John left the Spooky Plate with Laventon to study for now.
He headed to the team leader's office on the second floor to pick up his Galaxy Expedition Team uniform.
Like Akari's clothing, the team uniforms didn't distinguish between men and women, only by size. It looked remarkably like a school uniform.
However, the team leader also gave John an extra red cap, while the photo showed Akari wearing a white scarf.
"You can get a new team uniform once you're promoted to captain rank."
"But before that, you'll need to complete enough tasks to increase your star rating."
"Although Professor Laventon proposed having you join his laboratory as a researcher, the captain and I considered that with your combat ability, being purely a researcher would be a waste."
"So we've decided to give you dual positions, researcher and survey corps member."
"You can accept both researcher and survey tasks simultaneously. It's up to you to decide which assignments you want to undertake," Zisu explained to John methodically.
After finishing, she added a reminder.
"The captain seems to need something from you. You can head up to the third floor to find her."
"Understood." John agreed, turned around, left the administration room, and headed to the third floor to find Captain Cyllene.
When he arrived on the third floor, she was in conversation with two other leaders.
Seeing John arrive, Cyllene stood up and made introductions.
"This is a new member of our Galaxy Expedition Team, a traveler from another continent, John."
"Hello, I'm Adaman, leader of the Diamond Clan."
"I'm Irida, leader of the Pearl Clan."
The Diamond Clan leader was a young man. His face had a somewhat rebellious look, like a delinquent, but in reality he was bold and outgoing, someone who made friends easily.
The Pearl Clan leader was a young woman dressed in red and white, with a flute at her waist.
"Hello," John returned their greetings.
"Come, sit here." Cyllene gestured for John to sit beside her.
The three resumed their previous discussion.
"Recently, our wardens have ed that the nobles have become irritable to varying degrees, but we don't know why," Adaman suddenly mentioned.
"Our Pearl Clan wardens ed the same thing," Irida said.
After speaking, the two looked at each other and frowned simultaneously.
If this had happened to only one clan, it might be coincidence. But with wardens from both clans ing identical issues, this was clearly no accident.
Something big was brewing.
"Do you have any leads?" Cyllene asked.
Adaman and Irida both shook their heads.
"At first, we thought it was temperature or food-related, but after confirming those weren't issues, the nobles' condition didn't improve. They continued becoming more and more agitated over time," Adaman explained.
"After that, whether we sent scouts or investigated personally, we found nothing."
Irida nodded silently in agreement.
If the situations were so consistent, the cause must be the same.
John listened to the discussion about the nobles' temperament issues and suspected this was part of the main plot.
If he remembered correctly, a descendant of the ancient Sinnoh people would team up with Giratina to cause chaos.
However, the game's storyline required the protagonist to suppress these violent nobles one by one.
"If there are no leads yet, let's continue investigating. If the nobles' agitation is man-made, the culprit won't be able to hide forever," Cyllene suggested thoughtfully.
Adaman and Irida nodded silently, agreeing with Cyllene's proposal.
"Since there's nothing definitive about the nobles' situation for now, we need to discuss Snowpoint Temple."
"After all, the Snowpoint Temple matter can't be delayed any longer," Irida said suddenly.
"Currently, researchers from both the Pearl and Diamond Clans have completed their survey and confirmed this temple has six floors above ground and three floors underground! Our teams have already entered the second floor, but we've encountered trouble."
"There's a powerful Pokemon guarding the stairs from the second to the third floor," Adaman said. "Irida and I can't defeat it even working together, so we came specifically to ask you, Captain Cyllene, to join us in the expedition."
"After all, the Galaxy Expedition Team also has a stake in the Snowpoint Temple exploration."
"I'm afraid I can't." Cyllene rejected Adaman's invitation without much hesitation. "I have more pressing matters to handle."
"Should we postpone the Snowpoint Temple expedition then?"
"That's not necessary." Cyllene suddenly looked at John. "Are you interested in taking this mission? I apologize that you just joined the Galaxy Expedition Team and I'm already giving you such a difficult assignment."
"Me?" John raised an eyebrow.
Not only did he know about Snowpoint Temple, he'd actually been there.
Not to this ancient Sinnoh version, but to the Snowpoint Temple two thousand years in the future. And if he remembered correctly, that was where the legendary Pokemon Regigigas resided.
Whether in ancient Sinnoh or two thousand years later, Regigigas's location never changed.
The powerful Pokemon that could stop both clan leaders, if it wasn't Regigigas itself, it had to be at least one of the three legendary golems.
"Sure." John didn't mind capturing the legendary golems two thousand years in the past.
Besides, he could have a match with Regigigas. If he could win, he might even capture it.
"Let him go?" Adaman and Irida's eyes filled with doubt.
"Don't underestimate John. He easily defeated Zisu before joining the Galaxy Expedition Team," Cyllene said confidently.
Defeating Zisu, was that supposed to be impressive?
But when Adaman and Irida heard John had defeated Zisu, their doubts diminished considerably.
This made John question the combat strength of these two clan leaders.
Thinking about it carefully though, this was two thousand years in the past. Pokemon battle development was far less advanced than in later generations. It was normal that these two weren't particularly strong fighters.
"However, let me be clear, if the three of us still can't defeat that Pokemon, we'll need Captain Cyllene to step in!" Irida declared.
"Once I handle my urgent matter, I'll immediately head to Snowpoint Temple. How's that?"
"It's a deal!"
