The Knight from the Fairytales-Chapter 30: This Is Just Inhuman

Chapter 30

After kicking the door open, he casually pulled a plastic bag over his head, his movements instantly becoming rough and aggressive.
"Elsa, don't speak for a moment. Watch my performance, or you can act a bit more pitiful. Think about your past life. This time, we're going to save a big sister."
After giving the instructions, Elsa immediately lowered her head, seemingly steeling her emotions.
As for Beihai's kick, it was naturally impossible to ignore. The tremendous noise caused the occupants of the house to rush out in a panic.
The first to emerge from the room were two young women. They wore dresses, their faces rather plain, looking somewhat old-fashioned.
They couldn't be called pretty; they were a bit ugly, though not to the point of being tragic. The moment these two came out, Beihai could guess they were Cinderella's stepmother's two daughters.
Compared to these two who came out without any regard for their image, the Wicked Stepmother's entrance was utterly unflustered, instead very composed, even carrying a hint of elegance.
Of course, this wasn't strange. She was, after all, a noblewoman. She must have learned some noble etiquette, things like remaining calm under pressure.
"I wonder what we can do to help you? Everything can be discussed properly."
"Hahahaha! The King I serve needs women of suitable age to become his Queen! This is the highest honor!
Although my King has some minor... quirks, I believe women from noble families should be able to accept them."
Beihai's speech became bold and somewhat aggressive. His eyes wandered over the stepmother's two daughters, seeming to appraise or perhaps admire them.
Those two hadn't grasped the seriousness of the situation. They even felt inexplicably excited. A Queen! A Queen would wear gold and silver, never worry about food or drink, have money and wealth to spend however she wished, an endless supply!
The Wicked Stepmother, however, seemed to understand what her two daughters were truly like. You see, the reason people feel jealousy is because they clearly recognize what they themselves lack.
What they don't have, others possess naturally. Whether it's that beauty or that angelic heart, these were the points of their envy.
You're so beautiful, fine, but the key is your heart is also so good.
So, observing them closely, what kind of virtues did those two have? As their mother, how could she not know?
Forget about behavior and character, which lacked any noble bearing.
Just their looks alone, what King would fancy them?
So when Beihai's eyes wandered, it subconsciously made her feel something was wrong.
"May I be so bold as to ask..."
Playing it safe, she wanted to inquire. For example, does your King have any... perverse preferences? Which number Queen would this be?
But the words reached her lips, half-spoken, and she found it difficult to voice them. After all, the King's representative was right here. Openly saying such things could easily provoke a conflict.
There were no Guards here now. If a man's rage was stirred, a few weak women couldn't stop him.
In most cases, it was through rumors and gossip that people would inquire and learn about such things, allowing them to take precautions.
For example, in the story of Ali Baba, everyone knew the King would marry a new bride and kill her after one night. Everyone knew about that.
But this sudden arrival... she really hadn't heard any news about it at all.
"What are you hesitating for? Become Queen and enjoy all the riches and honor. In the future, you'll be one among three thousand beauties."
Beihai didn't hesitate. He took out gold coins and began scattering them extravagantly. Many coins fell to the ground, making the Wicked Stepmother narrow her eyes.
That one sentence made her think of many things. The simplest: an old King, a corrupt King. His looks certainly wouldn't be good, definitely fat-headed and big-eared. Whether the kingdom was wealthy or not aside, it had probably already begun to fall into chaos.
This was the inherent impression. But no one turns down money. As long as she could torment Cinderella, she was very willing.
She had long been displeased with that girl. So, sell her off! She could gain a sum of money and get rid of that troublesome creature.
Finally, she directly revealed a smile and walked down quickly. "Rest assured, I have a candidate here. A girl of suitable age."
"Hmm, good. I see her."
"You misunderstand. Not these two. Wait a moment, just a moment."
It must be said, the Wicked Stepmother was indeed not good to Cinderella, but she was truly faultless towards her own flesh and blood, these two ugly daughters.
Most crucially, the estate that originally belonged to Cinderella's inheritance was already beginning to become unsustainable.
They couldn't stand Cinderella. First, they wanted to bully her, to have an outlet for their frustrations. Second, they wanted to swallow up her inheritance. After devouring it, they treated Cinderella even more harshly, disliking her even more.
In the movie, after they obtained the Magic Wand, they also said they wanted wealth, because they were truly out of money.
Interestingly, in the novel, these individuals didn't end well. Birds pecked out their eyes, making them blind.
In the movie, one of these daughters was redeemed. The remaining two were turned into toads.
Seeing the stepmother push open a door, pull her two daughters behind it, and mutter something unintelligible, those two emerged with expressions no longer as excited as before, even beginning to show some fear.
On the other side, she was doing "thought work" on Cinderella, referred to as puv.
"Ella! Ella, you work so hard every day. I see it constantly. In my heart, I always feel some guilt towards you.
So, here is an opportunity. I've found you a husband. Countless people want to marry into that family. Once you go over, you'll surely enjoy all the riches and honor."
Saying this, she thought to herself that it wasn't entirely wrong. Though it might be lonely and boring, and there might be some violence...
But she had said, just enjoy the wealth.
This line, Ella, that is, Cinderella, really fell for.
In the story, when the King ordered all unmarried women to go to the palace to dance with the Prince and seek a spouse,
Ella received the letter and naturally wanted to attend. The stepmother told her just like this: I don't seem to have any reason to refuse you. If you can complete all the tasks, then you can go.
After completing them, she added: You don't seem to have a gown. Ella then made a dress from curtains.
She then declared, this is our family's property. You're nothing but a thief. Then she tore the gown to shreds and strode away.
During this time, Cinderella believed her stepmother's words a full two times, and might even have believed a third time.
"Can I really?" Ella asked, somewhat disbelieving.
"Of course you can. No one is more suitable than you."
The stepmother pressed Ella down at the dressing table. Before her was a mirror. She stroked Ella's face.
"Look how beautiful."
The more she looked, the more her heart filled with jealous fire. Subconsciously, she wanted to scratch it with her nails, but thinking of the fellow below, she restrained herself.
What if she couldn't fetch a good price? It's just a pity. All the cleaning work in the manor was done by her alone. If she leaves, wouldn't that mean extra expenses?
To avoid any accidents, she forcibly pulled Ella out of the room.
Finally, Beihai saw the girl in tattered clothes before him and his mouth twitched. This family... they truly weren't treating her like a human being!
