The Knight from the Fairytales-Chapter 23: Features

Chapter 23

When meeting the king, it was completely different from what Beihai had imagined. Corrupted by greed, he had expected something like the legends described - a massive fat dragon lying motionless on a pile of gold coins.
But he never expected it to be a burly, muscular man. Not only did he have sharp, piercing eyes, but he was sitting on a throne made of pure gold, with some broken weapons scattered nearby.
His posture and the way he looked at people as if they were mere ants - truly arrogant and utterly contemptuous.
Completely different from what Beihai had imagined. Due to the elevated position, if not for the glowing eyes, Beihai wouldn't even be able to see his face clearly. At first glance, one might mistake him for a mighty ruler, or rather, a king with strong aggressive tendencies.
The soldiers trembled when they saw the king, not daring to lift their heads.
"We have a guest, and it appears to be a knight. It's been so long since I've seen a knight. You're different from those heroes and those gullible fools."
"Knight, let's make a deal. Swear allegiance to me and make an oath, and I can give you endless wealth, or status."
"Your Majesty, I worked so hard to become a knight not for these things."
"Most of the time, we have to honor our contracts, don't we? We've taken the goods, so we must complete the job."
Most of the time, unless exploiting bugs to break contracts, one still has to honestly fulfill them.
Just like the hunter and the queen - ordered to hunt Snow White, he ultimately broke his oath but brought back a deer's heart as a substitute.
Beihai prepared his move, and before the king could react, he allocated all his attribute points.
Because his starting speed was too fast, it looked like he was flying. He soared into the air like a cannonball, crashing through the city walls and flying into the distance.
He didn't know how far he had flown, only knowing that while he was gripping the other's neck, the king's form suddenly transformed. This transformation seemed irreversible - his neck became incredibly thick, forcibly pushing Beihai's fingers apart.
Finally, putting more strength into his arm, with one strike he sent the king flying into the distance again.
Looking at the enormous dragon body before him, making a comparison, Beihai wasn't even as long as the dragon's claw. This body was massive enough to make Beihai click his tongue in amazement.
"That ring's attribute should at least bring misfortune, so how did it turn you into this state?"
"And for an existence like you, how is there not even a trace of information?"
"It seems besides that curse, after being forged into a ring, there were some special changes."
The enormous dragon head looked down at the ant below. If not for the invincibility during transformation, he would have almost been strangled to death by this guy just now.
"Another clueless challenger coming to die. For a powerful existence like me,"
"Who would dare spread news about me? Even if they did, so what? I'd actually welcome someone spreading rumors,"
"It's just a pity they know they can't defeat me. Even if they spread rumors, they'd just be sending themselves to death for no reason, so gradually they all disappeared."
"Legends are legends because the subjects are already dead, allowing rumors to spread freely without them paying any price. But I'm different!"
Beihai drew the sharp sword gifted by the system. As soon as Remnant Red appeared, the blade glowed red like a fluorescent stick.
Although Remnant Red's body was naturally red, this glow was clearly visible. This dragon could be killed, and the damage would be enhanced!
Now that he had allocated all his stored attribute points to himself, it meant he needed to readjust to the power within his body, but right now there was no need.
Using this weapon to test the waters first, he raised his right hand and instantly swung down. As damage stacked, red sword energy slashed across the dragon's body, the sharp blade scraping against dragon scales and emitting dazzling sparks.
Since Beihai had attacked, the Evil Dragon naturally wouldn't just watch. It immediately spewed flames.
These flames were like volcanic eruptions, blasting massive caverns into the ground, with magma still remaining inside.
All the armor on Beihai's body was completely burned away, and the little dragon in his embrace successfully landed on the ground, looking around confused.
Beihai silently held Remnant Red, only somewhat troubled by his naked body.
"For a powerful existence like you, if you hadn't encountered me..."
The Evil Dragon was slightly surprised seeing Beihai like this. Was this even human? Surviving that attack? Did he receive some kind of blessing?
Although the Evil Dragon had three consecutive doubts, it believed the advantage was on its side!
Don't panic. The prophesied chosen one hasn't appeared yet. He definitely couldn't die to this random challenger.
Plus, according to the prophecy, the highest probability would appear in his own half-dragon bloodline, meaning his descendants. Although greedy by nature and dragons being inherently lustful, he had long cut off that thing below his waist.
Having made such great sacrifices and renunciations, he deserved to be invincible!
Beihai picked up a few stones below, but because he didn't control his strength properly, he directly crushed them into powder. This was quite troublesome. Although attribute points could boost power explosively,
each time required careful control. When strength increased, the physical body naturally had to keep up, otherwise how could one wield this power?
Beihai sighed, having to change direction. He slightly crouched then jumped up, landing on the giant dragon's head.
This process happened extremely fast. Even though the dragon's eyes saw it, its body hadn't completely reacted yet. By the time it reacted, it was already too late.
Plus, being on the head, its two short claws couldn't reach, so it could only shake its head wildly.
Beihai grabbed the dragon's horn and forcibly tore it off.
"Indeed, the problem isn't with the weapon, but there's something special about you, right? I've seen in the kingdom's books that"
"the reason dragons are difficult to defeat is because their bodies have certain special properties that make them immune to weapons. And humans mostly rely on their own weapons or divine arms for combat."
"Dealing with dragon species like you is indeed troublesome. This is when the classic scenario of heroes defeating evil dragons plays out - either receiving blessings or having some predestined prophecy."
Although he could attack the dragon's eyes, for humans this was extremely difficult, mostly limited to sneak attacks.
But Beihai could exploit this bug. You're immune to weapons? That's fine, I have brute strength. To be precise, anyone else
would suffer losses against this giant dragon because no matter how much they trained, they couldn't develop this kind of power,
unless they obtained some buff-enhanced holy sword, or received blessings granting immense strength.
The dragon was wailing, even feeling fear - the genuine fear of death. This guy was simply not human!
