Role Playing the Dark Horse Character-Chapter 131 : Chapter 131

Chapter 131

Chapter 131 : If extra (2)
The lion cat and the corgi tangled into a chaotic mess, tumbling off the chair.
The black cat glanced over, shook its head, and seized the chance to rub against Li Li’s hand, only to be scooped up and petted by her.
“You’re actually like this, Tang!” An Huyu gaped at Tang in shock, flapping his wings, ready to expose the ugly truth about these animals to the ‘clueless’ human Li Li, when someone nearby said, “Isn’t that parrot a bit noisy?”
An Huyu: “Wuu wuu wuu—”
Was he noisy? No way!
“How did Dan Dog end up fighting with Yiming?” Meanwhile, the cat café owner Meowla was puzzled. “Dan Dog was always so well-behaved, though a bit cold, and sure, he scratched people sometimes.”
Jiang Lan: “Scratching people already disqualifies him from being well-behaved…”
The cat-dog battle ended when Li Li released the black cat, picked up the lion cat still biting the corgi’s plump rear, and returned to her seat to pet the cat.
“So pretty.” She rubbed the cat’s little head.
The once-ferocious lion cat instantly let out a cutesy, high-pitched meow, calling out a few “miwu miwu” sounds, rolling over to show its belly and lifting its paws to reveal pink paw pads.
Dan: “Miwu~”
“See, so well-behaved,” Meowla said, pointing at the lion cat.
Jiang Lan was utterly shocked.
Nearby, Yiming’s short legs couldn’t reach his injured rear, and his spot had been taken.
The cat that stole his place gave him a smug sidelong glance and said haughtily, “Hmph, whether cat or dog, I’m the cutest.”
Yiming faced Tang and An Huyu, pointing a paw at Dan, his voice trembling: “Can you believe this?”
Tang and An Huyu: “We’re human, we can’t understand dogs.”
“I’m a dog now?!” Yiming cried out in indignation, then paused. “Wait, I guess I am a dog now.”
After some commotion, the crisis was resolved.
Dan was cradled by Li Li, purring contentedly.
Yiming, Tang, and An Huyu huddled together under the table where Li Li and others were talking, whispering and pondering why they were here.
“This isn’t my world,” An Huyu the parrot said. “The culture and customs here are completely different from mine.”
Yiming, lying by Li Li’s feet, glanced up at her as she chatted with the girls, his ears twitching. “I know this isn’t my world. She’s so much like Li, but she’s definitely not Li.”
Tang stretched lazily on the other side, while An Huyu nodded his bird head, sighing. “After all, we’ve seen it.”
“Let’s figure out how to get back,” Tang mused. “I must match the color or traits of these animals, which is why I ended up like this. If Sister Sang came, would she turn into an antelope?”
“Would Yan Changxiao become a wolf?” An Huyu suggested, then added, “Rao Yue would definitely be a husky! Definitely! Same color, same fierceness!”
“Would the boss turn into a flower? And Yishi, maybe a sloth?” Yiming brainstormed, then shook his head. “It shouldn’t involve that many people, or the entire Tide upper echelon would be emptied out.”
“Since Dan’s here, An Huyu, your brother might show up too,” Tang said.
An Huyu grew excited. “If it’s my big brother, he’d definitely be some majestic animal!”
“You’re a parrot, and your brother’s name has ‘crane’ in it, so probably a bird,” Tang said. “A red bird?”
The lion cat in Li Li’s arms glanced at them as they spoke under the table.
Just then, the girls were talking about a friend who was about to arrive.
Meowla said, “Yuyou said she’d bring her red rooster over. She’s almost here.”
“A red bird,” Dan repeated, saying, “The red rooster you’re looking for.”
The implication was clear.
An Huyu understood and froze.
The little parrot immediately fluttered around the lion cat. “No, I don’t believe it! My big brother couldn’t be a red rooster!”
At that moment, a girl walked in with a paper bag. Meowla stood up, pointing at the bag. “Red rooster?”
Yuyou nodded, pulling something out of the bag and placing it on the table.
“Red roasted chicken,” she said, pointing at the fragrant dish. “Super tasty, want to try?”
An Huyu: “????!!!!”
“Big brother—!” He wailed in despair, his tiny parrot eyes dripping tears. “How did you end up on the dinner table!”
He hadn’t even figured out how to leave this world, and now his brother was—gone!
Li Li’s hand trembled as she petted the cat, her smile flawless, not at all like she was holding back laughter.
The little parrot cried for a while, then returned to Yiming and Tang’s side, dejected. Yiming comforted, “That roasted chicken definitely isn’t your brother.”
“It’s not just ‘definitely not,’ it’s absolutely not,” Tang added. “We haven’t been here long, and that chicken was clearly slaughtered before we arrived.”
“Stop it, Tang,” An Huyu, still in pain, said. “Don’t mention roasted chicken or slaughter.” He couldn’t hold back tears. “Wuu wuu, big brother, wuu wuu.”
He swore he’d never eat roasted chicken again—no, he never wanted to see one again.
Tang glanced at An Huyu, deeming him hopeless, and swiftly changed the topic. “If Sister Sang and the others are here, they probably aren’t in this place. It’s just cats and dogs here.”
“But I can’t get out,” Yiming said, twisting to reach the leash on his back.
The cat café entrance was guarded, and the cats were penned behind the counter. “No sneaking out either.”
“Bump into someone to take us out,” Tang said, his tail brushing Li Li’s pant leg.
Yiming agreed. “She looks like Li, so she must be a good person!”
As they finished scheming, Li Li stood up.
“I’m going to the bathroom,” she said, placing the purring lion cat down, giving a quick wave to the others, and heading inside.
When she pushed the door open, a black cat, a corgi, and a parrot rushed in before her, with the lion cat leisurely following, rubbing against her leg.
Li Li didn’t close the door and made a normal human reaction, waving her hand to shoo the animals away.
The corgi’s short legs couldn’t reach the sink, so the black cat nimbly stepped on the corgi to leap onto the counter, dipping its paw in water to write on the mirror.
‘We need your help.’
Thankfully, the writing system was the same in both worlds, or they’d be stuck.
Li Li put on a surprised expression, covering her mouth with her hands, leaving only her dark eyes visible. “A cat writing?”
‘Don’t be afraid, we mean no harm,’ Tang continued writing.
“Woof woof!” Yiming scampered around her feet, trying to show he was friendly.
“The cat can write, and the corgi must be your little dog,” Li Li said, crouching to pat Yiming’s head. “Good boy, don’t run around.”
Yiming choked.
“Yiming, you really acted like a dog just now,” An Huyu said with difficulty.
The three animals went to great lengths to communicate with Li Li, who performed a convincing act of going from shock to attentive listening.
Finally, they explained their situation, and Li Li nodded, agreeing to help.
The little parrot, watching the whole time, whispered to Tang, “Why is she always smiling? She hasn’t stopped!”
Tang thought for a moment. “Probably finds it unbelievable? This world doesn’t have ability users.”
Li Li slowly marveled, “It is unbelievable.”
Tang gave a ‘see?’ look, and An Huyu had a sudden realization.
After leaving the bathroom, Li Li said goodbye to the girls, smoothly taking the animals with her.
At noon, she carried a backpack with a black cat inside, held a leash tethered to a corgi, cradled a lion cat in her arms, and had a little parrot on her shoulder.
“You said the person’s name has ‘red’ and ‘crane’ in it,” she said, making a thoughtful expression. “If it’s a red crane, the city zoo happens to have a flamingo exhibit.”
It seemed like a casual suggestion, but to the three animals’ delight, they found their target.
“Big brother!!!” The little parrot flapped its wings in excitement, while the long-legged flamingo in the enclosure silently stared at Li Li, her backpack, and the two cats, one dog, and one bird around her.
Look at that, so free, watching animal shows from the visitor stands.
Then he glanced at his own situation: trapped in a zoo, unable to leave, unable to jump out, gawked at for half a day.
An Heyu was baffled. “Why am I the only one locked up?”
Then he noticed a girl who looked like Heige introducing to An Huyu, “These are rare birds you need a ticket to see, national first-class protected animals.”
“What about me?” the little parrot struggled to say.
“You’re just an ordinary cat or dog,” Li Li said.
An Huyu looked thrilled. “As expected of big brother! Rare bird! Protected animal! So awesome!!!”
In the enclosure, the flamingo’s cheeks seemed to flush red.
An Heyu felt a rush of heat, experiencing social death for the first time.
No, wait, ever since he started following Heige, this feeling had become all too common.
But worse, Dan was staring at him with eyes that seemed to say, ‘I’ll knife you tonight.’
An Heyu: …
This wasn’t right. What had he done wrong?
After finding everyone, the animals suddenly had a premonition they were about to leave.
So, they said their goodbyes to Li Li.
The corgi circled her feet, the black cat stretched for pets, and the lion cat boldly swatted everyone away with its tail, hogging the affection.
The little parrot, having escaped disaster, rubbed against Li Li’s cheek from her shoulder.
Only the flamingo remained in the enclosure, watching the lively scene from afar.
An Heyu: What did I do wrong?
Before leaving, Yiming sighed, “She really is a good person.”
“Yeah, she actually believed us abnormal animals,” Tang nodded.
“She’s as kind-hearted as Baige!” An Huyu was still ecstatic.
An Heyu, too far to hear, didn’t say anything.
Li Li, dubbed ‘innocent and kind-hearted,’ smiled as she petted the fluffy creatures.
Yes, she was just an ordinary passing girl.
What could she possibly have to do with putting them into animal bodies?
Yiming and the others: “She’s so great!”
