Chapter 501: Chapter 250 Pirate Chase_2
So they have to use their brains to snatch it.
Anyone who can navigate these waters is no soft touch.
In the shadows among the grass and trees nearby, something seemed to flicker for a moment.
But nobody noticed.
No one would bother to notice, either.
...
At this moment, Alka and the others, who had already reached their destination, were clearing away the snow on the ground.
The snow that piled up last night was simply too thick.
As the snow was shoveled away, it revealed a deep pit that had already been dug, but some parts of the pit were filled with icy water.
Pororo had no choice but to grab a shovel and an ice pick to start clearing out the ice blocks.
"Every time we do this, it’s just infuriating," Juanlu grumbled as he knocked at the ice with his pick.
Digging in frozen earth in winter is already a hassle—the pit you dug yesterday will get filled up again if it snows at night, not to mention a fresh sheet of ice will form over it.
It just randomly increases the workload for no reason.
Fortunately, they’d dug the pit deep enough yesterday to largely expose the rough shape of the ruins.
Once the ice and snow was cleared, it would be much easier to work.
Some spider-like constructs with four legs had already started working with their own digging tools.
Above, a few Mirrors floated, gathering sunlight and reflecting it down around the ruins.
It raised the surrounding temperature, making it much easier for them to work here.
San, sitting on Julia’s shoulder, flicked its fish tail and suddenly sensed something, freezing for a second.
Then San said, "That pirate group is coming, after all."
At those words, everyone who’d been busy working paused and looked up at each other.
"Some people just can’t take a hint," Juanlu muttered, scratching his hair helplessly.
They’d already known a pirate gang had landed on the island recently, and ever since then, the pirates had been poking around for information about them whenever they could.
They’d been asking the islanders.
For Jason, who’d spent this much time blending in with the town, any news they tried to dig up got to him almost instantly.
Alka and the rest had also confirmed, through their own actions, that this pirate crew had most likely come for them.
Their intentions weren’t good.
Especially once the pirates heard about Alka’s past exploits—they seemed to get cockier, acting more and more aggressive.
Compared to typical pirates, they’re definitely more clever.
Probably because of how brutal the professional ecosystem of the Endless Sea is.
Still, clever or not, it’s not saying much.
These pirates probably still have no clue that every single thing they say and do has been totally seen through by Alka and the others.
In fact, even the information they dug up about Alka was what the townsfolk told them on purpose.
After all, they’re just pirates.
Alka’s team is the one who’s genuinely helped the whole town—real contributors with the locals’ gratitude.
The islanders who’d even speak with outsiders like that are all Hunters themselves; they’re more rational, more grounded in the town’s sense of belonging.
They also hate pirates way more, for sure.
"How many are coming?" Alka pondered the situation for a second and asked.
"Thirty-six."
"That many? They’ve virtually emptied their nest," Julia commented, eyes narrowed beside him.
They’d already figured out the exact headcount of this pirate gang. It was pretty much their entire crew.
"So not many guarding their ship, then?"
"Jason just sent word—only six left on their Pirate Ship," San answered truthfully.
Hearing this, Alka broke into a slight smile: "Then pass the news to Chadite and the others—let’s send this overconfident lot to the bottom of the sea."
San nodded and relayed Alka’s message to Lucilia on the ship.
With the help of the Treasure and some special structures from Alka, the Puppet Legion could communicate with each other.
Maybe the range isn’t limitless, but on this Island at least, it was reliable.
Seeing Pororo and the other two already ready, Alka paused to consider the numbers and the strength difference between both sides.
After a moment, he said, "Let Lucilia and Chadite bring some of the Puppet Legion to join up. Jason and Simon will take the rest and sink their ship."
The order was swiftly relayed yet again.
"These guys are dumb, but not weak."
A pirate gang with over forty members—the captain wasn’t very strong, but still Tier Three.
The rest of his officers were at the peak of Tier Two, but there were only three of them anyway.
The rest of their people were all at the Middle Position of Tier Two, and not all of them were Touched, either.
At most, a third were Touched; the rest were about as strong as local Totem Hunters, just with different methods.
When it comes to enemies with obvious hostility, Alka’s crew had already mapped out every detail.
They’d even come up with several contingency plans.
"Still, this Island is our home field, after all. I’ll act as the main bait, drag them out till night, and make sure we don’t take unnecessary losses."
Alka announced, then his figure shimmered—everyone knew this was his Dream Realm double.
Soon enough, word came from Chadite and his team—they were already in place at the chosen spots.
And the enemy was close, too, closing in right near their position.
When the pirates arrived, the first thing they saw was Alka’s crew digging at something.
