Chapter 463

Chapter 463: Chapter 463- Ten Seconds Massacre (2)
These demonified knights, even in death, they were monsters.
"What’s wrong, Divine Paladin? Are you afraid? Have you finally realised what you are up against? Kukuku... It is too late to regret. After I kill you, I’ll turn you into a demonified knight and send you after the kingdom. It would truly be the most spectacular sight. The Divine Paladin the nation reveres, destroying his own homeland..."
"Silence, filth." Reinhardt’s words, powered by [Voice of the Providence], instantly silenced the demon.
"How dare you defile knights and call it your army. These brave souls are not filth like you to command and control. Today I shall grant them salvation from their torment in my divine name."
The Divine Paladin hated demons with a purity that could only be called religious. Seeing the other party cackle and command respectable knights, he could no longer bear to see it with his eyes.
Under his powerful gaze, the demon and Earl Malmond flinched. The next second, the former gave the command to attack.
And so the army moved. Demonic energy burst out of their bodies in a vast black wave that plunged the world itself into darkness.
9,000+ demonified knights, former protectors of Solaris, the seven kingdoms, and other smaller nations, now twisted by corruption, charged without emotion.
Their bodies might have been dead for a long time; however, under the reanimation of the dark powers, their strength was still monstrous. Forget about an Extreme Knight; even a level 10 hero would be overwhelmed in front of such a reception right after going through the penance of ice.
If it were anyone else, that is. But he was Reinhardt. In front of him, numbers hardly meant anything.
And so, to nail this fact into the skull of his enemies both present here and watching from a faraway place, as well as to liberate these tormented souls from their misery as fast as possible, he decided to end it fast.
The First Second... Reinhardt took a single step forward. Light exploded behind him, and
[Wings of Seraphim]
unfurled.
The Second Second... He raised his hand. Light gathered; no, it didn’t gather. It obeyed his will. With no preparation, no warning, he cast his skill. More like spammed it.
[Radiant Ascension] X100.
Pillars of pure, blinding divinity tore open the sky. They weren’t beams, they were judgments, each one packed with a lake ton of divine force that disintegrated unclean mana, burned corrupted flesh, and shattered demonic curses.
The pillars of light didn’t simply fall; they purified.
The Third Second... The pillars of
[Radiant Ascension]
slammed into the horde.
BOOOOMMMM!!
The resulting sound was like mountains crumbling, deafening and absolute. Everything that possessed unclean mana was crushed by the light. Rows of demonified knights evaporated where they stood, reduced to nothing but ash.
The Fourth Second... Reinhardt took his sword out.
[Dimensional Storage]
. A small rift appeared before him, and through it came a sword of pure brilliance and divinity.
Forged from the fires of stars, the Solar Edge was out.
"[Exalted Strike]".
No one could see him swing his sword. The only thing that was visible was the golden light that swelled like the sun heralding the dawn of a new day.
Hundreds and hundreds of demonified knights were erased in a single swing, their bodies bursting into light like breaking lanterns. The shockwave from the skill alone uprooted the earth and changed the topography of the battlefield.
The Fifth Second... Silence descended. The once endless tide of demonified knights was gone, reduced to nothing more than scattered piles of crumbling armor.
Under the powerful divine attacks of Reinhardt, they were liberated from their torment, their souls heading for paradise under the effects of his title
[Guide of the Last Light]
.
The Sixth Second... Reinhardt’s eyes locked onto the last figure, the only one who managed to dodge his assaults amongst the 9000+ demonified knights.
A legend of Solaris. A man whose heroism shaped an era. Even demonified, the former hero stood firm in his place, gauntlet drawn back in a battle stance that once inspired generations.
Reinhardt’s eyes narrowed. It pained him to see a man like him be shackled by the corrupted force.
The Seventh Second... He lowered his sword in respect.
"Forgive me, Sir Gerard, your fight ended long ago, yet you are now forced to work under the schemes of the evil. You have earned your well deserved rest. Rest assured I’ll end this soon."
Sir Gerard, he had ascended while facing the Organisation. It was better for the world to remember him that way.
Reinhardt knew the corrupted knight couldn’t hear him or speak. They were simply a husk of their former self, moving according to the will of the corrupted forces. Yet at that moment, a miracle happened.
Something about the stance of the former legend shifted. Like a soldier standing at attention for the last time, he actually paid his respect to the Divine Paladin.
The Ninth Second... Reinhardt brandished his sword. "Rest well, Hero of Solaris."
The Tenth Second... He moved, and time came to a crawling speed. Nevertheless, his blade did not slow down.
Reinhardt used the
Fifth Light
of the
[Holy Blade Arts]: [Divine Severance]
. A single, vertical arc of pure white annihilation cleaved through the air. It was silent. It was beautiful. It was absolute.
Everything it touched, whether it be darkness, corruption, or demonified flesh, it was all erased without a trace.
After cleaving Sir Gerard, the pure white slash continued unabated and disappeared into the horizons of the white world.
ZZZTTT...
At that moment, a split appeared on the seal, and it broke into two halves.
The Seal of Eternal Winter, an ancient prison said to be inescapable, was split apart like fragile glass.
The next moment, before anyone could react, the light blinked out, the ice dissolved, and the world shifted. The snowy wasteland warped, changing into a dark stone floor.
The switch was so abrupt that it made one wonder if the land of eternal winter was just an illusion all along.
