the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart-Chapter 602

Chapter 602

Chapter 602: Chapter 602
"Mr. Stewart has come to pick up his little wife?" Ignatius Leclair glanced at Constantine Stewart, who seldom made public appearances, and a flicker of dark amusement crossed his phoenix-shaped eyes.
Ignatius was one of the few who knew the background of this Mr. Stewart. He hadn’t expected the mature and rational Constantine to adopt a young girl, develop her under his care, and then marry her. The taste was somewhat unconventional.
Ignatius pondered: When Chloe Winston attended her parent-teacher meetings, did she call him her guardian or her husband?
Constantine lowered his car window and cast a brief glance at Ignatius. The man’s refined face, handsome as jade, bore a faint smile as he spoke lightly, "If not for your ex-wife’s call to the Shaw Family, leveraging her authority to pressure them, my little wife would still be in my bed instead of forcing me to come all this way to retrieve her."
His tone carried much displeasure and a hint of malice. Delphine Carter had cast his little wife as the lead actress, and in these past days, she had practically been walking on air, boldly ignoring him altogether. Coupled with his sleepless nights lately, the debt naturally fell on Ignatius’ shoulders.
Ignatius narrowed his eyes slightly. A call to the Shaw Family? Delphine Carter went to Old Shaw instead of him? He let out a cold snort—clearly, Old Shaw had too much time on his hands.
Ignatius observed the well-preserved, refined appearance of this man in his thirties—far from bashful about his "appetite for tender grass." He narrowed his eyes, lightly sneering, "So, is this frustration from unmet... desires?"
"Not as enviable as yourself, celibate for years," Constantine replied with a smirk. He was exceptionally good-looking, his face smooth and majestic, though the faint wrinkles at the corners of his eyes while smiling betrayed his age. Despite his understated demeanor, Mr. Stewart spared no mercy in his mockery.
Ignatius’ severe obsession with cleanliness was deeply entrenched—terminal even. The rare woman who didn’t repel him had ended up divorced. Three years of abstinence? Intriguing, indeed.
Thus, the two distinguished older men turned their verbal sparring over unfulfilled desires into a full-blown smoke-filled conflict outside the film set.
Inside the set, Chloe Winston cradled Nicholas Carter and gazed at Delphine with doe-like, vulnerable eyes, timidly asking, "Director Carter, can we keep filming? I don’t want to see Constantine Stewart."
The supposedly refined and handsome gentleman was as depraved as they came behind closed doors. Chloe had endured two days without leaving the bed just to secure her passport and legal documents. The thought alone made her legs weak.
Delphine, noticing her repulsion toward Mr. Stewart, lowered her voice and asked, "Isn’t he your husband?"
"We’ll divorce sooner or later," the young girl muttered fiercely through gritted teeth.
Delphine couldn’t help but laugh. Seeing Chloe’s resolute refusal to face him, she winked at her and said, "Then I’ll treat you to a meal. How about we take Benjamin and Nicholas along?"
"Director Carter, you’re like family to me!" Chloe exclaimed with unrestrained joy, nearly ready to leap up. And with plans to bring the two adorable kids along for dinner—oh, heaven’s sake, what bliss!
"Mommy, Benjamin wants candy," Benjamin Leclair’s sweet voice chimed in.
Delphine looked at the girl’s teeth, not yet fully grown, pinched her pretty little face, and said with a smile, "Pick something else."
"Then Benjamin wants ice cream," the little one quickly switched to another dessert choice.
"Nicholas, what about you?" Chloe asked the little boy in her arms, smiling brightly.
"Whatever Benjamin eats, I’ll eat," Nicholas thought for a moment. Benjamin was an absolute foodie—following her lead was a surefire win.
"How about a French restaurant?" Delphine suggested with a smile.
"Oh, yeah! Director Carter, I love you!" Chloe’s eyes sparkled as she cheered. She was so broke she practically jingled—and the insane Constantine Stewart not only restricted her from having pocket money but also forbade her from working to earn her own. Chloe hadn’t smelled a gourmet meal in ages.
And so, while the two older men continued their clash outside, Delphine, Chloe, and the two little darlings slipped out through the set’s rear exit for a delightful dinner.
