Truth Of The Forgotten Age-7-07: Knife Ears

The captain and Priestess were a little late on the arrival, but not enough for anyone to get worried.
"We apologize for being late. We slept in a bit longer than expected." The captain explained.
"It's fine." Veronica said, taking a look at the two.
It was already clear to Veronica that the captain and Priestess were a couple. The way the captain said that they were both sleeping in is one thing, but add on the hickeys on both of their necks, it couldn't just be a coincidence.
The two boarded the carriage, and the moment they sat down, the carriage started to move.
The newcomers seemed to not know what to say, as they just simply sat in silence. Cassidy had laid her head on Veronica's lap, who gently ran her fingers through the girl's hair. And Aviris stared out of the window.
Veronica, even with all her thoughts, was rather excited to go to this forest. It was her first time ever interacting with the Elves.
"Damn knife ears causing trouble again..." The captain complained.
"We don't know if they're the ones at fault. Her Royal Majesty was rather specific with her words. She claimed that there was a third party trying to restart the war." Veronica said, a slight bit annoyed at the captain's comment.
"Tch. None of this would've happened if they just stayed quiet before."
Veronica ignored her words. After all, it was possible that she has a personal vendetta against some of the Elves, and it's not like Veronica could just her mind in just a few sentences.
The priestess was at least good enough to try and calm her lover down.
"We're going for peace. Not violence. Okay, hun?"
"Sure, fine, fine."
The carriage stayed silent afterwords, no one wanting to speak, or step around eggshells. So, they all simply waited until the time came.
After a few hours, nearly noon, the carriage had stopped just outside of the forest, where a long, winding path continued on.
"My ladies, I've taken you as far as I could. Any further, and I fear we may be attacked by the Elves." The carriage driver said, opening the door.
"That's fine. We can continue walking from here." Aviris said, getting out of the carriage.
The group had exited, and the carriage had taken off, leaving the girls to have but the one option. Continue into the forest.
First one to step forward was Veronica, taking the lead of the group. The forest started off as one expected when next to the road, with a path just off of it. It was cleared, and easily navigable.
Though, as they continued further in, the less the path seemed to be clear. More brush, trees and flora. The path was lost an hour into the walk. The group was now, officially traveling l blindly.
So, they continued to push on, making sure not to make any unnecessary turns, to make sure that all they had to do was turn around to leave.
Though, none of that would matter, as an arrow whizzed by the girls, getting stuck in the ground next to them. Veronica quickly raised her hands in surrender, showing that she wasn't an immediate threat. The rest followed, not wanting to get shot.
And, soon enough, a beautiful female elf appeared in front of them, keeping a careful eye on them. Though, she didn't say a single word.
Veronica had to think of something quick, and she knew just what to say.
