Chapter 20: And you sold me?
Aries could be seen inside his room, seated on the bed. He had just finished bathing for the night and was about to have a night’s rest after all the ups and downs of the day.
It’s been about two weeks since he got to the world—one day in the palace and thirteen days at the pleasure house. A sigh left his lips as he recalled his earlier discussion with Barris.
"We’ve been summoned to the palace."
Her words had dropped like a bomb in Aries’ heart as panic struck him straight away. The Tiger King wishes to see him, and for what reasons? To kill him perhaps. How did he know he was there?
All these thoughts raked Aries’ mind as he brooded hard, beads of sweat forming on his forehead.
But then, Barris spoke, "But the King isn’t around, and I know you’re busy with work here, so I’ll go in your stead and bring feedback."
And instantly, Aries was relieved of the worry that clutched at his heart, and he managed to breathe well again.
But then, the worry had already set in. It might not happen then, but it might be the next day or the next two days, so something needed to be done.
"System, I’m afraid I can’t stay in the Tiger Kingdom for long again. The King will summon me sooner or later. Even if he doesn’t know yet and was just trying to summon a cook, when I show, he’ll see that it’s me."

"These are ridiculous," Aries muttered as he scanned the routes given to him.
"One talks about an unknown wolf who probably will want to breed me after assisting me, another says I submit to the king, really? And the third, I throw myself into an unknown teleportation portal and yet it still costs 50 CE!"
"System, are you sure you aren’t sent to aid my destruction?" Aries sighed as he said out loud.

And with that, Aries closed the system and went straight to bed. Soon, knocks could be heard on the door just as soon as he dropped his head on the bed.
Reluctantly, Aries rose from the bed and went to the door. He had expected to meet his roomie, but it was rather Madam Barris.
"Are you just coming back from the palace?" he asked.
"Yes," she said, and stepped inside the room. She dropped her bum on the second bed and had her eyes on Aries.
His heart thumped hard as he also took a seat, swallowing hard.
"So?" he started.
"I was late because when I got to the palace, the King had just gotten back and I had to wait for him to settle."
Yes, she truly did say the King wasn’t around, and Aries never had the chance to ask why, so he did. "Where did the King go before?"
"To war," Barris responded, and Aries’ brain spiked.
"Rumors have it that the Wolf King took the treasure of our King, so he went to war with them and is just back. And now, he wishes to see the one he wishes to see after seeing me. He was even very angered, and it was through begging that he freed me."
"So, Aries, prepare. You are entering the palace tomorrow."
’No, I’m not,’ Aries said in his mind.
The Madam didn’t wait any longer after dropping the heart-shaking bomb she dropped for Aries as she left soon after, and Aries was left with his heart thumping as hard as it could. He spent a few minutes making it go down as he thought about his impending doom.
’Look, I pick the first route.’ he said.

’I guess this is good,’ he thought with a sigh as he laid down on the bed, his face to the ceiling.
It took a while for him to calm down, and that was in sleep. The night went on and Aries’ beast spell went off when it was to, and he just continued sleeping comfortably until the door was knocked again.
Aries woke up and looked to the other side and his roomie wasn’t back. It was mostly what happened every day as his roomie was one who was cherished and also asked for in the pleasure hall, so his hands were always filled.
He scratched his head and his ears were nowhere to be found, and Aries activated his beast veil, which was said to be fragile but at this point, he didn’t care. His sleep had been split, and he wasn’t ready for anyone finding out his secrets if he didn’t use it straight away.
’Now, who is at the damn door?’
Aries opened the door to reveal his boss, one he wasn’t expecting to see, and he just dreaded what was going to come out of her mouth.
"I had promised myself that I wasn’t going to do this, but it can’t be escaped," she said, her face almost begging him, and Aries knew that it wasn’t going to be any good.
"What is it?" he asked.
"A client paid a huge amount of money to have you for the night. Please, you need to go and I believe he won’t do much. He claims to want to see you and paid me a huge sum, more like he’s buying you."
"And you sold me?" Aries said.
"Yes..."
