Space Odyssey: Spectre-Chapter 436 436: Cave in

Belphe watched as Jace stepped forward and the cylinder that landed on Pride opened up. Jace seemed focused on it so Belphe started giving orders to the remaining Sin members. "Wrath, those human mechs are going to be a problem." Belphe landed at the walkers that seemed to be joined by other larger mechs and more walkers.
"Gluttony and Lust, go open the portal. We are going to need back up. It won't be long before our initial invasion force has been wiped out completely." Belphe waved her hand and they nodded with Gluttony disappearing with Lust as he teleported away again.
"Sorry, Envy and Greed. We are going to have to hold this Spectre Human back, otherwise he will wipe out our subordinates." Belphe declared.
Meanwhile Jace had dematerialized his sword and grabbed the four weapons that came in the drop pod. The first which he put behind his waist was the Magnum Revolver with twelve extra bullets. The next one that he put on his back was a railgun that had five extra shots. Then the Wildfire Assault Rifle with three extra clips. The last one which was new to him was a simple rotary heavy machine gun.
With his armor that had materialized around his body and a set of weapons he no longer felt at a disadvantage. But he will say, Belphe seemed to be glaring daggers at him. It started after his armor appeared.
Now he was standing ready to fight as three of the demon sins raced away. It did not look like they were going after his people so he let it go in favor of focusing on the three before him.
Jace pressed the trigger and the rotary gun started spinning. A wall of sand appeared in front of his path and the bullets that he unleashed tore right through it. But the sand wall was just a smokescreen to hide their movements. His bullets went right past and slammed into some demons in the distance.
He spotted the green masked Envy out of the corner of his eye. He was moving on all fours around Jace's side. He could also feel a large amount of sand gather behind him. Then as he leaped forward and spun around he felt gravity increase tenfold on him.
The ground around him caved in and a spider-web of cracks spread out until he was falling through the ground. By the surprised squeal of Envy and Greed who fell down with him. It seems that was not the initial plan. Even Belphe, Sloth, began falling from her position near the canyon wall.
Jace turned his body in the air and began firing with the rotary gun. A heavy sand wall formed in front of Greed that blocked most of the bullets. A few of them managed to cut around the edge of the shield but it looked like those bullets still missed Greed who was probably hidden behind the thickest parts of the shield.
He continued in a line toward Envy but he used his curved swords to claw at two giant boulders and use them as a defense. His bullets impacted them and caused them to fall apart. But as he was not staying aiming at one spot he continued on his path.
As he aimed at Sloth the gravity in the air increased and he fell faster while he was forced to stop firing since the bullets stopped flying. The gravity was too strong for him to shoot. His fire power was heavy and strong but it was no match in the face of Sloth's control over gravity.
Jace landed on the ground of the cave with a heavy thud. Aside from the dim light coming in from the new hole in the ceiling the cave was almost pitch black. So as his eyes took a second to adjust he watched the figures of the three demon sins. He could not shoot at them since the gravity increase was still affecting him.
Greed slid down on a slide made of sand. Envy seemed to land with a thud and an audible groan. Sloth fell to the ground quickly before suddenly stopping and landing slowly.
Jace could hear rustling and other noises and turned around. Under his helmet his eyes widened at the large cavern that was filled with cages. Inside the cages were people. Most of them are human but some are not.
"Major Jace to Wolfsbane. I have located a large amount of-" He had to stop mid-sentence as he dropped the rotary gun and jumped to the side as Sloth's halberd slided through the air where his head was a moment ago.
As he landed he felt a slight push from behind while his heads up display indicated that something had attacked him from behind. As he materialized his longsword and blocked a downward attack from Sloth he glanced behind him to see the same red material that made the outpost and barricade from before. But now it was stabbing at his back like it was alive.
Jace had to side step and counter with slamming the hilt of his longword into Sloth's face. Sending her reeling back just as Envy came in trying to cut off one of Jace's legs with his curved blades.
Jace kicked him and spotted that Envy had a few wounds on his body. But before he could pull his Magnum to finish him off he heard Sloth scream something and a dome of sand covered Jace while the red material that made up the ground turned into spikes and tried to impale him.
Jace channeled electricity through the red material as it made contact and he could feel that he overloaded something while through the small dome he was in and outside of it he could hear several pops and tiny explosions where small bits of goo began to be excreted. While the spikes fell apart and the red material lost the glow it had before.
Before the sand dome was retracted he activated his armor's invisibility function and dematerialized his sword. As soon as it was gone the dome fell apart to reveal Sloth and Envy who were ready to attack him but stopped as soon as they noticed him gone. Jace quietly moved around them and started moving toward Greed.
Greed was their current support; he had to take him out and it would be a lot easier to take out the other two. But as he walked toward him he heard Sloth scream again in their native tongue. She had realized that he had gone invisible, but if Jace was right she was also calling him 'death' for some reason.
Greed screamed and pointed in his direction and Jace looked down to see that he was standing in some stand. He had to dodge a fast strike from Envy that would have clipped his arm. Then danced around him as Greed kept calling out his position.
He could tell that just like him, Sloth was quickly trying to figure something out. So he changed tactics. He dashed off the ground making sure to touch the ground as little as possible. She flinched and then brought up her halberd to block the attack as he kicked her.
But instead of just kicking her he kicked off the staff of her halberd and leaped through the air in the direction of Greed. Drawing his magnum revolver as he prepared to fire point blank. On the other hand he was preparing to materialize his knife when Sloth called out a warning.
A black mist covered Greed's body as Jace fired the magnum revolver and the demon's head exploded. But instead of covering the sand in blood, ooze, goo, or whatever he had inside. The sand was covered in more sand as Greed's body turned into sand.
"Major Jace, repeat your last transmission!" Solisa called over the command channel. It was filled with chatter, but him talking earlier had cut through the noise.
"Massive number of prisoners below the drop point. Currently engaging three of the sins on site. Send assistance to free them through alternate entrance." Jace ordered as he used his electrical vision to watch for Greed. But what he saw instead surprised him.
Several of Greed's silhouettes throughout the area. He was using sand to mimic his form. While his own form was hidden by sand. He was about to move when the pointed end of the halberd stabbed toward his chest.
Jace used the knife to redirect and swayed to the side to dodge it. While his other hand shot up and he fired at Sloth's head. Her head tilted at the last minute and the mask cracked with the bullet only glancing off the mask. Jace jumped back to get some distance and just in time as a massive pressure fell on the location he was at before making the ground sink in.
He heard Greed's voice come from another direction and looked. But as he did he had to block an attack from Envy as he jumped forward swinging his swords in a wide arc to cut him in two. Jace used his knife to block one blade, while he kicked the wrist that Envy was using with the other blade. Partially disarming him as Jace took the opportunity to jump back because another massive pressure fell on the position.
He could not stay still because if he did then Sloth would pin him down.
