The Ruined World Was Mistaken for a Game-Chapter 115: Faith (5)

Translator: Dreamscribe
Giant Realm.
It wasn’t anything particularly special. It was a concept commonly seen in the famous Gulliver’s Travels, various movies, and games. In a way, it might have even felt a little cliched. But if this was a virtual reality where one could actually touch and experience it, then the story changed.
It was a world that felt incredibly fresh.
No, it wasn’t just fresh, it was shocking. Even frightening. It was merely that everything was tremendously bigger, and yet it made them more tense than when they faced monsters.
“W-We must absolutely not startle those ants.”
“I think we’re already fucked.”
At UruBear’s words, the Hero next to him replied that way. The ants began to gather one by one toward the Heroes. Their sharp mandibles looked as if they could tear into the Heroes' flesh at any moment. When over ten of those ants gathered in an instant, an overwhelming pressure was felt.
The worker ants were level 70, and the larger soldier ants were level 80.
Haebyul drew her bowstring, fully tense. They could handle all the ants present here, but if more came, it would be unmanageable.
“Wahaha!”
Laughter rang out from the side.
LifeHunter, riding on the back of a soldier ant, was laughing loudly as he controlled the ant. A shadow emitted from his hand became a leash around the ant’s neck.
Swoosh!
As LifeHunter threw a dagger at the ground, a shadow spread out and reached the feet of every Hero.
[D]Shadow Pheromone
The Shadow Hunter has coated the ant’s pheromones onto a shadow. While the pheromone remains, the user is recognized as a fellow ant.
The ants tilted their heads and looked at the Heroes, then turned their heads away. Jam-sik looked at LifeHunter and gave him a thumbs-up.
“Kyah! As expected of hyungnim!”
-That’s worthy of a hidden class
-Shadow Hunter ㄷㄷ
-Kyah! Now that’s hunting!
LifeHunter had undergone a second class change to Shadow Hunter. It was a class that could only be obtained by hunting every monster in Arsilan perfectly without taking any damage. Since the conditions were disclosed, it couldn’t be called hidden, but aside from LifeHunter, no other hunter had become a Shadow Hunter.
“Pick one and get on.”
At LifeHunter’s words, the hunters cautiously approached the ants and climbed onto their backs. LifeHunter had already completed the taming of the soldier ants.
“Shall we try riding one too?”
“Hmm....”
As Haebyul and UruBear carefully climbed onto the ants, all the Heroes ended up mounting the ants.
Lastly, Jinwoo climbed onto a worker ant. When LifeHunter led the way, the ants carrying the Heroes began to follow him.
“They’re fast.”
"Ugh, eugh! The texture feels weird."
“It’s more comfortable than I thought. Pretty stable.”
-That’s pure romance.
-Can you bring those into Arsilan?
-If you tame them, maybe it’s possible?
-Praise the Creator God!
The ants’ mobility was excellent. They could scale almost any terrain. Haebyul pulled a ribbon from her inventory and tied it on the ant’s head. Seeing that, the Heroes took out dye and began coloring the ants’ bodies in various shades.
They were already growing attached!
Jinwoo maneuvered his worker ant to approach LifeHunter’s side.
“Do you have a plan?”
“Finding a place to stay comes first.”
At Jinwoo’s question, LifeHunter looked around and answered.
“The Quest was to stop the Dark Priest and resurrect the Giant race, right?”
“Yeah. For now, we need to investigate more. If we move around, clues will probably turn up.”
LifeHunter began skillfully searching for a place they could stay. Since there were various threats lurking around, it had to be reviewed carefully.
“Oh? That looks like a strawberry.”
“It’s huge.”
“Let’s pick it!”
When a mage used Wind Cutter to pick the strawberry, a giant strawberry fell to the ground. The Heroes cut it with their weapons and tasted the flesh.
"Wow! This is insane."
“Now this is fantasy!”
As the Heroes grabbed the fruit flesh in both hands and stuffed it into their mouths, juice burst out like an explosion. With their faces dyed red from strawberry juice, they looked at each other and laughed.
“After the Summoning Quest, I thought there was nothing left that could surprise me....”
Haebyul mumbled while looking around.
Beautiful flowers were in bloom, and butterflies fluttered about. During the Summoning Quest, dopamine had exploded like crazy, so she had thought that no matter what scenery she saw, she wouldn’t be surprised anymore. However, the Giant Realm was a little different. It was surprising, yes, but more than that, going on this kind of adventure together felt healing.
“This is nice.”
“Feels kind of therapeutic.”
“Well, we’ve been doing nothing but fighting lately.”
As they entered the flower field, the sweet fragrance of the blossoms warmly enveloped the Heroes’ hearts.
Wasn’t this what you’d call a dopamine detox?
It had been a while since they had leisurely enjoyed the scenery while moving. The Heroes, sharing the same sentiment as Haebyul, looked out over the landscape from the ants with relaxed expressions.
“Huh?”
A Hero beside Haebyul turned the ant’s head and broke away from the formation. It was because a thick liquid had pooled on the ground. He reached out to taste the liquid and was startled.
“It’s super sweet!”
“Really? Then...!”
“Oh, is it honey?”
Before LifeHunter could stop them, several Heroes approached that area.
“This is the real healing!”
“This honey is insane!”
“The floral scent is divine!”
Other Heroes tried to follow as well, but LifeHunter raised his hand to stop them.
“Don’t move.”
As his low voice rang out, everyone froze in place. The Heroes who were tasting the honey blinked and looked toward LifeHunter. They waved their hands, beckoning them to come and try it, but the expressions on Haebyul and the other Heroes gradually stiffened.
Swoosh!
A shadow was cast over their heads. The flower buds that had been facing skyward began to move as if turning their heads, then pointed downward.
Plop!
A thick liquid dripped onto the Heroes’ shoulders. It was even stickier than the honey they had just tasted. The Heroes gulped and looked up.
The flower buds looked down at the Heroes and then suddenly bloomed wide.
Chomp!
They bit the Heroes without hesitation. The sticky liquid flowing from the flower’s stamens completely immobilized them. The stamens wriggled like tentacles, wrapping around the Heroes’ bodies.
Inside the petals, countless teeth, like something out of a blender, were exposed. The stamens pulled the Heroes' bodies into the flower.
The Heroes struggled, but they couldn’t escape. LifeHunter observed the scene with an intrigued expression.
“Judging by its movements, it’s closer to an animal than a plant.”
“I-Is that so? What’s with that squirming stuff?”
LifeHunter placed his hand on his chin and nodded.
“That’s the flower’s stamen. The stamen corresponds to the male part of the animal.”
“Male part of an animal..., then that liquid is...”
From the tip of the stamen, the thick liquid continued to ooze out. Haebyul’s face flushed.
-What the hell are you thinking?
-Ugh...
-Fuck! Tell me it’s not what I think!
Even the Heroes being devoured by the flower seemed to hear LifeHunter’s words, as they shook their heads furiously with tears in their eyes. They thrashed about as if begging for someone to say it wasn’t true.
LifeHunter was a man without prejudice.
“...It’s okay. Since we embrace everything in nature. Just think of it as having had a beautiful love.”
That’s what he said, offering comfort.
Of course, it didn’t comfort them at all.
‘Hmm....’
Jinwoo turned his gaze. It wasn’t something he had intended at all, but regardless, he felt a little off. The flower continued to devour the Heroes.
Nom nom nom!
It munched them up deliciously.
“F-For now...”
Haebyul was about to suggest they leave this place. But she couldn’t finish the sentence. A thick liquid had just dripped onto her shoulder.
Plop! Plop plop plop!
As if hail were falling, liquid splattered all around the Heroes. They gulped and slowly raised their heads. All the flower buds had turned downward, staring at the Heroes.
“Guys....”
“Yeah, this time we’re really fucked.”
UruBear finished Haebyul’s sentence.
The flower buds opened, staring at the Heroes.
“Fireball!”
A mage cast a fire spell at the flower. The spell hit, but the flower only shook its head, as if brushing it off.
This was a flower field. Countless flowers around them were now turning their heads toward the Heroes.
The Heroes panicked and began to flee. The ants carrying the Heroes ran at full speed, but there were too many flowers in the surroundings.
Swoosh! Crunch!
The man-eating flowers’ feast had begun!
One by one, the Heroes were devoured.
-You said it was healing!
-There’s no such thing. Arsilan Saga is dark fantasy.
-This is terrifying.
-Nature truly is mighty.
The number of Heroes quickly dropped, and in an instant, only four remained: Haebyul, LifeHunter, Jam-sik, and Jinwoo.
Swoosh!
Massive flowers blocked their path. When Jinwoo used Sacred Techniques to deploy a barrier, the petals bared sharp teeth and began gnawing fiercely at the shield.
Crunch!
Cracks formed in the barrier.
“I can’t hold it much longer!”
At Jinwoo’s shout, everyone prepared for a final stand, gripping their weapons. It was then.
Whoosh!
An arrow pierced one of the flowers, and blue flames erupted.
It hadn’t been fired by Haebyul.
“This way, quickly!”
An old man riding a beetle shouted toward the Heroes.
The Heroes dashed through the gap the old man had created.
As the effect of Shadow Pheromone wore off, the ants began scattering in all directions, no longer listening. LifeHunter and the Heroes jumped off the ants.
“R-Run!”
Haebyul shouted as she desperately sprinted toward the old man. LifeHunter climbed onto the beetle first and threw down a rope. Haebyul and Jam-sik barely managed to grab it, and Jinwoo grabbed Jam-sik’s leg.
“Elizabeth, fly!”
At the old man’s cry, the beetle, called Elizabeth, spread its wings and soared into the sky.
-Ooooh! It’s flying!
-Now that’s a flying mount
-Kyah!
They narrowly avoided the approaching flowers and escaped the scene.
“W-We survived!”
“Uwaaaaah!”
Haebyul and Jam-sik cheered, and LifeHunter let out a small sigh and pulled on the rope.
The beetle flew into a knothole in a large tree. Inside was a small village. As they landed in the village, the old man looked at the Heroes.
“My name is Sank. I lead the Giant Tribe.”
“The Giant Tribe?”
Sank was tall, but he didn’t exactly look like a giant.
“You’ve come from outside. What is your relationship with that Dark Priest?”
The Giants approached with weapons drawn. But when the emblem of the Arsilan Golden Alliance appeared on the Heroes’ chests, they immediately lowered their weapons.
Sank’s eyes wavered greatly.
“Y-You’ve come from Arsilan?”
“Yes! We’re... the Heroes from Arsilan.”
When Haebyul said that, Sank’s eyes welled with tears.
“Can you tell me everything in detail?”
At Sank’s request, Haebyul explained all that had happened. The Giants gathered to listen to her story. Their reactions were intense. When she spoke of the Great War, they all burst into cheers.
-This feels kind of proud
-We were the ones who protected it
-Their reaction is gold
The Heroes watching through the broadcast felt proud.
All of them held in their hearts the pride of having protected Arsilan.
Now, it was time to protect this place as well, just like they had protected Arsilan!
“We’re here to stop the Dark Priest and revive the Giant Tribe.”
At Haebyul’s words, Sank shook his head.
“The Giant Tribe is finished. Our extinction is all but certain.”
“What?”
“Follow me.”
Haebyul and the Heroes followed Sank upward. A space opened where they could look down at the outside world. The area Sank pointed to was tainted with darkness.
“We used all our power to resist the Erosion. But in the final war, the Erosion took everything from us instead.”
Sank took out an empty crystal orb.
“This is the power that forms the Giant Realm.”
The orb held no energy whatsoever.
“A Giant who has lost their power is no different from a slightly taller Arsilan native. Even staying conscious like this is reaching our limit.”
“What about this?”
Haebyul took out a lantern and shone Ella’s Light on the orb. The light briefly shimmered within the orb, but soon faded.
Sank shook his head.
“Ella-nim’s light alone is not enough. The spark to ignite the flame of the Giants can only be created by the Great Chieftain of the Giants, Hanu-nim.”
“Then, what about Great Chieftain Hanu-nim...?”
Sank shook his head with a bitter expression.
Jinwoo watched Sank’s acting from behind. His performance was so convincing that even LifeHunter, Haebyul, and all the viewers were completely drawn in.
“This Giant Realm will meet its end alongside the Dark Priest. Therefore, you must... use Ella-nim’s light to return to Arsilan.”
The moment this orb shattered, the Giant Realm would disperse into the Abyss. The Giant Realm was the final means to stop the Dark Priest. It would imprison him here forever, making sure he could never escape.
That was the only way to protect Arsilan.
Sank explained calmly.
“Please, forget about the Giant Realm. Don’t spread our story and disturb the hearts of those in Arsilan who have regained peace.”
Sank and the Giant Tribe had accepted their destruction.
Haebyul and the viewers watching the stream didn’t like that. Arsilan, too, had once faced a crisis like the Giant Realm. And in the end, because they hadn’t given up, they achieved a miracle.
So couldn’t the Giant Realm do the same?
Jinwoo broke the silence and spoke.
“We were guided here by Ella-nim. That must mean there is a way. Even if it’s impossible, that’s fine. Please tell us.”
Sank let out a long sigh and fell into contemplation.
“Hmm..., but that... mmm! It’s pointless, but...”
Sank mumbled to himself.
“If it could be realized, it would become something worthy of being recorded forever in the history of Arsilan.”
“Please, just tell us already!”
Haebyul looked at him with eyes full of anticipation.
“It’s a method so far-fetched that even fulfilling the conditions is impossible..., but it’s something mentioned in the tale Ella-nim left behind for the Giant Tribe.”
Haebyul’s eyes sparkled.
Just what was it that required this much buildup?
-What is it?
-Now I’m curious.
-This is so unpredictable ㅋㅋㅋ
-This might be the most unpredictable story yet.
The millions of viewers were dying to know what the story would be. Sank stayed silent for a moment, then opened his mouth.
“Are you ready to hear it?”
Haebyul nodded furiously.
LifeHunter and Jam-sik waited for Sank’s next words.
“The only way to recreate the Flame of the Giants is...”
What’s the method?
[Server maintenance is starting!]
[The server has been shut down.]
As server maintenance began, all the Heroes were disconnected.
What’s the method?
What is it?!
Chat exploded in Haebyul’s stream room.
Still using Soul Link, Haebyul shot up from her bed.
“Ah... this is just too much!”
The Creator God was punctual to the second.
And of all things, this server maintenance happened to fall on a Sealing Day.
Haebyul took off her Soul Link and glared at the Creator God’s altar. A small altar sat there with a photo of Jinwoo smiling kindly.
“I’m counting on you.”
The Creator God had never once let her down. Would the Giant Realm scenario be the same this time?
Please let it be insanely fun again this time!
***
During the Sealing Day, a massive number of discussions popped up on Arsilan Worlds. Heroes who specialized in analyzing and reviewing the Arsilan Saga scenario each uploaded videos sharing their thoughts.
Title: Honestly, even if the scenario sucks, it doesn’t matter.
The Giant Realm is insane content just by existing.
You could spend an entire year just mining or hunting.
After analyzing Haebyul-nim’s video, it even looks like there are ore veins?
I’m going to get that beetle flying mount first.
It looked damn cool.
Anonymous1 (JP): Since there’s been a balance patch, it should be easier to access, right?
└Anonymous2 (KR): It's humiliating, but I still want to go to the Giant Realm.
Anonymous3 (KR): Ugh, when is tomorrow going to come?
Anonymous4 (US): Just go to sleep and wake up tomorrow.
To the Heroes, the Sealing Day felt like a month. The moment the Sealing Day ended and the server reopened, the Heroes rushed like mad through the Underground Labyrinth, heading for the Giant Realm.
Haebyul turned on her stream as soon as she logged in.
As soon as LifeHunter, Jam-sik, and Jinwoo logged in, they rushed straight to Sank. Sank was watching the Giant Realm being devoured by darkness and Erosion. The Dark Priest was regaining his power there, struggling to break out of the Giant Realm.
The destruction of the Giant Realm had accelerated.
“Sank-nim! What exactly is that method?!”
At Haebyul’s question, Sank turned his head to look at her.
“Just forget it. It’s something that would require ten thousand Holy Swords. And even the only existing Holy Sword was broken during the final Great War.”
Logically speaking, it was an impossible condition.
However, Haebyul tilted her head in puzzlement.
‘Don’t we each have a Holy Sword?’
It wasn’t a physical form, but the Heroes could emit the light of the Holy Sword in certain situations. Their king was the embodiment of the Holy Sword who had granted the Heroes each their own.
Sank let out a chuckle as he recalled the conditions.
His expression showed that even he found it ridiculous.
“On top of that, the greatest being born from the Abyss, the Magic Dragon, must lend its power. Asking the Magic Dragon for help is close to impossible. It’s a being akin to a catastrophe.”
Haebyul blinked.
‘Helby-nim would probably just help if we asked.’
Helby might complain, but she never refused a Hero’s request.
“And you’ll need the Prince of Light, the wielder of the Holy Sword who once shared a friendship with Hanu-nim... The Holy Swords must be united to unleash a tremendous power. And every chieftain belonging to the Arsilan Golden Alliance must contribute their strength.”
Leon was at the royal palace, and the chieftains of each race were living happily in their respective villages.
“What do you think? Could you possibly fulfill all these conditions? It’s impossible.”
“That’s actually super easy.”
-What the hell, this is easy.
-Look how loose these conditions are.
-They sound difficult one by one, but we already fulfilled them all.
-Uh... Sank-nim... we’ve really... been through a lot.
When Haebyul replied, Sank was so shocked he nearly fell over.
This guy’s reaction is gold!
At his reaction, Haebyul and the Heroes watching via the stream burst out laughing.
“I-Is it really possible to meet all the conditions?”
“Yes.”
“Of course.”
“Absolutely.”
As Sank asked with a trembling voice, Haebyul, LifeHunter, and Jam-sik answered all at once.
Sank quickly rushed over and brought out the book Ella had left behind.
“It’s written here that if all the conditions are met, it’s possible to reverse time and create a miraculous moment!”
“Reverse time?”
“Yes! The Giant Realm exists on the boundary of Arsilan, a point where the flow of time is distorted!”
Sank, excited, showed the book to Haebyul.
“If we can reenact the great tale left behind by Ella-nim, we might be able to travel back to the time when Hanu-nim was still alive!”
Haebyul’s expression turned blank.
“So, you’re saying that means...”
-Holy shitㅋㅋㅋ
-Time travel incoming!
-Whoa, what the hell. Something huge just dropped!
-Is this a movie or what...
At the explosive reaction from the Heroes, Jinwoo stood behind them smiling as he looked at Sank.
Sank was in full method acting mode.
He looked like he had become the actual chieftain of this land, completely immersed in the role.
‘He’s never really acted like a Giant before...’
He hadn’t expected Sank to have such talent for acting.
If Hanu had seen this, she would have laughed loudly for sure.
