Chapter 705

It was funny that the longer Kayden lived, the more he understood how pathetic he truly was, how much he could still grow, how much knowledge he still lacked. This short time he spent in the void increased his understanding of reality by dozens of times.
What he learned was very similar to his technique of teleporting using the flows of space within worlds. He was learning to walk through the universe, to read the lines that were written and make minimal changes that would result in insane alterations in the grand scheme of things.
After an uncountable amount of time, Kayden stopped studying the universe around him. He had reached a maximum ceiling of what he was capable of learning at that moment. Some details were missing that did not seem easily attachable to his knowledge; they were the small details that would make the difference.
BOOOOOM!
Kayden shattered a kind of glass and found himself falling into a completely different world. He was in the middle of a study session when it happened; without any warning, he appeared in a completely new world.
The world was composed of irregular solid masses, like smooth rocks floating close to the ground, while the surface displayed deep cracks that emanated a dull and constant light. The sky was heavy and low, formed by dense layers that resembled petrified clouds, motionless and silent. Natural structures similar to columns appeared at random, with cold and slightly reflective surfaces. The air was thick, making breathing difficult and transmitting the physical sensation of continuous pressure over the body.
It was a world different from Atherion and from where Kayden had previously been. The laws in that environment were a bit heavier; in fact, everything there was heavier. Every small part resulted in insane pressure on Kayden, even the air itself seemed to be pressing against him.
It was a world entirely focused on pressure, a world aimed at physical mages, but it was also a world focused on the mind, because the pressure was complete and absolute. It came from all sides and in all forms. It had been a very long time since Kayden had felt this heavy, as if everything around him was working to kill him.
Kayden laughed and released his path after an insane amount of time. A scepter appeared in his hands, a crown appeared on his head, and a cloak appeared on his back, all black with small red details. Every small component exuded an absurd aura; each of them seemed to be the presence of a complete god in the world.
Reality had not seen the law of the monarch of the self at its peak for a very long time, practically since he had managed to consolidate it. The surrounding laws recoiled, almost as if they were afraid. Kayden's presence made the entire world feel him instantly; within seconds, dozens of mortals and gods appeared around him.
Space contracted around Kayden, opening dense and silent fissures. Figures emerged from them, some heavy and solid, others wrapped in compressed energy. The ground sank beneath their presences. In moments, the world was filled with peak mortal mages and several gods as well. All of them were absolute geniuses, but… most of them were monarchs; Kayden could feel the path of the monarch in the majority of them.
One of the gods who appeared was a giant frog dressed in dark clothes. He was at the third divine level, one of the strongest gods of that world, alive and reigning for generations. Kayden's presence was a disrespect to him and to everyone around, the difference being that he was the fastest to make a move, something all the gods would also do in the following seconds, but….
"Die." Kayden snapped his fingers and the universe ceased to exist for a second as everything was converted into… energy. No… it was not energy, something was different from previous times.
Everything was converted into a law, more specifically into the law of the monarch of the self. After that, it was converted into an insane bolt with green, black, and red tones. It was a perfect mixture of Kayden's law with karmic law. That bolt destroyed reality even further and in the blink of an eye completely consumed the god. He did not even have time to react; he could not even lift a finger or manipulate a single law.
Gods at that level possessed dozens of ways to escape death, but he was completely destroyed. There was not even a single word afterward. Everyone around fell completely silent while trying to understand what had happened. Kayden, meanwhile, evaluated the full extent of his power; his hands were trembling slightly and his soul…
Was slightly damaged. Kayden was wielding too much power for a mortal. He should not be capable of doing something like that, and this time he truly understood that he was reaching the limit of the mortal realm, the true limit where his own soul was not capable of enduring such a high level of power.
The leap in strength he had achieved since the last time he fully used his path was insane. They were two different worlds; it seemed as if he had never truly used his path until today. It was amusing how the law of the monarch of the self available in that world began to crawl toward Kayden, as if it recognized its creator.
"Kayden Heart??!?" One of the gods looked at Kayden and asked directly. He did not need much to recognize him. That god had followed Kayden's path, and that allowed him to know some secrets of the past, one of them being about the true master of that law.
After the god spoke that name, no one made any movement, because that name was common. There were trillions of Kayden Heart spread throughout the universe, but all those who followed his path there recognized him after a few seconds.
The way their own paths felt minuscule in comparison to Kayden was insane. Their very souls were recognizing Kayden, recognizing that they were standing before the first of them, the original mage of their paths.
In the following minutes, many of them began to kneel before Kayden. Of all the mages present there, at least seventy percent had grown through Kayden's law. The rest were mages with their own paths, something Kayden respected far more than those pathetic copies around him.
"You took a while." The librarian's voice appeared.
