Chapter 11: Huh, Where Did My Bed Go?
Xia Li came out of the bathroom, and the television in the living room was already off.
He had only taught Lucia how to use the remote control once, but she actually learned it.
It seems she’s not as stupid as he thought.
Xia Li felt a little relieved.
Teaching a wicked dragon to live by the rules of the human world was a commendable thing, whether in Azure Continent or on Earth.
If the people of the kingdoms in Azure Continent knew that he had tamed a Silver Dragon in this way, their jaws would probably drop.
Thinking of this, Xia Li smiled and sighed.
He hoped he would never go back.
As for Lucia… Xia Li actually hoped she could stay on Earth.
After all, that world was too cruel.
It was true for human Brave Heroes, and even more so for pureblood Giant Dragons.
Tiptoeing around the living room, Xia Li was relieved to see the lump on the camp bed before returning to his room.
As he turned back, he didn’t forget to take the kitchen knife Lucia had bought back into his room.
It was the only thing in his house that could be considered a ‘weapon’.
Although Xia Li had let down his guard against Lucia, it didn’t mean he could sleep soundly under the same roof with her.
So he still had to be fully prepared.
On the other hand, Lucia was already sound asleep…
Xia Li couldn’t understand how this silly dragon could sleep so soundly in a strange place.
When he first transmigrated to Azure Continent, he had insomnia for several weeks.
Lying on his familiar single bed, Xia Li stared at the somewhat unfamiliar ceiling, lost in thought.
He had thought of countless ways to return, countless scenes of himself dying on the battlefield, and even started to have the idea of ‘marrying a beautiful wife and settling down in the other world after retiring as a Brave Hero’ because he had stayed there for too long.
Now he was suddenly back, and even completely unharmed.
Happiness came too suddenly, and Xia Li felt a little bittersweet.
The days of having a knife to his throat and living on the edge every day were finally over…
Burying his head in the soft pillow, he could smell the faint dampness of the rain, and the familiar surroundings made him feel incredibly at ease.
Xia Li didn’t know when he fell asleep in a daze.
In the latter half of the night, the rain intensified.
The pouring rain fell from the sky, crashing onto the old awning, making a clanging noise.
Xia Li opened his eyes with some difficulty, changing his sleeping position from lying on his stomach to lying on his back.
He glanced at the time on his phone; it was 1:30 am.
The dim light from the streetlights struggled to shine through the heavy rain.
Opening the window, Xia Li’s hair was tousled by the wind, and his mind cleared a bit.
“It’s raining so hard…”
Looking at the torrential downpour outside, Xia Li gasped.
He quickly put on a jacket and hurried to the balcony outside the living room.
The balcony of Xia Li’s home had no windows, not even a half wall. The only protection on the entire balcony was a row of airy iron railings.
At this moment, the balcony was being swept by strong winds. The clothes hangers on the drying rack were almost blown over, the heavy rain mixed with the withered leaves unique to autumn slapped against his face, and in the distance, there were sounds of doors in the community being slammed shut by the wind.
“Hey, Lucia!”
Xia Li tried to call out to the lump on the camp bed who had curled herself into a ball.
With such strong winds and heavy rain, how could this silly dragon sleep on the balcony?!
The wind on the balcony was so strong that Xia Li’s voice was quickly drowned out by the noise.
Seeing that Lucia didn’t respond, he shook her again.
“Lucia!”
“…”
Still no response.
Xia Li steeled himself and slapped the soundly sleeping lump hard.
The lump finally moved, but she just shifted her petite body and continued to sleep.
It was as if when she used to live in a cave, she would also be indifferent to the small animals that passed by.
◈◈◈
Ordinary small animals couldn’t break through a dragon’s defenses, and large species that could break through a dragon’s defenses would have their presence revealed before they got close.
Xia Li was shivering from the wind on the balcony. He wanted to lift the quilt and carry Lucia away like he had done before, like carrying a chick.
But as soon as he lifted a corner of the quilt, Xia Li quickly covered her back up.
What did he see?
What was that flash of white that passed before his eyes??
“Damn it!” Xia Li couldn’t help but cry out.
“Where are your clothes!”
However, the silly dragon, who was sleeping soundly, didn’t react at all.
Xia Li was stunned.
But he quickly remembered…
Dragons don’t wear clothes when they sleep.
After a moment of hesitation, Xia Li decided to carry her inside, bed and all.
With the current wind strength, Xia Li didn’t know if Lucia could handle it, but his quilt would definitely suffer.
The entrance to the balcony was a bit small. Xia Li moved back and forth several times before he managed to carry Lucia inside.
Closing the door, the noisy wind was shut out, and Lucia then lifted the quilt and poked her head out.
“Hmm…? Xia Li?”
She stared at the dark figure in front of her with her beautiful amber eyes.
“I dreamed that my bed ran away.”
Lucia seemed to have had a nightmare and sounded a little scared.
“…” Xia Li said speechlessly, “No kidding, you were almost blown away by the wind.”
“Is it that exaggerated?” Lucia didn’t believe it.
“It’s raining outside now. I moved your bed to the living room. You’ll sleep here tonight,” Xia Li said.
Xia Li was so worried about her just now, but she was actually fine.
“Oh…” Lucia nodded.
She neither agreed nor disagreed; it didn’t matter to her where she slept.
Just as Lucia was about to sit up, Xia Li reacted quickly and pressed her back down onto the bed.
That flash of white passed before his eyes again, but this time it was much blurrier without the streetlights illuminating it.
“…”
Unexpectedly, that seemingly flat area actually had curves and texture.
Xia Li didn’t do it on purpose; he left after pushing Lucia back onto the bed.
“Wear pajamas to sleep from now on. I’ll buy some for you tomorrow,”
“And don’t take off your clothes anywhere, especially outside!” Xia Li said seriously and returned to his room.
Lucia watched him leave, puzzled.
Huh, why is this Brave Hero so fierce?
She had clearly taken off her clothes little by little while wrapped in the quilt. Their dragon race cherished their bodies.
She wouldn’t casually expose her body in human form.
This Brave Hero really didn’t understand anything.
In the master bedroom.
Xia Li couldn’t understand why he was annoyed just now.
When he was talking just now, he clearly felt his voice getting louder, as if he was deliberately trying to cover something up.
It felt like he was getting angry out of embarrassment.
Maybe it was because it was the first time he brought a girl home, so he was a little nervous?
After thinking for a while to no avail, Xia Li turned over and decided to stop thinking about Lucia.
