Regression - Second Chance At Life-Chapter 214: Frustrated Lamai

Chapter 214

Chapter 214: Frustrated Lamai
Adam finishes his lunch with the girls and calls it a day as he is no longer working the evening shift.
He then changes into his casual clothes and bids Ellie farewell before leaving.
Entering his car, he drives away from his restaurant with a lot of things on his mind.
First and foremost, Clara. Ever since last night, he hasn’t heard a word from her. He checked his phone, and there had been no attempt from her to reach out to him.
Even this morning, he didn’t see her, so he began to wonder if she regretted last night or not.
Last night was a messy night with both lows and highs. Lana got kidnapped, so Adam had to save her by brutalizing those gang members, and then he had to be an emotional support therapist for both daughter and mother and make them realize that they need to do better if they want to improve their relationship.
And in that heat of the moment, where emotions were running high and Clara felt vulnerable, she and Adam had sex, and it was great.
Even though Adam didn’t go all out on her, he still loved it because Clara’s a beautiful woman. After the sex, they even talked about it, and Clara seemed completely fine with it then.
But now that she has gotten the time to think it through, Adam wonders if she is having second thoughts.
"No need to worry. Now that I am already in, going back in won’t be that hard, even if she puts up her walls back on," Adam says with a smile as he drives to his gym.
Yesterday was a free training session as both his coaches looked very busy with their guests. So he will have to make up for what he missed yesterday.
Arriving at the gym, he sees that it’s almost empty. Which is unusual, because even at this time of the day, there are at least two to four people training because they have a completely different schedule than the average person.
Adam walks in and only finds Lamai hitting the bags with ruthless aggression, something that Adam has never seen Lamai do before.
Sure, she trains hard and makes her students train hard, but there is something more to her actions this time around.
She is far more aggressive with her punches and kicks, which is causing her to go off balance more than usual.
Adam can see that she’s very frustrated; luckily, Adam’s not the reason for her frustration this time around.
Seeing that Lamai is very distracted with her own thoughts, Adam looks around for her father, but he doesn’t see him anywhere, so he decides to change into his training uniform before approaching her.
Once in his training clothes, he approaches Lamai while she still seems busy hitting the bags with too much force than necessary.
"Hey, you look... fired up," Adam says.
Hearing Adam’s voice, Lamai finally stops and turns to look at him.
She is profusely sweating and breathing very heavily; it’s as if someone just poured a bucket of water on her, soaking her completely.
"You... are... here...." she says through her heavy breaths, trying her best to catch her breath and calm down.
"I am.... What’s going on? Why’s the gym so empty?" Adam asks, looking around.
"It’s not something you need to worry about. Put on your gloves. We are going to spar," Lamai says and makes her way towards the ring.
"Are you sure? You look very tired," Adam says. It’s very evident that she is on edge and is trying different things to wear it off.
But Adam’s not sure that sparring with him is going to work out in Lamai; in fact, it might frustrate her even more.
When it comes to pure skill, Lamai is far ahead of Adam, but his sheer strength and athletic ability are off the charts for Lamai to handle.
’Looks like I am not going to get any training done today either,’ Adam thinks and sighs.
With how Lamai is behaving, she is too frustrated and on edge to be a proper coach to him right now, and if Adam makes the sparring hard for her, her frustration might increase, so he decides to hold back during the spar.
Adam wraps his knuckles before putting on some thick gloves and entering the ring, while Lamai’s already inside, moving around, jumping, hopping, filled with chaotic energy.
Just looking at her, Adam can tell she is not in the right mindset to be sparring. If it were another girl in here with her, Lamai might even hurt her in the process.
"We don’t stop until I tell you to," Lamai says, smashing her gloved fist together.
Adam frowns but doesn’t go against her saying. This might be good because without any rest period, Lamai might tire herself by overexerting.
"Are you ready?" she asks, hopping back and forth on the balls of her feet. She is itching to throw hands.
"Let’s do this," Adam says, and the sparing begins.
Lamai immediately charges at him with a lot of aggression as if this is a real fight with a title on the line.
She immediately goes for a powerful straight by Adam, just swats it away, and tries to circle her, but Lamai’s relentless.
She doesn’t want to leave Adam any room to improve his position, so she tries to cut his exit by blocking him with her body.
Adam, of course, could easily force his way through her, but that means going against his choice to go easy on her.
So he returns to his position and continues to play defense.
Lamai clearly isn’t holding back with her punches and kicks; every strike she throws has intent behind it. Luckily for her, Adam’s her sparring partner and not some girl, because she would definitely hurt them.
Adam blocks most of her punches and checks her kicks in ways that don’t hurt her.
Due to his superior speed and reflexes, he blocks most of her punches, and the ones he does let pass through his defense don’t do anything to him.
With how aggressive Lamai is being right now, she is full of openings; even Adam, who has not had a single career fight, can easily point out multiple openings for Lamai’s opponent to strike.
If Lamai were fighting an experienced female fighter right now, Lamai would be on her back, knocked out cold.
Though Adam did decide to go easy on her, he can’t let Lamai lose herself to her emotions, so he decides to fight back a little.
Lamai tries through another right hook, but this time Adam counters with a jab. Well, not a jab, more like a push, because his jab to a woman would feel like a full-power punch and could knock out Lamai in the process.
Lamai basically walks into Adam’s glove, and her head snaps back as Adam pushes her away.
Lamai completely loses her balance and falls on her ass.
She gets more frustrated because of it and glares at Adam with angry eyes. She clenches her jaw tightly and gets back to her feet, and immediately goes on the attack once again.
She throws a roundhouse kick at Adam with great force behind it. Once again, a kick like this would even knock out full-grown men, as Lamai is a tall woman with long legs, and her kicks are fast and accurate.
A precise kick and it’s lights out, no matter how big you are, as Lamai can easily generate enough rotation speed to whip a man’s head to give him a concussion.
Of course, this is very unlikely to happen if the opponent is a trained heavyweight fighter, but an untrained man would go down.
Adam is surprised by how unhinged Lamai is right now.
Now it’s no longer about him going easy on her. Now it’s time for him to put her in her place and calm her down.
So Adam intercepts the incoming roundhouse kick with his left hand and grabs her ankle, forcing Lamai on just one leg, before sweeping her planted leg off the mat with a simple leg sweep, putting Lamai’s ass back to the mat once again.
As Lamai falls down, she growls with anger and punches the mat before getting back to her feet again and immediately charging at Adam with another punch.
This time, there is no technique behind her punch. All of her technique is lost to the frustration and anger she is feeling.
Adam easily intercepts the punch, then changes his level and goes for a take-down.
He wraps his hand around Lamia’s small waist and completely lifts her off the mat before bringing her down with just enough force for her to feel the shock of the takedown.
Lamai’s completely helpless right now as she doesn’t have the strength to counter Adam. He is overpowering her with ease.
Now on the mat, Adam wraps his legs around hers, grabs both of her wrists, and pins her down, immobilizing her completely.
Lamai struggles against his hold and tries to escape, but Adam’s hold feels like solid metal cuffs that can’t be pushed against.
Lamai’s trapped, unable to move.
She squirms, twisting her hands, legs, and hips, arching her back, doing everything possible to free herself, but again, it’s of no use.
Adam has her pinned for good. There is no escaping this, and Lamai should know this by now.
Lamai grits her teeth, clenching her jaw as tightly as possible. Her frustration and anger as hit the limit.
"Let go of me!" she says through her teeth.
"No," Adam immediately denies her.
