The Slime Doesn't Die from Mana Transfer-Chapter 33 : Demon-Bound

Chapter 33

Scorching magic power was violently forced into Anna’s body.
A pain she had never known before engulfed her completely, so intense she couldn’t even scream. Her lower abdomen felt like it was set ablaze, a torment beyond words.
All she could do was clutch her stomach, collapsing onto the ground, drenched in cold sweat.
Meanwhile, Russell paid her suffering no mind.
【Demon Seed lv8】
He now vaguely understood how this skill worked.
Despite its mystical-sounding name, it was essentially a process of forcefully injecting his own magic into a target, remaking them in his own image. Once complete, all of the target’s magic power would fall under his control. He couldn’t outright command their actions, but he could render them utterly powerless with ease.
Of course, as the saying goes: Powerful cards always come with a cost.
This skill had a price.
The cost: a permanent reduction to his maximum MP.
Russell glanced at his status panel.
【MP: 973,990 → 971,990 ↓】
He had lost 2,000 MP.
Not current MP—his max MP.
In other words, he had permanently sacrificed 2,000 points.
And the result manifested entirely in Anna.
Russell cast his gaze upon her, now lying motionless like a dead dog.
【Name: Anna Volantia】
【Race: Human】
【Level: 42】
【HP: 65/1300】
【MP: 2000/2000】
【Status: Lightly Injured, Poisoned, Weakened, Fully Demon-Bound】
【Skills: Flight lv9, Wind Magic lv6, Eagle Eye lv6, Short Sword Mastery lv5, Stealth lv5, Light Magic lv5, Mana Reinforcement lv5】
Her 65 HP flickered like a candle in the wind.
That didn’t matter.
What mattered was the new entry in her Status column: 【Demon-Bound】.
As the name implied, she had been filled with Russell’s magic.
No—more than “accepting” it, she had been force-fed until she was overflowing with his power.
Russell’s eyes narrowed as he approached her.
He gave her backside a sharp kick.
“Get up. Stop playing dead.”
“…”
Anna bit her lip hard.
Her heart screamed to resist, but the memory of that suffocating brush with death forced her to obey. She staggered to her feet, trembling. She knew her life now dangled by a single thread—Russell’s whim.
Seeing her comply, Russell nodded approvingly.
“Kneel.”
“Wh—”
“I said kneel!”
“…!”
Grinding her teeth, Anna dropped to her knees.
“Good. At least you know when to bend.”
Russell chuckled. A tentacle emerged, ruffling her silvery hair into a tangled mess.
“Since you’re being so obedient, I’ll give you a chance.”
Anna’s expression stiffened, her face pale, terrified that he might snap her neck with the slightest motion.
Russell looked at her with amusement.
“Ten seconds. I’ll give you ten seconds to run.”
“What?”
Anna froze.
“For ten seconds, I won’t lift a finger. You could flee to the ends of the earth, and I still won’t chase you. If, after ten seconds, you’ve reached somewhere I can’t catch you—then we’re square.”
“…Really?”
Her breathing quickened.
“Time starts now.”
Russell began the countdown.
“Ten, nine, eight, seven…”
Anna didn’t hesitate. Her wings flared open, and she shot upward to escape.
But just as she was about to take off—
Her wings faltered. The air currents vanished. Mid-flight, she faltered, then crashed back down.
Thud!
Her head smacked the ground. Her eyes rolled back.
She passed out cold.
Russell discovered something very interesting.
Magic power wasn’t just fuel for skills. It had a deeper meaning.
Through 【Demon Seed】, he could force his magic into others. It wasn’t “replenishing” them—it was invasive, domineering, forcing his will upon them.
Every person had a maximum capacity for magic power. He thought of it like a bottle.
His own max MP: 971,990.
Anna’s: 2,000.
Rozelite’s: …none at all.
Why Rozelite had no “bottle” was another matter entirely.
Normally, as people leveled up, their bottle grew bigger—1 drop of water at level 1, 20 drops at level 20, and so on.
But 【Demon Seed】 worked differently. It tore a piece of his bottle and grafted it onto Anna. The bottle still belonged to him, and its contents were his to control. If Anna wanted to use that “water,” she needed his permission.
In short—it was a form of erosion.
To put it simply: Anna no longer had her own magic.
The magic she used was Russell’s. And if he didn’t allow it, she couldn’t use a single drop.
“…Huh?”
Russell suddenly froze.
A thought struck him—Rozelite.
She had no magic.
Anna’s magic had been erased because of his 【Demon Seed】.
Could Rozelite’s lack of magic also be the result of someone else seeding her?
But if that were the case, why didn’t her status panel show it? And even if seeded, the host still had magic—it just wasn’t theirs to control. Rozelite had “none at all.”
And then there was her abnormal HP value—so bizarre, so wrong.
Russell’s instincts whispered to him: Rozelite’s condition was no mere accident. It tied into secrets deeper than he imagined.
He called out in his mind.
“Rozelite, are you okay?”
“…”
“Rozelite?”
“…I’m fine, Mister Slime.”
Her voice sounded in his heart—fragile, weary.
“I just… want to be quiet for a while. Please, leave me be.”
“…Alright.”
Russell sighed softly.
She hadn’t taken control of her body since earlier, leaving everything to him. Stepping back for a breather wasn’t bad, but he couldn’t help worrying.
Worrying she’d overthink, spiral, and break under this.
“…Hey, Mister Slime.”
Rozelite’s voice was faint, fragile.
“Do you think… I really am useless…?”
