Regression - Second Chance At Life-Chapter 233: Family Dinner

Chapter 233

Chapter 233: Family Dinner
Adam left, but his presence can still be felt in Candice’s house.
His vigorous activities with Candice have left her in a state of bliss. Though her legs shiver with every step she takes, the smile on his face doesn’t fade for even a bit.
As for Priscilla, her interaction with Adam has left her in a state of confusion, turmoil, and uncertainty.
Just one conversation with Adam made her doubt her faith for a second, and she knows that’s a sin. It’s in the divine scriptures. To doubt is to sin.
This has caused Priscilla to pray to her god for hours, which in turn delayed her usual routine of taking care of the house and cooking dinner.
When Candice’s dad walked into his house at 10 PM after a long, stressful workday, he found his wife still busy working in the kitchen, which was unusual, as by this time she was usually done cooking.
Priscilla would usually be sitting on the couch watching her religious programs that are scheduled during this time, but for her to work in the kitchen so late, something must have happened that caused her to delay her household duties.
"I am home," He says. Hearing his voice, Priscilla turns to look at him. There is a sense of eagerness in her actions as she clearly wants to discuss something with her husband, but decides to focus on finishing dinner preparation before complaining to her husband about her daughter’s sins.
Seeing that Priscilla is in no mood to talk to him right now. Samuel heads to his room to take a quick shower and put on some comfortable clothes to relax.
He’s extremely tired from working an eleven-hour shift. He had to deal with so many clients today that his head feels heavy.
Right now, he just wants to eat dinner and go to sleep. As for other stress-relieving methods, he can forget about them as his wife is not interested in any type of fun.
It didn’t use to be like this before; they at least engaged in sexual activities once a week when they got married for about five years, but after that, it came to a cold stop as Priscilla dove deeper into her religion.
This brings great frustration to Samuel, but at the end of the day, he can’t do anything. He might not be as religious as his wife, but he is still religious. And in their religion, he cannot expect sex from his wife if she is not willing to offer. They wouldn’t be a married couple if not for them meeting at their temple and their parents arranging their marriage. In fact, if not for their arranged marriage, a guy like Samuel would never be able to marry someone as beautiful as Priscilla.
But even without the sex, Samuel is happy with his life as he has a loyal wife who takes care of the house and doesn’t give him unnecessary headaches; she also cooks him delicious food for lunch and dinner. He couldn’t ask for more.
He has heard how some of his married colleagues bitch about their wives being ungrateful bitches who only exist to increase the burden in their lives, so what if they had sex with with wives once or twice a month, unlike their wives, Priscilla doesn’t give him a reason to be burdened.
He could imagine how much worse his life would be if he came home from work mentally drained and his wife started nagging him about every little thing he did wrong. For that, he is grateful.
After a quick shower, Samuel returns to the living room and sits down in front of the TV to watch some sports while Priscilla gets done with dinner.
Once she is done plating the tables, she calls for her husband and daughter for dinner.
"Dinner’s ready!" She yells so that Candice, who is in her room, can hear her as well.
Samuel walks up to the dining table with a smile on his face as he sees that his beloved wife has made his favorite, deviled eggs, roast beef, mac and cheese, and, for dessert, apple pie.
"What’s the special occasion?" Samuel asks, looking at Priscilla.
"Nothing..." Priscilla says, but anyone observant enough would notice that she is lying; but Samuel is too enticed by the food before him to care.
For a small man, who is about five feet six inches in height and weighs about 60 kgs in weight, he sure does eat a lot.
He doesn’t even bother looking up at his wife as he sits down in his chair, rubbing his hands with excitement, ready to dig in.
Seeing her husband not pay any attention to her makes Priscilla feel a little frustrated, but she doesn’t call him out on it. A few minutes later, Candice comes down. There is a waddle in her steps from the soreness she feels, but even then, she looks blissful and happy.
Samuel sees that his daughter is in a good mood and can’t help but ask for the reason. "You look happy, did something good happen that I am not aware of?" Samuel asks, looking both at his wife and daughter.
His wife is making his favorite food, and his always annoyed daughter has a rare smile of bliss on her face, something good must have happened, right?
But from the expression he gets from his wife, he feels he guessed wrong because she doesn’t look happy at all, compared to his daughter, who can’t seem to stop smiling.
Priscilla doesn’t say anything, she sits down on her chair and begins praying to her god before eating. Seeing this, Samuel joins her, while Candice does it out of habit; she really doesn’t care about praying to God.
The family of three gets right to eating their dinner in silence. By now, Samuel can see that his wife is not in a good mood; he can not only feel it but also taste it. Even though everything that’s prepared today is his favorite, he isn’t getting the same enjoyment out of them as he usually does.
He looks at Candice, and she looks happy. He then looks at Priscilla, but she doesn’t. ’What’s going on?’ He wonders, but he doesn’t want to ask and cause trouble.
He just wants to eat his dinner and go to sleep as he is deathly tired from his work, so he keeps his mouth shut and joins his wife and daughter in a silent dinner.
Samuel is the first to finish his dinner, and as he is about to get up and leave, his wife holds his hand and stops him.
"Not yet, there is something we need to discuss," Priscilla says, looking at Candice, who is still eating her food.
Samuel is confused. Why is his wife looking at his daughter like that?
Feeling her mother’s gaze, Candice looks up at her mother in confusion. She, too, has no idea why her mother is looking at her as if she had murdered someone.
"What’s going on?" Samuel asks, confused. Candice is also curious.
"Why don’t you tell him what you did?" Priscilla says, looking at Candice, putting her under the spotlight.
Candice is more confused than ever as she doesn’t know what her mother is on about.
"What do you want me to tell him?" She asks.
"Don’t act foolishly. I know what you did today!" Priscilla says.
Candice’s eyes widen a little as she realizes what her mother means.
"I don’t know what you are talking about," Candice sticks to her lie. She won’t say it out loud unless her mother explicitly corrects her mistake. Doing so would only incriminate her for things her mother might not know about.
Priscilla feels frustrated seeing her daughter stick to being clueless.
Samuel can feel the tension rising, so he steps up. "Why don’t you just say it? What’s the problem?" Samuel asks.
Knowing that her daughter will never admit the sins she committed, Priscilla is forced to speak up. Even though it disgusts her, she has to do so so that Samuel can punish Candice for her sins.
"Your daughter brought a boy home today and engaged in sinful acts for pleasure!" Priscilla says, giving Candice her cold, glaring eyes.
Samuel is stunned by what he just heard. As for Candice, her face scrunches into an annoyed expression as she thinks her mother is making a mountain out of a molehill.
Yes, she let Adam into the house, and then they fucked, but what’s wrong with that? She is an adult consenting woman who had sex with a man the same age as her. It is not illegal by law.
"Is it true?" Samuel asks as he can’t believe his sweet little girl is a virgin no more.
What he doesn’t know is that his sweet little girl lost her virginity at the age of sixteen to her high school senior, Adam’s just one of the few men who have been inside her, but he is definitely the most impactful one because after Adam, Candice hasn’t thought of anyone else.
"Yes, so what? It’s not like I committed a crime," Candice says with a dismissive tone.
Samuel feels his whole world fall apart. Unlike his wife, he doesn’t care whether Candice broke their family’s religious rules; he cares more about Candice herself and how she is no longer a little girl but a woman who engages in such acts with a man.
"So what? You dare speak of it as it holds no significant value? Candice Carpenter, you have sinned by engaging in acts of pleasure, and that too outside of marriage, without the intent of bringing a life to this world. You have committed a grave sin for which you need to repent," Priscilla says.
"Ugh! You sound so obnoxious. Just call it sex. And no, I didn’t commit any sins, I don’t believe in your God! Yes, I had sex with the man I love, and yes, I did it because it feels fucking good. Deal with this information as you please because I am not going to stop," Candice yells at her mother.
Priscilla gasps in shock, taken aback by the audacity of her daughter to speak back to her like this and with such vulgar words. She will not tolerate this.
