The Max Level Hero Has Returned!-Chapter 1185

Chapter 1185
Despite the pouring rain, the campfire refused to go out. It was truly a curious sight indeed.
However, it didn’t take long to notice that the fire wasn’t simply resisting the rain, with the campfire itself having somehow been treated with a kind of special coating.
[Dude, how’s the fire still going with all that rain?]
[Right? LOL it’s just blazing like it gives no fucks LOL]
[Why are they dancing so damn joyfully lololols]
The trio dancing in circles around the fire showed no trace of tension or gloom over their situation on the island.
“Stop it! The signal’s back and I’m live streaming. What are you doing?!” Evangeline shouted with a beet red face.
However, Yuria simply continued dancing and extended a hand toward her as if she couldn’t care less. “Miss, would you like to dance with us?”
“Wait, why are you even dancing?”

Huh?
Doesn’t it just feel like the kind of moment where you should dance?”
Her answer was pathetic beyond belief.
Saying she was just going with the vibe and following her mood was something Evangeline couldn’t comprehend at all.
“You’re dancing like that, in those outfits, in the middle of the rain, just because of the vibe? And you, Marky—you just watched it happen?”
“Just give up and enjoy it. It’s easier.”
That reply made Evangeline feel like her brain had been struck by lightning. “Whatever! The stream is connected now!”
Hearing that, all three of them visibly lit up.
“Rinne evaluates fast work highly!”
“Oh my, that’s a relief. Then, let’s celebrate with another dance—”
“No, thank you!”
Feeling dizzy, Evangeline turned her focus back to the stream. The most important thing at that moment was to let her dad know what was going on.
“Mister. You’re there, right?”
Ding.
Manager – Yes, Eva. I’m watching. Your father is already looking for you, so don’t worry too much.
Hearing his message, laced with calm reassurance, was like a ray of light cutting through the deep abyss for Evangeline.
“You’re the best, Mister! So, this island is...” She went on to explain roughly what kind of place the island was, and how the situation had gotten weird, making it impossible to leave.
Al Hajat then said he would inform Davey of the situation and logged off the stream.

Haaah.
So I guess we can just wait now.”
[Wait, boss. So you’re filming a real survival show now? A deserted island GG]
[Been watching streams for years, but getting isekai’d midstream is a first LOL. Always some legendary moment from you LOL]
“I don’t like it, okay?”
Sure, it was good that a rescue signal got sent out, but it was a dimensional circle that had sent the four there. From the looks of it, Davey had already started using various means to track her down the moment she disappeared.
‘But if it’s taking Dad this long to find me, then where the heck am I really?’
She furrowed her brow, genuinely confused about what was going on.
Even though he drank a lot and was always randomly hugging her or kissing her on the cheek with that alcohol smell, she knew how much her dad cherished and loved her.
‘I miss you, Dad...’
When that thought flickered through her mind, she quickly pulled herself together.
If he was already looking for her, the least she could do was show that she was safe and holding it together.
She began to contemplate how she could show just that.
Her gaze turned toward the screen.
[Boss... you’re not gonna end the stream now, right?]
[You’re gonna stay live, yeah? Right??]
Even though she had literally crashed onto a deserted island, there were still idiots in the chat trying to cross the line with jokes. However, she didn’t ban them.
After all, their reactions were understandable, probably a mix of realizing that the Saint of Tionis was actively searching for her along with watching those lunatics dance around the fire like they were in a festival.
‘Actually, this works out pretty well. If I want to show I’m doing okay, the stream has to feel light and cheerful.’
Resolving herself, she nodded several times. “Luckily the signal’s holding, though I don’t know why. Still, since I don’t know when it’ll cut off, I’m going to keep the stream running.”
That was enough.
* * *
For some unknown reason, the signal never cut off again. The island and her tablet continued to receive a steady signal without any issue.
They, of course, tried to use that signal to pinpoint the island’s location, but the only answer they could come to was that it wasn’t realistically possible.
There were plenty of problems when one was stranded on a deserted island. There was the constant struggle with hunger from a lack of food; the unrelenting thirst without clean water; and the need to build shelter for rest and to defend against outside threats.
There were plenty of survival issues to consider, yet for Evangeline, none of those were the biggest problem.
“I’m just so bored...”
Right when she had finally started having fun with life again, she’d gotten dropped onto a completely empty island. The boredom was unbearable.
[Honestly, it’d be easier if you were hungry or low on water or something.]
[But like, what IS the gourmet research society even? What are they doing that they ended up building a pool on a deserted island...]
She glanced at Rinne and Yuria, who had dug furiously into the hard ground to construct an in-ground pool.
They were the ones responsible for the absurd situation.
Sure, securing safety was nice, but they were so competent at their survival tasks that the only thing Evangeline could do was sit around staring out at the ocean.
Not far away, Marky sat with a deep scowl as she tried to mold clay into bowls. “
Ugh!
I failed again!”
She ground her teeth in frustration, and Evangeline seriously began to wonder if she was even looking at the same Butterfly Empress who once despised humans.
“You’re right. With nothing to do, the boredom is driving me insane.”
Fortunately, she had at least figured out how to charge her tablet. While it wasn’t easy to control, by carefully channeling her lightning energy she had managed to keep it going.
Just then, Yuria climbed out of the pool and called out to her, “Miss, can you help me with something?”
Evangeline sprang up instantly, relieved and excited that there was finally something she could do.
Yuria led her to a semi-basement storage space Rinne had casually constructed.
“This place... It’s for storing meat?”
“Exactly. If we just left it all sitting around, it’d spoil, so we brought back some rock salt.”
She pulled out some coarse salt crystals from who-knows-where. Evangeline looked at her with uncertainty.
Yuria, on the other hand, lightly licked the salt and immediately grimaced. “
Bleh!
Too salty!”
[Salt being salty, imagine that LOL]
[Look at the scale and quality of that storage room tho. Are they survival experts or what?]
“We’re going to cure the meat with salt to keep it from going bad.”
Yuria began pouring salt into a large wooden basket and then placing the meat inside. Just watching the process made Evangeline feel icky, though she kept her eyes glued to the fascinating process.
“This really keeps it from spoiling?”
“For a while, yes. I’ll make you some tasty smoked meat for dinner.”
“No bugs!”
“B-But they’re so tasty...”
Seeing her smack her lips in disappointment, Evangeline instantly understood that if she hadn’t objected, she would’ve surely had a caterpillar for dinner.
“If you try to feed me worms even one more time, I’m gonna get mad.”
“Miss, in a real survival scenario, those worms might prove necessary to consume,” Yuria gently scolded her, and Evangeline’s face twisted.
“I know, but... not right now. Dad’s coming soon.”
Yuria suddenly dropped her smile and asked quietly, “How long do you plan to rely on his help for everything?”
Evangeline had no idea how to respond. “That's...”
“Miss, he loves you deeply. Yes, he doesn't want you to suffer. But the way this world works—especially for someone like you who tends to get caught up in chaos—means you can’t waste chances like this.”
Using her deft hands, she continued to process the meat and separate the gathered plants, explaining each one’s characteristics to Evangeline as she went.
“To everyone watching the stream, sorry in advance. Consider this an educational episode.”
[LOL I enjoy survival shows, but variety shows slap too]
[No but seriously, the way Yuria’s talking... She sounds like a total pro.]
Surprisingly, the viewers didn’t seem to mind at all.
The stream ran for another two days. During that time, Yuria and Rinne dragged Evangeline all over the island, showing off bits of knowledge and surprising life hacks.
[This is peak survival pro content.]
[I still can’t believe they trapped that animal yesterday. I’m still shook.]
Ding!
[Koala has donated 5,000 Won]
- This is like literal pro survival content LOL. Maybe it’s because no ordinary streamer ever does anything like this... I’ve been watching for hours LOL
Hearing a woman’s voice in the text-to-speech narration, Evangeline thought it was probably for the best after all.
“That’s why you should take this opportunity to learn.”
“Do you really think I’ll ever be stranded on a deserted island again in my life?”
“You never know. Gracious Savior even once said that you needed to go through something like this at least once. Maybe it’s better this way, don’t you think?”
“Well, I don’t like it.”
“But there’s no harm in learning, right? You said you’re not a child who needs protection anymore.” Yuria left her with no room to argue. “Standing on your own two feet isn’t exactly easy.”
After saying that, Yuria taught Evangeline various things from all kinds of survival disciplines.
How to butcher meat; how to obtain it; how to manage and store it; and how to tell if something was poisonous.
The tips she shared were small, but surprisingly insightful—things most people wouldn’t even think of.
“It’s done.”
“Should we store it now?” Yuria asked her.
“Why are you making a fire if we’re not going to eat it right away?”
“To smoke it using the smoke,” she answered as she showed off a half-finished batch of jerky.
[FriedOrbamu has donated 69,420 Won]
-
Wait, survival pro Yuria... but aren’t elves supposed to not eat meat?
That question made the viewers pause and recall their stereotypical images of elves.
[Yeah, aren’t they usually just munching on grass or something?]
“Vegetarian...? I suppose so. Most elves probably are. But,” Yuria replied with a cheerful smile, “It’s not like eating meat will kill us. And seriously, who’d willingly skip out on something
this
good?”
Again, she left no room to argue.
After that, Evangeline left the storage area with Yuria and began to feel more and more accustomed to their new way of life.
It was inconvenient, sure, but surprisingly kind of fun.

Ah,
Miss. I’ll cook this, so could you bring me some firewood in the meantime?”
Knowing that she would feel restless unless she was doing something, Evangeline nodded without protest. “Okay.”
She headed toward the supply shed. The walls were built with bamboo-like timber, and there were sturdy columns holding up the structure. The shed looked so solid that it was hard to believe the place had been completely empty just days before.
“At first, I really felt hopeless. Yet now that Dad’s coming to get us and we’ve been managing to take care of ourselves for a few days, it’s actually kind of fun. Like we’re on a camping trip.”
Her comment made the viewers chuckle.
Clunk!
Suddenly, she felt a presence in the shed where no one should’ve been. Startled, she crouched low and drew the divine dragon sword Twilight.
“D-Did anyone else hear that?”
The sound had been loud enough for anyone nearby to hear.
They were stranded on a deserted island with nothing in sight. She knew it wasn’t the presence of any wild animal, yet she also knew that there was no reason she should be sensing another person.
[It could be a cannibal? I heard deserted islands have those.]
Evangeline shook her head fiercely. “Don’t say scary stuff like that.”
Tensing up, she slowly crept forward with silent footsteps. Something about that presence felt familiar to the one she’d sensed the first time she had gotten a signal on her tablet.
She began to wonder if the same presence from back then was watching her again.
Approaching cautiously, she soon realized something was crouched inside the shed rustling around. It had a giant bear pelt draped over it, and was eating the sweet potatoes they had stored.
She was frozen speechless.
An intruder!
Someone besides them.
As soon as she realized the implication, she dashed forward and pointed her sword at the figure.
“Don’t move.”
It had only been a few days, but she was already growing attached to their base camp. She had then suddenly found an intruder in the precious haven they had built.
Of course she was furious!
She pressed the sharp blade closer, fiercely warning with a growl, “Back away. Now turn around.”
The figure, who had been casually gathering up the sweet potatoes, froze. Then, instead of turning, it stomped the ground with tremendous force.
Boom!!

Kyah?!

The shockwave startled her, making her stumble back. At that moment, the figure crashed through the wooden window without hesitation and bolted away. He had run off with the stuff they’d worked so hard to gather.
Enraged, she locked onto the fleeing figure and lowered herself into a sprinter’s starting stance.
Boom!!
She shot forward in pursuit. However, the intruder moved at a speed beyond imagination.
Evangeline had fortunately been drawing a considerable amount of energy through the stream and her viewers, so she wasn’t falling behind either.
“Stop! I said stop right there!” she shouted furiously, a vein twitching in her forehead. “So you’re just gonna keep running,
huh?

Having made her decision, she gripped Twilight and took a stance to draw and slash in one singular motion, summoning explosive power.
Without hesitation, she unleashed a strike at the thief.
[Longsword]
[Splitting the Mountains]
A massive blade tore through the air once she launched her attack. No average intruder could’ve survived it.

Kyu.
*
Boom!!
Then something unbelievable happened.
The figure, still hidden under the massive bear pelt, turned and deflected her attack with a colossal fist, then simply vanished.
Evangeline stood still, stunned from what had happened, and stared at the direction the figure had disappeared into.
[What the heck?]
[Did that thing just deflect the attack? I legit didn’t even see it happen, it was so fast gg]
[What if that island is seriously dangerous??]
[For real though...]
Shocked and worried comments filled the chat. What Evangeline said next was entirely different from what the viewers expected.
“That thief stole the sweet potatoes I spent two days digging up?! That’s it! This means war! War!” Fuming, she turned around and marched away back to base camp. “We’re going to war!”
Rinne, who had been carving wood; Yuria, eating fruit; and Marky, freshly returned from their in-ground pool after noticing her disapproving glare, all turned to face her.
“What do you mean, Miss?”
“There was an intruder! A thief! That damned thief stole the sweet potatoes I worked so hard to dig up!”
Evangeline remained completely unaware of how much she had changed during her time on the island.
