Princess, Please Fall in Love with Me-Chapter 34 : Chapter 34

Chapter 34

Chapter 34 : Misunderstanding, Concluded Amidst Suspicion
“Why… was it you… I clearly trusted you.”
Looking at Yiwen kneeling on the ground, the soldiers around her, who had planned to restrain her, seemed confused instead.
Only the Empress, seeing Yiwen’s lifeless gaze, let out a gloating laugh.
“It seems, dear Yiwen, you’ve been betrayed by the one you trusted most.”
The Empress suddenly put on a gentle expression, feigning pity as she patted Yiwen’s cheek, whispering the most venomous words into her ear.
“That’s right, someone like you—no one will ever stay by your side… Everyone will abandon you, and you’ll live your entire life in loneliness.”
Before the Empress’s bewitching voice could finish, a glaring streak of blood flashed across her face.
Yiwen gazed at her coldly, the blade in her hand slashing toward her face without hesitation.
“If you dare say another word, I’ll cut you again.”
The next moment, a tremendous force knocked the double-edged sword from her hand.
A masked figure pinned her harshly to the ground, her hands tightly bound, unable to move.
“No rush, you won’t be laughing for long. Montor, take her away. We’ll go before His Majesty and let him deal with this one who defies royal authority…”
The Empress touched the bleeding gash on her face, not angry but laughing as she carved a shallow cut on Yiwen’s face in return.
Then, she signaled two soldiers to bind Yiwen and, leading the timid First Prince by her side, left the scene.
After everyone departed, Balesha slunk out from a corner of the room.
Glancing at the chaotic back garden and the fallen Kafu, he cautiously gripped a double-edged sword he’d picked up from somewhere, intending to finish Kafu off.
“Hey, that’s not something you can just touch.”
A cold, terrifying voice came from above him.
Loka stared at him icily.
Balesha felt a chill on his neck, dropped the blade in fright, and fled.
“Master, he’s still breathing, but calling a person a ‘thing’ doesn’t seem right, does it?”
Lycan carefully checked Kafu’s condition.
Though he had learned some etiquette while working with Lubi, he chose this moment to question his master?
“When did I say I was talking about this old fool?”
I, Loka, carefully picked up the fallen double-edged sword, wiping it meticulously with a handkerchief, rubbing harder and harder until the blade gleamed, yet I didn’t stop.
The thought that Balesha had touched this double-edged sword made me want to scrub its surface clean.
This was the token I gave to Her Highness the Princess—how could I let it be defiled?
“Your Highness, they’re taking her away…”
Perhaps triggered by some keyword, Kafu, who had been barely conscious, suddenly muttered a sentence before I knocked him out with a punch.
“I know. A guy who’s half-dead should just stay here and rest. Lycan, watch him. Don’t let him die. Someone will come for him later—only those who can beat you are our people.”
“Yes, Master.”
After giving Lycan my orders, I quickly followed the direction Balesha had fled.
Meanwhile, in the center of the palace, within the majestic royal hall, two soldiers dragged Yiwen forward.
Before her sat the lofty Emperor of Austin, Miles Kelake, while on another seat, Kavita, the National Teacher of Eryus, watched the scene with keen interest.
“Your Majesty, though she is your child, as your wife and a member of the Kelake Royal Family, I must act justly and this vile thief!”
The Empress clutched her chest, feigning reluctance and conflict as she pointed at Yiwen, though her eyes couldn’t hide their emotions.
The Emperor’s gaze turned scrutinizing as he looked at Yiwen.
“Yiwen, my daughter, what have you done?”
“Your Majesty, this one, the Sixth Princess Yiwen, dared to hide the token left by the Grand Duke of Saito's for his daughter, preventing him from finding her!”
Before Yiwen could explain, the Empress eagerly listed her crimes as if reciting a treasured list, even exaggerating them to the point of threatening the friendship between the two nations.
As the Emperor’s face darkened, Yiwen knelt silently, not even lifting her head to meet his gaze.
“Yiwen, is it true, as the Empress says, that you hid the silver sword? Do you wish to prevent me from fulfilling my promise to the Grand Duke?”
Though the Emperor’s bizarre logic didn’t extend to matters of state, he seemed more enraged by the loss of his own dignity.
Seeing her goal achieved, the Empress decided to add more fuel.
“Yiwen, where does this leave the royal family’s dignity? Where does it leave His Majesty’s dignity? I even arranged royal etiquette lessons for you, yet you’re not only rude but dare to offend the royal family…”
“I didn’t.”
Yiwen raised her head, her gaze resolute as she stared directly at the Emperor.
The soldiers beside her tried to push her down, but her murderous glare forced them back instinctively.
“Your Majesty, look at her—she’s still denying it! Please, no, punish this one who defies royal authority at once. As expected of someone born from a lowlife…”
The Empress prattled on, and the Emperor’s gaze grew colder, but Yiwen stood unflinchingly, staring into his scrutinizing, suspicious eyes.
“Yiwen, do you know where the silver sword is now?”
“This… I don’t know.”
As if there were no turning back, the Emperor finally showed a disappointed expression, shaking his head helplessly at Yiwen’s refusal to admit guilt.
“Guards, strip the Sixth Princess of her royal status and take her to the Grand Duke’s mansion to apologize…”
“Wait, Your Majesty. Regarding this drama, I suddenly have some questions.”
Kavita, who had been watching silently, stood up, half-smiling with a playful, mocking expression as he looked at the Empress.
“I wonder why, but it seems Your Majesty the Empress is quite pleased to see the Sixth Princess punished.”
“How could that be? I’m merely a member of the royal family, obligated to act justly!”
“Oh? Then, Your Majesty, how did you know the Sixth Princess hid the silver sword?”
His words drew everyone’s attention to the Empress.
As the Emperor’s uncertain gaze scanned her, she began to panic.
“Because… my subordinates discovered it. The silver sword she carries is the one the Grand Duke seeks. Even the patterns match—it must be her hiding it.”
At this, Kavita grew even more excited, as if a wolf spider watching its prey entangle itself in a web.
“If so, why couldn’t the silver sword simply belong to her?”
“Because her mother was a lowlife, a nobody whose name…”
Before the Empress could finish her scornful words, the hall’s main door was kicked open.
A tall, grayish-white man stormed in, his hair bristling with rage.
“Let’s see who dares touch her!”
“Empress of Austin, say that again!”
“Dare to insult my descendant again?!”
