A small action from Kayden made the kings before him react extremely brutally—they detonated their souls with maximum force, throwing everything into the air on all sides. Kayden felt his presence completely suppressed by a kind of soul mantle, but…
CRACK!With a single movement Kayden was able to inflict insane pain upon his opponents. He was literally facing two prodigies of the soul, but he was a master who had lived for an incalculable span of years. His experience was vastly superior to theirs—even in his current condition he was capable of destroying these two in just a few moves."One more move and I will truly treat this as a fight of life and death," Kayden said with complete calm, while the Kerians were fighting two battles.
The first was to control their emotions—the movements of Kayden were utterly insane to them for the simple reason that he touched their souls. That could literally cause them damage at that level, more specifically their soulmates were in danger. Their reactions were completely irrational at that moment. It took several long minutes before the two magicians calmed down enough to respond rationally. After that, they had to fight the second battle in their minds—what should they do now? The two brought dozens and hundreds of alternatives, but all were clouded when they thought of what Kayden might do."Who are you? Forgive our reaction. We hope you are understanding." Kayden nodded and smiled.
"Don't worry. Your reactions were completely normal and understandable." Kayden truly thought so; defending oneself against a threat before it grew was the minimum for a king. "And as I already said earlier, my name is Kayden Heart." At that moment Kayden played his final card—his two titles granted by the heavens.
This gesture once again made a wave of silence permeate the environment. Neither of them knew what to do—their minds were trying with all their strength to decipher what was happening. Those titles, and that name…"The mage of legends? We thought you didn't even exist." Pedro Kerian replied after a few minutes where they had been thinking.
"Time becomes tiny after awhile," Kayden answered while reflecting on his lifespan. Of all the madness within it, the fact that Kayden was still a mortal was the most absurd.Honestly Kayden did not remember ever seeing or hearing of a mortal as old as he was—not even Han and Achilles came close. When they were born Kayden was already an extremely old magician; when they were becoming adults Kayden already had the age to be their first ancestor.
"What are you doing here?" Kayden received this question and didn't quite know what to say besides smiling."Lost across the universe, I would say.""Universe… you came from outside, Master Kayden?" A respectful tone emerged in the conversation after a few brief interactions."What do you mean outside? I have been asleep for a long time." Kayden confirmed his theory that this was that closed world from before in the next sentence.
"We live in an isolated world from true reality—only those who become gods can leave this place." Kayden nodded."You two are natives here, aren't you?" Kayden could feel some very specific variations in the two souls that were one."We are—born and raised in the ancient ice age." The two spoke with pride of their roots. Kayden nodded, having no idea what that ice age they spoke of was.
"What do you know about outside? Any news about the divine king?" Kayden was direct."The divine king of chaos is the absolute monarch." Kayden already expected that. "We salute the divine king of chaos." A certain presence appeared in the environment but without actually appearing—it was as if it was only watching where it was mentioned.
"How is Atherion?" His question made the two somewhat confused—they didn't quite understand what type of question Kayden was asking."Normal. The districts are governed by the personalities of the divine monarch—each one has a district. Currently there are no major wars since the last peace agreement." Kayden was a little surprised by this, but it was just a random detail.
"How strong is each district?" Kayden saw the two shake their heads."We don't know. Normally the magicians who enter here do not possess much high-level information." Kayden nodded in agreement.
"I propose a mutual working deal between us," he said after gaining some information, going straight to the main subject. "I help you consolidate your souls more properly and with fewer breaches"—in the first interaction between them Kayden had pressed one of the breaches in front of the two—"and in exchange you teach me everything you are capable of about this process of yours."
The two heard Kayden's proposal and immediately began discussing among themselves. It was funny that the fact their souls were united meant there was no disagreement between them, but it also allowed each one to bring different ideas and the two to debate. It did not take long for each of them to weigh the pros and cons of this offer—it was extremely tempting, actually. Kayden was a living legend before their eyes; moreover, he had already proven he had the capacity to debate about souls.
"We accept." Kayden smiled and pulled a chair from his spatial inventory and also took out some of his good old tea—a spice that had crossed eras along with him.One of the Kerians went to organize the world and the new world order; meanwhile the other spent the entire time discussing with Kayden. It took only a few months for them to realize this was the best decision of their lives—the knowledge of Kayden was insane, something completely bizarre. It seemed as if he had already walked every path.
The two were only discussing the Kerian soulmate matter—it seemed there wasn't a single moment where Kayden gained anything with it, but in truth his gains were also insane. With every second he was able to formulate the idea in his mind better.
