Trapped in Paradise (In a Hentai World, as a Trap)-Chapter 363

It had been a long time since the house was this lively.
Ning Chu's Grandma was chatting away with her daughter about daily life and her boyfriend, while Ning Chu's Grandpa held Black Bean in his lap, the two of them watching cartoons together. Ning Chu and Wen Yang sat on the sofa, whispering to each other.
The only one missing was Ning Yuan, the shut-in. Normally, he nagged at Ning Chu with the authority of an older brother, but now he had hidden away in his room—either glued to his phone or playing games.
Who knew when that guy would finally bring home a sister-in-law? Ning Chu didn’t even care if it was Lily or one of her other girlfriends—just someone.
A trap is fine too…
Since becoming a girl, she had become a lot more open-minded about that sort of thing.
“Your grandpa seems pretty easy to get along with,” Wen Yang leaned closer, whispering near her ear.
Her soft ears flushed red almost instantly. Ever since becoming a succubus, her whole body had become sensitive, but her ears were especially so.
Afraid of embarrassing herself in front of the elders, Ning Chu quickly pulled back to put some distance between them before answering, “Yeah, he’s nice. Grandpa’s actually pretty trendy—he even watches videos on A-site.”
“Your grandma’s fine too, aside from always wanting to pinch people’s cheeks. I’ve seen photos of her when she was younger—she was gorgeous.”
In this parallel world, Ning Chu wasn’t sure if her Grandma had been just as beautiful. But with a succubus’ natural charm, she probably would’ve been breathtaking.
Leaning against the sofa’s armrest, Ning Chu gazed at Black Bean curled up in their Grandpa’s arms. She added uncertainly, “Mm… probably?”
“Then why don’t you like visiting them?” Wen Yang asked.
“I
do
visit them… I just don’t want to see the other relatives.” She frowned, the thought alone making her feel queasy.
Maybe it was because Grandpa’s side of the family was well-off, but her relatives had no warmth in them—only interest and profit in their eyes.
When her mom died in the past, if it hadn’t been for Grandpa and Grandma protecting them, she and her brother might not even have had a roof over their heads.
Here, though, Ning Juan was still alive. The relatives at least pretended to be kind on the surface. Even so, Ning Chu couldn’t stand the thought of putting on a polite smile for that bunch.
Seeing her look disgusted, Wen Yang wisely dropped the subject.
“Ning Chu, let’s go out for dinner tonight?” Her Grandpa suddenly asked.
“Yes!” Black Bean shot her hand up before anyone else could answer.
Ning Chu's Grandpa chuckled, gently pinching the little girl’s chubby cheek. “Always hungry, aren’t you? All you think about is food.”
Though there was no blood relation, Black Bean’s cuteness had already captured the old man’s heart.
“When does school start again?”
“The sixteenth of the first lunar month. Half a month left.”
Ning Chu's Grandpa nodded, then lowered his head and fished a crisp hundred-yuan bill out of his oversized coat pocket.
“Here, New Year’s money.”
Ning Chu blinked, instinctively reaching out to take it, but hesitated. “I’m already eighteen, and you’re still giving me New Year’s money?”
“It’s from both me and your grandma, fifty each. But once you’re married, that’s it.” He grinned. “What, not enough?”
“No, that’s fine.”
It had always been the same amount growing up. This year, she’d also received red envelopes from Mom and Uncle, making it two hundred in total.
Black Bean didn’t quite understand what New Year’s money was, but her cat ears perked up all the same. “What about mine?”
“You’ll get yours too.”
Clutching the money, Black Bean shot up to her feet, waving the cash excitedly as she bolted off to show it to their mom. “Mom! Grandpa gave me money! A whole hundred!”
“Come here, I’ll keep it safe for you. When you’re grown up, I’ll give it back.”
“Okay!”
Wen Yang also received a red envelope from Ning Chu's Grandpa. Technically it was both New Year’s money and a first-meeting gift, even though it was their first time meeting.
“Treat Ning Chu well. Don’t turn out like her father.”
Wen Yang bobbed his head quickly. “I won’t.”
Ning Chu's Grandpa gave him a doubtful look but didn’t press further. Instead, he rose and headed out into the stairwell to smoke.
“Because of my mom, they’re all a little PTSD about this stuff,” Ning Chu murmured, watching him leave.
“Understandable…” Wen Yang said softly.
Things seemed to be going smoothly on Uncle’s side too. Ning Chu's Grandpa and Grandma both knew their daughter’s temper—whether or not they liked her boyfriend, they couldn’t stop her from doing what she wanted. Just like back then.
Unlike Ning Chu's Grandpa, who just slacked off and didn’t care, Ning Chu's Grandma had already carefully checked into their daughter boyfriend background, and from her expression, she seemed quite satisfied.
“When are you two getting married?”
Ning Chu eagerly scooted closer to watch the fun. Seeing her Grandma ask that question, she immediately turned her head toward her mother.
“It’s been six or seven years already, hasn’t it? Time to get married.”
Her mother's boyfriend also turned hopeful eyes toward her mother.
But Ning Juan frowned a little, clearly resistant, and turned her head away.
“I haven’t even divorced yet. What’s there to marry for?”
“Don’t let it be that by the time Ning Chu gets married, you and he still haven’t settled your business.”
Ning Chu nodded her little head: “Exactly, exactly.”
Ning Juan glared at her daughter in embarrassment, then straightened her face into an indifferent look.
“It’s too much trouble. Filing a suit takes half a year...”
“How can you call something like this ‘trouble’?”
“Being together is enough. Marriage is just a piece of paper. It’s the same either way.”
“You silly girl!”
Ning Chu's Grandma immediately got anxious, lowered her voice, and bent down to whisper persuasion in her ear. But Ning Juan remained unmoved, stubbornly clinging to her own view.
“There’s no need. Too much hassle.”
Ning Chu propped her chin on her hands at the side, sneaking glances at her mom boyfriend now and then.
She couldn’t really understand her mother’s reasoning. Getting married, at least legally, meant that even if she got kicked aside later, she could still get half the marital assets. That way she wouldn’t end up as nothing more than an unpaid housemaid.
But honestly, if someone had no shame, whether they married or not didn’t make that much difference.
Like that scumbag who ran off and disappeared without a trace...
Ning Juan grew a bit irritated by her mom nagging and turned toward Black Bean.
“Ning Xin, want to go shopping?”
“Right now? Let’s go!”
“Mm, I remember there’s that new outfit. It’s the first day of the new year—it’s time to wear it.”
Ning Juan stood up, pulling Black Bean toward the bedroom.
“And don’t burn another hole with fireworks, or you won’t get any meat to eat.”
“I was just curious...”
“If you’re curious, then ask! What do you think that mouth of yours is for?”
“For eating!”
Seeing her attitude, Ning Chu's Grandma didn’t even bother anymore. She just let out a faint sigh, then turned to Ning Chu.
“Talk to her when you can.”
“Mm-hmm.”
“Xiao Juan’s been like this ever since she was a child...” Her Grandma muttered in complaint, then turned her head toward her daughter's boyfriend who was sitting quietly to the side.
“You’ve known her six or seven years now—you probably know her temper well. Just be patient with her.”
“I’ve long gotten used to it.”
Ning Chu's Grandma nodded. Unlike the last one, the man her daughter had picked this time seemed decent.
He wasn’t too handsome, listened obediently to her daughter, looked honest enough, had a little business of his own, and even in middle age still had a broad back and strong waist with clearly defined muscles.
They had been dating for six or seven years, and he still hadn’t been drained dry...
And her daughter was in her forties now, a succubus in full bloom, lustful as a wolf or tiger.
Ning Chu's Grandma’s eyes shifted again toward Wen Yang, taking in his height close to 1.9 meters, lean but solid frame, and vigorous age. Then she looked at Ning Chu’s tiny figure—barely 1.6 meters, with a slender waist that could be grasped in one hand, frail and delicate.
When she’s standing next to him, she barely came up to his shoulder.
That actually made Ning Chu's Grandma start worrying about her granddaughter instead...
