Chapter 104: A Day by the Sea
Ding Yixin held a small camera and recorded this magical scene.
They also picked shells together and dug for crabs.
And today, they went out to sea to fish.
"Yuyu, relax a little."
"C-can I start now?"
"Yes, that’s it. Focus your attention."
Rong Xingyu took a deep breath.
His grip on the fishing rod loosened a bit and he stared fully at the calm surface of the sea.
From behind, it looked like Ding Yixin was hugging Rong Xingyu.
But in reality, he was correcting Rong Xingyu’s fishing posture.
Ding Yixin’s hand wrapped around Rong Xingyu’s from behind and without Rong Xingyu noticing, his back pressed lightly against Ding Yixin’s chest.
But Rong Xingyu was so focused on the surface of the sea that he didn’t notice how overly intimate the pose looked.
He didn’t have to wait long.
Suddenly, the float in the water bobbed up and down a few times.
When he felt a faint pull through the fishing rod, Rong Xingyu’s eyes widened with excitement.
"It moved! Is there a fish on the hook?"
Rong Xingyu instinctively turned his head a little to look into Ding Yixin’s eyes.
But he didn’t expect that because he turned too quickly, his lips brushed fast across Ding Yixin’s cheek.
Rong Xingyu: !!!
His whole body froze and his eyes grew even wider.
For some reason, even though the touch was extremely light and extremely quick, a tingling feeling spread across his lips right away.
He even had an urge to lift his hand and touch his mouth.
Why was Dr. Ding’s face so close to his?
Rong Xingyu’s face immediately turned red.
Ding Yixin saw Rong Xingyu stunned in his arms with that cute blank look.
He cleared his throat and reminded him, "Yuyu, reel it in quick, or the fish will run away."
Then Ding Yixin tightened his hand slightly and guided Rong Xingyu to reel in the rod together.
Rong Xingyu finally came back to his senses. Right—right! The fish!
He swung upward and a gray-black fish flew out of the sea.
The fish wasn’t very big, but it was strong.
It bit onto the hook and slapped its tail against the air, trying hard to break free.
Rong Xingyu quickly reeled the fish in under Ding Yixin’s guidance.
He saw the fish clearly, it had a long fin on its back and its gray-black body shone with a silver light under the sun.
This was the first fish he had ever caught!
Rong Xingyu lifted his head excitedly, his eyes bright as he looked at Ding Yixin.
"I did it!"
Ding Yixin saw how proud he looked, as if the words "please praise me" were written all over his face.
He raised his hand and touched Rong Xingyu’s head. "It’s a black bream. Yuyu is amazing."
Rong Xingyu’s face turned a little red at the tone of his voice, but in the end he still couldn’t stop himself from smiling.
His good luck continued just as always, even when it came to sea fishing.
Even though this was his first time holding a fishing rod, once he understood the basics, he never missed a single cast.
The fish he pulled up were even bigger each time.
Even Ding Yixin had never seen someone as lucky as Rong Xingyu.
Time flew by.
In just one afternoon, the two of them filled their buckets in this part of the sea.
On the way back, Rong Xingyu looked at the bucket full of all kinds of seafood.
His sun-reddened face was full of happy smiles.
It was like all the fish had discussed it beforehand and took turns biting his hook.
They couldn’t really be lining up under the sea, one after another, waiting for their turn, right?
Thinking of that scene, Rong Xingyu couldn’t stop himself from laughing out loud.
Ding Yixin saw Rong Xingyu laughing quietly and shook his head with a smile. He asked, "Was sea fishing fun?"
Rong Xingyu nodded several times in a row.
"It’s fun! I didn’t know fishing was this easy!"
"Hm. For Yuyu, fishing must be easy. Don’t forget you have a hidden identity."
Ding Yixin touched his chin and spoke like he was deep in thought.
"Huh?" Rong Xingyu blinked his eyes in confusion.
What hidden identity did he have?
"Yuyu is still a little mermaid. Of course the fish will listen to you and jump onto your hook."
Rong Xingyu: ...
So the theater play matter really wasn’t going to be forgotten!
Even though the yacht had a fully equipped kitchen, in the end Rong Xingyu and Ding Yixin still returned to shore.
The sun had completely sunk below the horizon, but the sky was still dyed orange-red.
The last light of the sunset fell on the sea like scattered gold.
Ding Yixin and Rong Xingyu set up a grill on the beach.
Most of tonight’s food was the seafood they had caught earlier in the afternoon.
After simple cleaning and preparing, they placed everything on the grill.
Before long, a strong delicious smell filled the air.
The sky grew darker and not far away, Ding Yixin lit a bonfire.
The sea breeze was salty as it blew from the calm water.
Rong Xingyu took a bite of the grilled fish, it was so good!
He almost felt like his tongue was going to melt from the flavor!
The seafood that was freshly taken from the ocean really was the best.
Before today, Rong Xingyu who didn’t live near the coast had never experienced catching the fish and eat it immediately.
After enjoying that fresh seafood barbecue feast, Rong Xingyu and Ding Yixin walked side by side on the beach at a slow, relaxed pace.
The fine soft sand felt like a gentle massage under their feet.
From time to time, the rising seawater covered Rong Xingyu’s feet, and then, as if shy, quickly retreated, taking away the footprints the two of them left behind on the beach.
They didn’t speak.
They just walked slowly like that.
