.
Only her bright eyes filled with longing for health and freedom were lively.
Eleanor sat by the bed, unable to speak through her choked tears.
"You promised me you’d stay strong."
"I saw how nice the weather is outside."
Chloe smiled, "Sis, I’ll strive to live for the day I can have surgery."
"Alright, don’t be afraid, I’ll wait with you."
Eleanor grasped her sister’s frail hand, offering her the most positive reassurance.
Even though a heart transplant was extremely rare to come by.
"Last night I dreamt of Vincent, when I get better, I want to see him."
"Of course, Vincent said he would protect us, he’s only temporarily wandered off, we’ll definitely reunite."
Eleanor kept her sister company until she fell asleep before leaving the ward.
Unexpectedly, she encountered a familiar face in the hospital building.
"Lawyer Lowell?"
"Miss Valerius, it seems we’re fated to meet."
Damian Lowell, parting ways with the doctors beside him, walked towards her, kindly asking, "Are you unwell?"
He had already found out that Chloe resided here, and roughly knew her rumors in the Valerius Family.
"No, it’s just minor discomfort."
Eleanor never had someone she could rely on.
She was accustomed to concealing secrets, as it was her way of self-protection due to insecurity.
Leaving alongside him, Eleanor intended to part ways once outside.
Then, a group rushing for an emergency rescue in the hospital came their way.
"Watch out."
With sharp eyes and fast reflexes, Damian pulled Eleanor aside, avoiding the imminent danger.
Just then, before Eleanor could express her gratitude, raising her head she suddenly saw Sebastian Ford walking towards them.
She felt a fear of being caught in a lie.
Especially after last night, Sebastian’s punishment was too severe.
"Mr. Ford..."
Eleanor stood frozen in reaction.
At this moment, Sebastian’s gaze was sinister, watching Eleanor in Damian’s embrace.
