Chapter 709

Chapter 709: Insatiable
Even the most talented mortal was not as capable as a god when it came to talent. Even if there were mortals capable of killing gods, they were not more talented than gods in a direct comparison; it was only when the difference in status between them was taken into account that the true difference in talent became clear.
An ordinary divine talent was superior to that of a peak mortal, yet that ordinary divine talent would not even be capable of accomplishing anything while remaining at the divine level. It was practically like a football championship: a mediocre player from the top leagues was infinitely superior to one from the secondary leagues, but within his own league he was nothing, and when a talent from the secondary league rose up, he would be completely overshadowed.
That was what was happening at that moment. Kayden’s talent reached the highest level history had ever seen; his mind became infinitely superior to everything that had ever existed. It took only a few seconds for him to completely master his law—something that would easily have taken trillions of years was done in the blink of an eye.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
Kayden launched another attack, and this time it was twice as strong. The space it reached was doubled, the destruction was far greater. In a single movement, he corrected hundreds of errors and refined small details; in just a few seconds, his mind was capable of performing all of that processing, and...
SWISHP!
The sound of something being torn was heard this time; it was no longer an explosion. Kayden’s strike restrained all of its force and simply cut through everything. Once again, it was infinitely superior to his previous blow. This talent... was not something that should ever be granted to a mortal; it was not something that even a god would easily possess.
Kayden fully mastered his Path of the Monarch of Oneself. Everything that had taken him trillions of years to perfect was completely shaped in that moment. This was the peak of his soul; the peak of his path at that moment was insane. It was a level that no mortal had ever even come close to reaching.
The current divine king had been stronger when he was still a mortal, but... he did not possess the capacity to grow much beyond what he had been in that era as a mortal. When he became a god, there was no longer anywhere for him to grow as a mortal—but Kayden? He could grow practically infinitely. His soul did not need to ascend to become more capable.
When everyone thought it was over, Kayden did something even more insane. He began to pull chaos toward himself. The Law of Chaos answered his call like a child—something no mortal should ever be capable of doing, something that not even in the wildest dreams of the surrounding gods had been expected. Yet Kayden did it. All of that chaotic law began to be completely transformed into energy by him.
The amount of energy he was able to channel was completely insane; it was something Kayden had never seen in his entire life. Half of his body was destroyed in an explosion of energy; burns turned parts of his flesh into ashes, all of it due to the sheer quantity of energy.
Kayden had already held the energy of an entire universe in his hands, yet even so he was unable to control the energy that even a small portion of chaos granted him. It was trillions of times raised to other trillions of times greater than the energy of an entire universe. It took all of his strength for him to survive that quantity of energy; even his soul was attacked in several places.
CLAP! CLAP! CLAP!
"Congratulations, Kayden Heart," the divine king began to clap. "My days seem to be numbered." With those words, the god disappeared quickly. He had nothing more to see in that place, and Kayden was untouchable as a mortal.
With the amount of karma Kayden carried on his back at that moment, it was dangerous even for a celestial to descend to defend him if any god decided to try to touch him. There was no way for this man to die under the heavens at that time.
"Lord Kayden, accept this gift as a gesture of friendship." That phrase began to be spoken repeatedly as the gods gave Kayden dozens of gifts. Each of them was at a bizarre level, ranging from seeds of the Celestial World Tree to stones that had been born alongside existence itself—things that only those who had witnessed the first laws of all universes being created possessed.
Kayden did not respond to anyone and did not make any action at all. He was merely looking over his options and thinking about what to do. With his new capacity, it did not take him long to see what he would do at that moment; it seemed as if everything came to him magically and without any difficulty.
There was only one way for him to become a god: he needed to completely master the karmic law and integrate it into his own, turning his law into a sum superior to the karmic law. The issue was that to do this he would have to consume an insane amount of energy to perform his tests—insane to the point that trillions of universes would be consumed during that period.
Fortunately, Kayden did not care in the slightest about that. All other plans in his mind were abandoned; there was no sense in wasting time on random things that would not lead him to the peak he truly desired. The problem was that in that environment, he would not be able to do it.
"Lord Librarian, could you take me back to that place?" That world would be perfect for Kayden; it was a complete universe with several connections to other universes, perfect for his future.
His request was accepted immediately, and in the blink of an eye he was in the world from which he had been taken. Kayden smiled, and... the entire world disappeared, with all the living beings within it being killed. Meanwhile, in the void, chaos reigned among the gods.
"He is a real threat," the Librarian commented to Thoth.
"I am incapable of placing my bets on him. The Law of Chaos is too strong within him; the future is far too uncertain. I am unable to foresee the future with him alive." That realization made the surrounding gods nod in agreement.
"The distant future has been cut from my visions as well. I am as blind as a mortal." One of the gods was a famous oracle, more capable than Thoth in such matters, and even so, he was unable.
