Chapter 19: Paired Resonance Trial, Part Nine
"Mmmmph!"
Haruka’s back hits the hallway wall as I press against her, our lips crashing together like we’re trying to devour each other. The adrenaline from our performance has both our cocks straining against our skirts, and fuck if she doesn’t taste like victory and cherry lip gloss as our tongues slide together.
"Holy shit..."
"Get it, I guess!" Some random students call out as they pass, but we keep our tongue-swapping session going because who gives a fuck about their opinion?
Eventually, I have to pull back, even though every part of me screams to keep going.
"We should probably get going, huh? Rain check?"
"Better be soon." She adjusts her skirt, trying to hide that obvious bulge that’s making me want to skip class. "That resonance got me all worked up."
"Promise!" I give her one last peck, tasting cherry one more time.
Movement catches my eye. Reina is heading toward the exit, those authentic Demonias announcing her departure with every step.
[Oh wait, wait, wait!]
"Hold that thought." I plant one more greedy, quick kiss on Haruka’s perfect lips before jogging after our hot goth savior. "Yo, dark princess! Wait up!"
She turns, raising one perfect brow.
"What?"
"Just wanted to say thanks, again." I fall into step beside her, our heels creating this chaotic duet against marble. "Really, that was pretty badass back there."
She rolls those ice-blue eyes.
"Whatever." But those cute ears twitch, giving her away. "My dad’s gonna be pissed when he finds out."
"Fuck him then-" I start, but her laugh cuts me off like a blade.
"Easy for you to say. Your dad isn’t CEO of CrysTech."
"..."
I freeze mid-step, blinking like she just told me she’s actually my mother while I’m hanging over an abyss on a ship in space.
[Oh. Oh SHIT.]
"Wait, your dad is-"
"Kai Miyamoto? Yeah." She adjusts that choker - the one she used to save my ass - like it’s nothing. "Why’d you think I could afford real Demonias? I don’t have a job or anything."
"Oh..." My brain short-circuits. "I... You..."
"Anyway, it’s been cool, but, yeah. Gotta go," she turns away, that tail moving side to side like it’s waving for her. "Have fun... sucking tongue or whatever."
Before I can process that absolute bomb drop, I spot them.
Miyuki, Professor Sato, and that brown-haired saboteur huddled by the practice room door like they’re plotting their next failed takedown. Their voices are low, but I catch the name "Lily" floating between them.
[So that’s who you are, you basic bitch.]
"How in the world did that feynal figure us out?"
"I-I dunno, I put up the Silence spell perfectly!"
"You fools! Because of that little stunt, half the students in the university are probably on her side now!"
"Hey," I call out as I strut past, making sure my platforms announce my presence. "Sucks to suck, huh?"
Lily - if that’s really her name - has the audacity to play innocent.
"I don’t know what you mean."
"Course you don’t, babe." My smile could cut a building in half right now. "Nice Silence spell though. Shame it didn’t stick."
"M-Miss Nakamura." Professor Sato’s voice could freeze hell itself. "I suggest you remember your position."
"Oh, I remember." I flip my perfectly styled waves like I’m in a shampoo commercial. "I’m the bad bitch who just proved you all wrong. And I’m just getting started."
Miyuki glares daggers at me.
"We’ll see about that."
"Guess we will." I turn on my heel, making sure my skirt flares just enough to show off these Diamond Legs stockings that cost more than their dignity. "Later, basics!"
Their glares burn into my back as I sashay away, but honestly? It just adds fuel to my victory strut.
Haruka’s waiting by our lockers, already spreading the good news probably. Her ponytail bounces as she looks up, and fuck if that doesn’t make my dick twitch.
"Everything good?"
"Better than good." I press her against the lockers, grinding our hips together because I literally can’t help myself. "Now, about that rain check..."
---
{Reina}
My Demonias barely hit the quad’s marble before my phone starts its predictable buzzfest.
The silver chains announce each step like tiny rebellion bells as I freeze, staring at that caller ID like it might bite.
[Of fucking course. Because this day wasn’t complicated enough.]
For a moment, I consider letting it ring into oblivion, but... yeah, that would just add fuel to this dumpster fire. With a sigh, I answer.
"Hey, Dad-"
"What were you thinking!?"
[Here we fucking go. Time for the ’disappointment’ speech.]
My claws click like a war drum against my phone case.
"Do you have ANY idea what you’ve done? There’s already a viral clip of you on ManaGram! My daughter, publicly defying school administration to help that... that..."
"That what?" My voice could cut diamonds right now. Another notification pops up - another thousand views of me choosing chaos. "That gyaru? Is that what you’re choking on?"
"Don’t take that tone with me, young lady. This isn’t about her... fashion choices." The way he spits those words makes my tail lash like a whip. "This is about you undermining the entire disciplinary system!"
"Oh, you mean the system that was letting them cheat?" I examine my black matte nails. Dad knows me so well, that he can probably tell I’m doing it. "The one that was totally cool with someone casting Silence during a demonstration?"
"That’s not the point-"
"Then what IS the point?" My raised voice bounces off columns, sending some passing students scrambling. "That I embarrassed you? That people might think the great Kai Miyamoto’s daughter actually gives a damn about fairness?"
"Language!"
"I’m hanging up now."
"Reina, don’t you dare-"
Click.
[Fuck. This.]
My hands shake as I pull up Jun’s contact. Maybe my perfect boyfriend can help me forget this shitstorm. Not like he bothered showing up to the demonstration anyway - something about "extra credit work" that probably involves kissing more professor ass.
Three rings before he graces me with his voice.
"Hey babe, you free? I was thinking we could-"
"Not a good time." His voice is like a bucket of cold water being dropped on me. Papers shuffle in the background. "Got this huge project due tomorrow."
[Of course you do. Heaven forbid you actually be there when I need you.]
"Right. Well, good luck with that."
I hang up before he can feed me more excuses. Fine. If everyone wants to play it like that, I’ll just...
Akari’s wink flashes through my mind like neon. The way those perfectly lined eyes sparked when I broke that Silence. How her highlighter literally glowed when her magic rushed back, like she was made of pure light.
[Stop it. Stop thinking about her like that.]
My phone buzzes again. Another ManaGram notification, probably.
[Whatever. Let them talk.]
I adjust my choker. You know? It’s almost like my leash has just been loosened, just a little.
At least I did something real today, even if it meant helping that annoying gyaru.
My Demonias strike a victory march against the pavement as I head for the exit, and I can’t help the smile creeping across my black-painted lips.
Maybe choosing chaos isn’t such a bad thing after all.
Yeah, right. Not like I’ll have a ton of chances to do that, or anything.
