Chapter 188: Adam’s Much Better
"Looks like we got here right on time," Crill says with a smile as he approaches Adam.
"Glad that you did, I didn’t want to cause any more of a scene," Adam says, giving Drake the side eye once again, who clearly looks very embarrassed.
"Are they your friends, you mentioned at the gym?" Crill asks, looking at Lana and her group, who are also sizing up Crill, Zydan, and the woman, along with her.
"Just her, the rest are her friends," Adam says, pointing at Lana. Crill looks at Lana and smiles.
"Hi, my name’s Crill, this is Zydan, and that’s his wife. Nice to meet you," Crill introduces himself to Lana.
Lana, taken aback by Crill’s gentle tone and kind introduction, introduces herself to him as well, as she gets swept up in the moment.
"You guys can walk ahead," Adam finally gives Lana permission to enter.
Lana gives Adam a weird look before grabbing Drake’s arm and heading in.
"Shall we head in as well?" Adam asks, looking at Crill, Zydan, and his wife, who, in Adam’s eyes, is quite a bombshell.
She is short, maybe just five feet tall, but she is a beauty who is blessed. Long brown hair, big beautiful light-brown eyes, a small nose, plump lips, very big breasts, a sexy, curvy body, and wide hips.
Adam has to give it to Zydan; he got himself a wife whose beauty can’t be questioned. Adam believes she must have had many men crush on her, but Zydan managed to lock her in.
"Hello, it’s nice to finally meet you, Adam. Zydan talked a lot about you. You made quite an impression on him," The wife says with a gentle smile on her face.
Hearing her sweet words makes Adam almost blush. She feels like the kind elder sister he never had.
"That’s nice to hear.. ugh." Adam gets stuck as he realizes he doesn’t know her name
"Oh my, where are my manners. I haven’t even introduced myself. My name is Sherly. Zydan and I have been together all our lives. We are what you call childhood sweethearts," Sherly says as she wraps her hands around Zydan’s arm and lovingly latches onto him.
Adam smiles, seeing this as he finally sees two people who were genuinely in love being together. He could feel that Zydan and Sherly really love each other, and it’s a pleasant sight, especially for Adam, who has spent most of his life surrounded by people who only have ulterior motives for each other.
"It’s nice to meet you, Sherly. Zydan’s a lucky guy. You both look great together," Adam says, and he is being genuine, which is very rare for him.
"Hehe, thank you ~ Honey, let’s go in~ I want to try out some of the food from those stalls," Sherly says and drags Zydan in with her while Zydan just blushes and follows her in.
"We should head in as well, or we might lose them," Crill says and joins Adam as they enter through Gate 3. Adam and Crill talk about simple things as they follow the group before them, while Zydan and his wife have gone their own way to enjoy the night by themselves.
"I am glad that you are here, or it would have been very awkward for me being the third wheel between Zydan and his wife," Crill says, taking a deep sigh of relief.
"It can’t be that bad, right? Zydan is your best friend, and his wife seems very kind. They wouldn’t mind your presence, right?" Adam asks.
"Yes, they wouldn’t. That’s why it’s weird. You see, when those two are together, they start getting really physical with each other and are very public with affection towards each other.
They don’t care if I am with them or not. You know how awkward it is to be that guy who just sits there awkwardly, not knowing what to do while watching two people shove their tongues down each other’s mouths," Crill says and shivers as he feels a chill run down his spine. The guy clearly had some horror flashbacks about a similar experience.
Adam didn’t expect to learn such kind of information about Zydan and his wife, but now that he knows, he feels for Crill. The poor guy must have felt tortured being the third wheel between two people who don’t know how to keep themselves off each other.
"You are safe tonight, I am there for you," Adam says as he pats Crill’s shoulder, showing some sympathy.
Crill finally feels a little better as someone finally understood and sympathised with his pain.
As they continue to talk, Adam continues to keep an eye on Lana and her group of friends, who are a few meters ahead of them.
The girls from her friend group keep looking back at Adam, smiling, giggling, and even giving him flirtatious looks.

"You know that was quite an embarrassing sight back at the entrance," Miley says to Kally, who giggles and nods in return.
Drake, who is standing right beside them, feels another wave of embarrassment wash over him. Never has anyone made him feel so embarrassed.
"You guys, stop it," Lana says to the girls as she, too, hears them laughing at Drake.
"What, we are just talking about what happened. If your boyfriend hadn’t decided to be a hero and make a scene, that would have never happened," Miley says with a mocking tone.
Her words sting like multiple prickly thorns to Drake.
"Drake did nothing wrong. He is my boyfriend. He was just looking out for me," Lana tries to fight for Drake.
"Oh, please, it’s not like Adam was trying to harm you. He is just being protective of you. He didn’t want to let you out of his sight, so he asked you to wait till his friends arrive. It’s your pretty face, boyfriend, who wanted to act all tough; instead, he got treated like a child by Adam," Miley says, smirking.
"And he looked so hot doing it, didn’t he?" Kally says, almost squealing with excitement.
"He sure did. Fuck I wish he were here for me. I would do anything to switch places with you right now," Miley says, looking at Lana, who frowns harder, seeing how her friends are drooling over Adam.
"I don’t think he is that handsome," one of the guys finally opens his mouth to express his opinion on Adam. It’s the same guy who was giving Adam the mean eyes when Miley and Kally were trying to cozy up with Adam.
"Shut up, Garry, your opinion doesn’t matter. Adam’s like probably one of the most handsome guys I have ever seen," Miley says.
"And not only is he handsome, he is also strong and masculine. Fuck, just thinking about him riles me up," Kally follows after Miley.
Drake is clearly very unhappy with Miley and Kally’s words, which Lana notices. She decides to help him a little
"Whatever you say, to me, Drake is the most handsome guy, and that’s why we are together," Lana says, wrapping her hand around Drake and lovingly caressing him.
Drake cools down a little, seeing Lana continue to support him.
"Girl, don’t lie to us. We can smell that lie for a mile away," Miley says.
"Yes, we know your type. And it’s guys with handsome faces. Even a blind guy can see that Adam is way more good-looking than Drake. You are just saying that to not hurt your boyfriend’s fragile little ego," Kally says.
"Enough, I have had enough of you two running your mouths," Drake finally snaps.
He never liked Miley and Kally; he only tolerated them because they were Lana’s friends, but no longer will he tolerate their disrespect.
"What, are you going to hit us with those stick-like arms of yours? Didn’t you just try hitting Adam just a few minutes ago? Did you forget what happened?" Miley continues to mock Drake.
Drake grits his teeth in anger and clenches his fist. He feels like punching that smug smile on Miley’s face, but before he could let his intrusive thoughts get him, Lana holds his fist and shakes her head.
Drake is burning with fury right now; he can’t think straight. So he snatches his fist away from Lana and storms off.
"You guys are such assholes," Lana says to Miley and Kally, who just giggle as they watch Lana chase after Drake.
"I think you guys went a little too far this time," Garry, who expressed his opinion before, spoke up once again.
"What? We are just speaking the truth, and I don’t like that Drake guy one bit. I don’t know what Lana sees in him. It’s best if those two break up," Miley says.
"I don’t think he is that bad..." Garry says.
"What? Did you forget that he used to bully you before? Why are you siding with him, now?" Kally asks, annoyed at Garry’s pathetic attempt to defend Drake.
"He used to, but not anymore. We have even become close friends recently," Garry says.
"Come on, do you really believe his bullshit? He is only pretending to be our friend because he is dating Lana. He is not your friend, Garry. Get that through your head," Kally says with a stern tone.
Garry shuts up.
"Let’s go to some other stall, the food here is shit," the last guy, who hadn’t said a word, finally spoke. It’s as if he never even bothered listening to what the group was fighting over.
He was just interested in good food and having fun.
