Chapter 519

Chapter 519: Chapter 519: The man has an almost mocking feeling about the experiences of these past years.
Inside Emerald Hill Villas, Maximilian saw Ji An come out and hurriedly grabbed him, asking, "Does that bearded man’s hypnosis have side effects?"
Ji An pulled his hand away and, somewhat stammering, said, "Don’t, don’t tug and pull like that—it’s indecent. The bearded man hypnotized Mr. Leclair before, nothing, nothing will go wrong."
Maximilian still felt uneasy. Everything that had happened over the past half month was too unusual. The day Miss Delphine gave birth, Mr. Leclair heard the sound of the baby’s crying. The man, originally pale as death, showed a hint of joy but suddenly fainted. Although he woke up quickly, when his eyes reopened, he was a completely different person. He took only one glance at the two children and didn’t say a single word about Miss Delphine.
Although Mr. Leclair had always been stoic and withdrawn, his current demeanor exuded a chilling indifference—not just to strangers, but even Maximilian felt like he was at risk of frostbite.
And most notably, the second brother had been called back.
Maximilian found all this eerie to the extreme.
Inside the room, Ignatius Leclair opened his eyes and stared at the bearded Finnish psychologist in front of him. A faint, cold gleam flickered in his phoenix-like eyes.
After a hypnotic session lasting two hours, he remembered everything—every cause and effect. Reflecting on the events of the past few years, a near-mocking sense of amusement emerged within him.
It was truly unexpected. He now had children—two, no less. As for that woman, his impression of her had always been that of a pale, tender figure, far removed from his own standards for a partner.
Ignatius left the room and saw Maximilian and Ji An nervously waiting nearby. He said indifferently, "Where is that woman?"
Maximilian’s eyes widened suddenly, unable to utter a single word. Witnessing Mr. Leclair’s attitude toward Miss Delphine over the past year, and comparing it with his current attitude, Maximilian felt as though he were looking at two different people.
"Second Brother went to pick Delphine up," Ji An said. Then he excitedly waved at the bearded man, the two research fanatics eagerly huddling together.
Inside the Bentley, Delphine sat in the front passenger seat, her complexion white as snow. She stared straight ahead, avoiding looking at Arthur White.
"Before heading to Emerald Hill Villas, there’s something I think Miss Delphine should know, so you can be mentally prepared," Arthur White said coldly and politely, his gaze sharper than before despite six years spent exiled in the United Kingdom’s farmland. "I assume Miss Delphine has already noticed."
Delphine remained silent, her fingers tightly clenched, and asked in a low voice, "Can I take one of the children with me?"
"The children have already been sent to Emerald Hill Villas. As for their future, that decision rests with Mr. Leclair." Arthur’s eyes flashed with a trace of admiration. Although he had never liked this woman over the years, Delphine Carter was at least adept at recognizing the situation. What he was about to say would be cruel, but it had to be said. Otherwise, hearing it directly from Mr. Leclair would hurt her even more.
"Miss Delphine, have you never wondered why, after just three months of passionate love, Mr. Leclair suddenly seemed like a completely different person and promptly banished you from the Southern Seas, ignoring you for five years?"
Delphine’s body trembled slightly. She said nothing.
"I am an orphan, raised almost entirely by the late Mrs. Leclair. For the most part, I have been Mr. Leclair’s shadow," Arthur said coolly. "Mr. Leclair has been a genius since childhood. When he was fifteen, signs of schizophrenia were detected. By eighteen, a second personality began to emerge—its appearances varying in duration each year, sometimes lasting a few days, sometimes three months at the longest, but without exception."
