Around the same time, inside the hospital.
In a hazy state, Celitia seemed to sense something soft and cool touching the back of her hand, pushing up her sleeve, and moving up along her arm.
This sensation made her extremely uncomfortable.
Summoning all her strength to resist the drowsiness in her mind, Celitia forced her heavy eyelids open and opened her eyes.
As her vision gradually focused, Celitia saw a strand of light blue hair very close to her face.
An elf-like girl was half-lying on top of Celitia, slowly lowering her head, preparing to kiss her forehead.
Memories she had never forgotten flashed quickly through her mind, and Celitia immediately recognized who it was.
Kassy.
Her former contracted elf, and also the betrayer who had destroyed her last hope.
Realizing that the strange sensation earlier might have been Kassy kissing her body, Celitia felt goosebumps rising all over her skin.
How ironic that someone she once treasured in her heart now only evoked disgust.
Noticing that the girl had awakened, Kassy paused, her emerald green eyes gazing softly at her, calling out affectionately:
"Master."
Celitia spoke, her voice slightly hoarse and filled with coldness: "Who are you?"
"Master, your reaction just now can't fool me." Kassy smiled slightly. "Your eyes say you've already recognized me."
"I don't know what you're talking about," Celitia said coldly. "I only know you should get off me, immediately."
"Have you really forgotten me..." A hint of hurt flashed in her eyes as Kassy murmured, "Perhaps I need a kiss to remind you of my taste..."
As she spoke, the elf slowly leaned down, her warm breath covering Celitia's cheek, her soft red lips drawing closer, seemingly about to kiss her lips.
Celitia used all her strength to suddenly pull the blanket up, covering her face.
Kassy was caught off guard and slid forward, her head hitting the railing of the bed, causing her to cry out in pain.
"Go back to wherever you came from," Celitia's voice came from under the blanket, still ice-cold. "Otherwise, I'll call for help."
"Call for help?" Kassy laughed lightly. "You mean that pink-haired girl sitting here keeping you company?"
Shanie? So she was still here accompanying her?
Celitia's heart tightened, and she suppressed her anger: "What have you done to her?"
"Nothing much, just put her to sleep."
Kassy finally got off Celitia and gently lifted the blanket from her head, pointing to the pink-haired girl lying on another hospital bed.
"Also, I've sealed the space field here. Even if you shout, people outside won't hear you, Master."
Among the seven magic systems, Kassy was an extremely rare adapter of one of the three major ethereal attributes—spatial magic.
Very few people could use spatial magic, and even records about it were scarce.
Back then, Celitia had gone to great lengths to help Kassy learn magic, searching everywhere for fragmented texts, trying to restore them to completeness, and then teaching Kassy.
It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that if not for her lack of aptitude, Celitia would have become the strongest spatial mage on the continent.
And the person she had painstakingly taught had repeatedly used what she learned against her.
Celitia felt only weariness in her heart.
She didn't know why Kassy, who had nearly been consumed by the curse days ago, suddenly appeared before her completely unharmed.
But whether Kassy was doing well or poorly had nothing to do with her anymore.
Celitia sincerely didn't want to have any more involvement with Kassy.
If she had chosen to betray Celitia for the forced contract and memory sealing, then Celitia could accept that.
She had already killed her once—why was she forcibly entangling with her again?
Suppressing the frustration rising in her heart, Celitia asked coldly: "What is your purpose?"
"I just hope you'll give me another chance, let me stay by your side..."
Before Celitia's eyes, Kassy suddenly reached out and began unbuttoning her top, one button at a time.
The moment her crystalline collarbone was exposed, Celitia closed her eyes: "What are you doing taking your clothes off? Put them back on immediately!"
"Please open your eyes and look..." Kassy said softly.
Celitia refused to listen and kept her eyes closed, but felt her wrist being grabbed tightly by Kassy, forcing her hand toward Kassy's chest.
Kassy's strength was much greater than hers now; Celitia couldn't break free and had no choice but to open her eyes.
She saw Kassy pulling aside the left side of her collar. Where her heart should be, instead of skin white as snow, there were patches of black spots.
Those black spots seemed alive, constantly surging, trying to spread outward, but something was suppressing them, forcing them to remain in place.
"The closer I get to you, the more this curse subsides." Kassy's voice was full of sorrow as she looked at her pleadingly. "Only you can save me, Master. Please, I beg you, let me stay..."
Celitia's gaze lingered on her chest for only a moment before calmly moving away.
"First, I am not your master; second, for whatever curse you have, I regret I can do nothing."
Celitia's voice was extremely cold. "I'll say it one last time—get out."
Kassy stared at her blankly, emerald eyes gradually filling with crystalline tears, looking particularly pitiful.
However, this tactic no longer worked on Celitia.
She closed her eyes again: "Don't let the door hit you on the way out."
"Aren't you afraid I'll spread your secret?" Kassy persisted. "The once-mighty Templar Knight Commander possessing the body of a girl from an enemy country—"
"What an absurd rumor," Celitia dismissed it contemptuously. "If people actually believe that, this country is doomed."
"If enough people say it, naturally some will believe it."
Kassy's voice was calm, seemingly confident.
"When that happens, both the palace and the church will investigate you, and past enemies will find you again."
Celitia knew Kassy was telling the truth.
When enough people repeat a lie, it becomes believable. Once someone actually believed it, the troubles would be endless.
But so what?
At worst, she could flee, hide under a different identity. And in the worst case, she would simply die once more.
She wouldn't take Kassy's bait.
"Do as you please," Celitia said indifferently.
Seeing that Celitia still didn't respond to her threats, Kassy finally became somewhat anxious.
"What about this child?" Kassy pointed at Shanie on the bed. "Do you care about her? If I were to—"
Before Kassy could finish, Celitia interrupted her: "You dare?!"
She suddenly opened her eyes and turned to look at Kassy. In her usually calm lavender eyes surged an extremely deep killing intent.
In that moment, the terrifying pressure of the Templar Knight Commander returned to her body, intimidating Kassy into speechlessness.
"You know," Celitia said word by word, "I hate threats more than anything."
