My Ability Pool is Superior-Chapter 6: Keep It Down

Chapter 6

Bang~
Tian Wang placed half a box of mineral water on a desk.
He smiled wryly: “This is all that’s left.”
Lu Bai glanced roughly; there were still six or seven bottles left in the box.
He said casually: “About one bottle per person?”
“This is what’s left from the class basketball game last week.”
The female teacher was also helpless.
Sigh, supplies.
No one would think to stockpile food in the office.
Everyone gathered around these last few bottles of mineral water. Ke Jianghao took the initiative to distribute the mineral water, and even Lu Bai received one bottle from him impartially.
After one bottle per person, there was surprisingly still one left in the cardboard box.
“Let’s treat this last bottle as shared by everyone. Any objections?” Ke Jianghao asked after distributing.
The distribution was quite fair, so naturally no one objected.
But to be precise, the main reason was that everyone simply lacked any sense of crisis at this moment.
They didn’t even have a real sense of the zombie outbreak and still hoped the chaos would subside in a short time.
Tian Wang directly twisted open his own bottle and chugged down more than half of it.
The others also drank some to varying degrees, just not as boldly as Tian Wang.
Lu Bai didn’t rush to drink; he took his bottle of mineral water and sat down by the window.
He needed to consider the next action.
This office was, at best, a temporary foothold for him.
It was safe, but just this one bottle of water wouldn’t support him staying here indefinitely.
The human body needs to intake two thousand milliliters of water per day. Although Lu Bai’s body had been strengthened by the zombie virus, it was far from the realm of not needing food or drink.
So he needed to consider: when to leave? How to leave? Where to go?
In fact, this was the main topic everyone was discussing.
“We need to find a way to save ourselves.”
Ke Jianghao solemnly stated his attitude: “From the current information, this chaos is global. At this stage, we can only rely on ourselves; at the very least, we need to secure enough food.”
He always spoke with great confidence, carrying an innate persuasiveness.
In Lu Bai’s view, this kind of person was well-suited for giving speeches in a beer hall.
But after all,
Humanity is a species that won’t shed tears until they see the coffin.
“I… Ke classmate, I think we’re pretty safe now, so we shouldn’t panic first…”
The female teacher showed great hesitation; she was fundamentally unwilling to take risks.
Not just her; the others had similar ideas but simply hadn’t voiced opposition.
“Let’s wait a bit longer.”
Ke Jiangni said softly.
Ke Jianghao had originally wanted to say more, but upon hearing this, he could only let out a sigh.
They had come to the office after class to help organize information.
In other words, every one of them was actually hungry.
By the time real hunger became unbearable, it would probably be too late to find food, with little physical fitness left.
Wu Ya didn’t know which side to support. She noticed Lu Bai by the window and carefully inquired: “What do you think, Lu classmate?”
Lu Bai hadn’t expected it to involve him. He smiled, preparing to say something.
But just then.
Bang!!!
A violent movement came from outside the door.
The office instantly fell silent as everyone widened their eyes and looked nervously toward the security door.
The wild pounding not only didn’t stop but grew even more intense.
Undoubtedly, the zombie outside the door had been attracted by the discussion sounds.
Mainly, during the discussion, everyone had gradually forgotten to keep their voices down.
The people present gradually realized this, but it was too late for regrets now.
The zombie outside kept pounding relentlessly, each muffled thud making their teeth ache.
To be honest, everyone was just startled at first and slowly calmed down.
This situation wasn’t new; when bringing Lu Bai in, a zombie had similarly pounded crazily on the door, but it had stopped after a while.
With this in mind, although everyone’s bodies remained tense, they weren’t overly worried.
Suddenly, Ke Jianghao, who was staring fixedly at the entrance, changed complexion.
He clearly noticed that the gap in the upper half of the door frame was widening, with large amounts of dust shaking off the door lintel after each pound.
Anyone with eyes could see that this security door was already on the verge of collapse and absolutely couldn’t hold out much longer at this rate.
Ke Jianghao decisively abandoned illusions, rushed over, picked up a mop from the corner, stomped to break off the end, and quickly fashioned a simple wooden spear.
He rushed to the entrance, pressed one hand on the door handle, and shouted: “Girls, get to the back!”
“What are you doing?!”
Zheng Xiaoming trembled while adjusting his glasses, his voice turning sharp from panic.
“We can’t let it keep smashing the door.”
Ke Jianghao appeared relatively calm on the surface, but his palms were already sweaty.
Tian Wang swallowed hard, dazedly picking up a broom.
No choice; this was already the most conveniently available “weapon” in the office.
The female teacher was completely at a loss in this moment.
She instinctively retreated to the window, clutching the mineral water bottle to her chest, not even knowing what she was shielding.
“Three…”
“Two…”
“One!”
Before the words finished, Ke Jianghao unlocked the door lock during a gap in the zombie’s pounding and quickly stepped back two paces.
Bang!
The security door was easily smashed open by the zombie’s fist.
But as a brainless representative, it wouldn’t consider what this meant.
Seeing the room full of “food,” it let out a chilling roar from its mouth and lunged straight at the nearest Ke Jianghao.
The distance was too close.
Close enough to clearly make out the bloodshot eyes in the zombie’s eyeballs and the bits of flesh between its teeth.
Facing terror, people generally have two reactions: one is panic leading to limp limbs, the other is instead igniting inner ferocity.
Ke Jianghao was clearly the latter.
“Damn it!”
He cursed angrily, thrusting the wooden spear toward the zombie’s ferocious face.
As a sports student on the school track team, his physical fitness was elite among his peers.
But he still underestimated the zombie’s impact force.
This zombie’s speed and power had reached an absurd level.
The wooden spear only pierced in a short way before he was sent flying heavily by the zombie, even knocking over a desk in the process.
From just this collision, Ke Jianghao felt like all his bones were about to fall apart.
Facing the zombie charging at him again with half the wooden spear stuck in its head, he couldn’t even dodge.
Just as it seemed he was about to be bitten, the female teacher couldn’t help but scream.
But fortunately, Lu Bai, who had anticipated this, had already rushed forward first.
He yanked Ke Jianghao to the side with one hand while gripping the long sword with the other, slashing down from above.
Pfft~
The separation of skull and neck was incredibly smooth.
After swinging the sword, Lu Bai didn’t even glance at the result. He conveniently relocked the security door, then turned to the female teacher and made a silencing gesture.
“Please be quieter, don’t attract other zombies.”
