Chapter 216: The Best Gym
Adam watched Rangsan leave, laughing as if nothing was going on.
If he had not heard from Lamai’s mouth about the gym getting closed, he wouldn’t believe it.
But then again, he has so many questions that need answers.
And Lamai’s the only one who can answer his questions, but he wonders if it’s a good idea.
With her short fuse, she might start getting aggressive again.
Adam went through all that hoopla to just calm her down. He didn’t want to go through all the once again.
With Rangsan leaving, the only two people left are Adam and Lamai, who clearly aren’t in a good mood.
In the few hours of practice they had, she had something to distract herself, but now that the training is over, her mind is back to thinking about the gym and its future.
"Can’t Coach just start anew? Take in new students?" Adam asks.
Sure, as part of the deal, Rangsan had to transfer all his members to this Lao guy, but what’s stopping Rangsan from taking in new members and starting from the very beginning?
Hearing Adam’s question, Lamai shakes her head.
"You don’t understand... The money that my father borrowed... It’s too much, even after giving away all his students. It wasn’t enough to cover it.
To make up for the remaining debt, Xang Lao made my father promise something.... Not to open the gym ever again," Lamai says.
As Adam hears her words. He is dumbfounded. What kind of stupid logic is that? Why would Rangsan even agree to something like this?
"And he agreed?" Adam asks.
Lamai nods her head.
"Why?" Adam asks, sounding very offended for Rangsan.
"Because my old man is a prideful idiot. He would rather lose everything than let someone harm his pride," Lamai says.
"But isn’t his pride already down in the gutter?" Adam asks.
Lamai sighs and shakes her head.
"Xang Lao threatened him with legal action. My dad didn’t want to be humiliated and stain the family name for being someone who can’t pay the debt he owes. So he agreed to Xang Lao, and in return, the rest of the debt will be voided," Lamai says.
"This Lao guy, he really seems to hate your father. May I ask why?" Adam asks.
"Well.... It’s because.... Xang Lao... He’s actually my uncle," Lamai says.
"Uncle?" Adam is stunned. How did this come to be? And why is she telling him about this now? Couldn’t she have mentioned that this Lao guy is her uncle?
"He is my mother’s older brother. He and Dad never got along. In fact, they hated each other before Dad even met Mom.
But then, Dad met Mom, they fell in love, and got married in secret, knowing that Xang Lao won’t approve of their marriage.
But he did find out eventually. Since that day, he has hated my dad with all his heart.
He never misses a chance to humiliate my dad.
Even their fight for the number one contender ship. Dad believed Xang Lao used performance enhancements, but could never prove it, as the fighting board was favoring Xang Lao.
So ya... That’s the whole story. My uncle hates my dad and will do anything to make his life miserable," Lamai says.
Adam is stunned by what he has just heard. This is some cliche movie-level back story, and Adam seems to have become the medium with which Rangsan is going to get his revenge.
Even though Adam doesn’t know for certain, he has this feeling that he is walking down this path of revenge with Rangsan.
Well, if it makes Adam the best fighter in the world, then so be it.
He is ready to go down this stupid rabbit hole; at least he can get his hands on Lamai along the way.
Now that he has set his sights on her. She is going to be his, no matter what.
"What?" Lamai asks as she catches Adam staring.
"Nothing, I was just admiring how hot you look right now," Adam says without an ounce of shame.
Lamai’s face turns red hearing Adam’s words. She doesn’t know how to respond as his response just caught her off.
"Wh...what are you saying?!!!" She asks frantically as her emotions get all jumbled up because of those words that escaped Adam’s mouth.
Seeing such an intense reaction from Lamai made Adam want to laugh, but he controlled himself.
"Just kidding, no need to get so worked up. I was just messing with you, seeing how tense you were getting again," Adam says, taking his comment back.
"Oh...." Lamai says as she calms down a little, but she also sounds a little disappointed.
"What? You sound disappointed hearing that I was just messing around," Adam teases her again.
"What? No! Why would I be disappointed?" Lamai starts getting worked up again, putting a smile on Adam’s face.
"I don’t know, you tell me? Do you want me to find your sexy or not?" Adam asks as he takes a step closer.
Lamai goes mute. She doesn’t know how to answer Adam’s question. Her face starts turning red while her eyes flutter with nervousness.
With no way out of this situation, she does the one thing she knows how to do best.
"Fuck off! I am done as well!" She says and immediately bolts for the exit.
Adam chuckles, not minding her foul mouth. Sooner or later, she will be his, and when that happens, he is going to make sure that mouth of hers is properly stuffed.
Adam watches as Lamai makes her escape in her tight short shorts that hug her ass to perfection. Soon they will be his to clap.
With Lamai leaving as well, Adam also makes his exit.
Getting in his car, he texts Crill and asks him to meet up.
Surprisingly, Crill replies immediately and asks Adam to come to the new gym.
[I don’t have the address]. Adam texts, to which Crill replies with a location map.
Adam puts the location on his car’s GPS and drives out.

Fifteen minutes later, he arrives at the given location.
Luckily, having an expensive car with you allows you access to some nice parking spaces. Adam didn’t even have to look for one. A guard guided him right towards it.
Out of his car, he looks at the tall multi-story building before him.
It says Black Dragon MMA. This is where all of Rangsan’s members got transferred to, even Crill and Zydan, and from the looks of it, they hit the jackpot.
Because this gym looks so much fancier than the one Adam goes to, and this is how he feels just standing outside the building. He wonders what this thing looks like from the inside.
"Hey, Adam, over here," Adam hears Crill’s voice from a distance.
He turns his head and sees Crill and Zydan walking towards him. Crill has a big grin on his face, and even Zydan has a pep in his steps as he walks towards Adam.
"Hehehe, can you believe this shit? Who would have thought that we would be members of Black Dragon MMA someday?" Crill says with excitement.
"You sound very excited? Is there a reason?" Adam asks.
"Dude? Don’t you know? If you wish to have a successful career in MMA, this is where you come. This is the state-of-the-art facility.
It has everything a fighter needs to be the best on their fight night. The best training machines for both cardio and muscle, AI dummies for practicing both striking and grappling, recovery rooms with every device and equipment for recovery, they even have masseuses working on the clock, giving full body massage and physical therapy.
And the coaches. They are all some of the best names in the business, even the entry-level coach has trained fighters who have participated in international competitions
This is the best MMA gym, period."
Hearing Crill praise this gym, even Adam was tempted for a second there, but Adam had already made his commitment.
"I can’t wait to train here. What about you?" Crill asks Adam.
"I am not training here? I am sticking with Rangsan," Adam says.
Crill’s eyes widen with surprise at hearing Adam’s answer.
"Dude, didn’t you hear? Everyone got transferred here. I heard Rangsan made a deal with the infamous Xang Lao," Crill says.
"I know about it. Rangsan didn’t transfer me. I will continue to train under him," Adam says.
Even Zydan looks surprised hearing Adam’s answer.
"Are you sure? This is a once in a life time opportunity. Not everyone gets to train here. Even big names in the industry get rejected.
I don’t even know why everyone from our gym got transferred here, but I am not one to complain," Crill says.
"I am sure, plus, now that I have all of Rangsan’s attention, I am sure he will be able to train her much better," Adam says.
"That’s true. Well, good luck then, but you still need to check out what the gym looks like from the inside. Come with us, we will take you in," Crill says while Zydan just nods his head.
"Sure, let’s go. I also want to see what the best MMA gym looks like," Adam says as he follows Crill and Zydan into the building.
At the entrance, Crill and Zydan confirm their identity to the receptionist upfront while they register Adam as a visitor tagging along with them.
Adam is surprised to see that even a visitor needs to register before entering the gym.
The security here is really top-notch.
With a visitor tag around his neck, Adam enters the gym with Crill and Zydan and is immediately blown away by what he sees.
