Nothing makes Adam smile like seeing Julia lose her temper by just looking at his face.
The anger, frustration, mixed with desire and lust that she holds for him, is an amusing sight to him, because he knows all this effort of hers trying to hold back her desire is useless because she is already trapped right in the middle of his spiderweb and wrapped in a cocoon.
Now, her frustrated outbursts are just a source of entertainment for him.
Seeing Adam drive amusement out of her anger pisses off Julia even more. ’The audacity,’ she thinks while biting down on her lower lip.
She can physically feel her body heating up and getting aroused by Adam’s demeaning gaze, but it also angers her. She is rather angry at herself for being so desire-driven when it comes to Adam.
So, the only thing she can do right now to help herself is look away and not engage with Adam in any way.
Just a glance at him, and her feelings start getting chaotic. So she takes out her phone and decides to busy herself with something else.

And when she least expected it, he would hit her with the divorce papers and move on with his life without even feeling down about it.
He would even start dating a different woman the very next day.

And Julia, being the cunning and observant woman that she is, knows Jack and how pragmatic and emotionless he can be, and that’s why she doesn’t give in to her desire.
Giving in to her desire is no option. She knows a thing like an intense affair that even with his son cannot be hidden, especially from someone as sharp as Jack, so she does everything to protect her future.
Jack might be ignorant of the sexual dynamic between her and Adam, but if they do engage and cross that line, their behavior will change. Right now, Adam and Julia are being distant because Julia makes sure to keep that distance.
But if they do engage with their desire, that distance will cease to exist, and Jack will figure it out eventually.
Humans make mistakes, especially when carnal desire is involved. Adam might be able to control himself because of his exceptionally strong will, but Julia has no chance, especially after what Adam is capable of doing to women who engage with him.

Giving in means the truth will come out sooner or later, and a practical man like Jack will throw her out of the house without a second thought. And as for Adam, he won’t face any repercussions because he is Jack’s son.
Giving in to her desire and letting Adam touch her means going back to being a poor woman again, and Julia has taken an oath to never be that again.
She would rather seek pleasure through Hazel to keep her desire suppressed than let Adam touch her. At least with Hazel, the truth is less likely to come out, as Hazel is her half sister. Jack will never suspect her and Hazel doing it, but Adam’s a different story.

Adam watches Jack and Emily staring at their own screens, not uttering a word to each other.
He wonders why these two even married in the first place. Well, he knows why Julia married Jack, but Adam never understood why Jack married Julia.
The only thing she had been was her beauty. She didn’t have any influence or money for Jack to take advantage of.
Adam doesn’t believe his father married Julia just for her looks. Sure, she is beautiful, but Jack can have any beautiful woman he wants. In fact, he could get beautiful women with both power and influence if he wanted, but he didn’t. Why?
It couldn’t be because he wanted to give Adam a mother figure, right? Well, Adam doesn’t think so.
Well, he is in for a surprise when he finally figures it out.

Back to the present, Adam looks at Jack and then Julia. He locks his gaze on Julia’s cleavage.

Though the chances of her winning with such an approach are small, it’s still possible. He doesn’t know how his father’s crazy brain works. So, he will not give Julia anything that she can use against him.
His victory over her will be of utter dominance.
The wait is over, Xu Lin enters the scene with the dinner and begins serving everyone.
First, she serves Jack as he is the head of the house, then Julia, and finally Adam, as she wants to be close and intimate with him.
Adam smiles, seeing Xu Lin stand so close to him as she serves him, bending down all the way to make sure that Adam gets to see her breasts while standing close enough to him so that if he wants to touch and play with her, he can.
