What's Wrong With Being An Omega Nanny?-Chapter 139: The Avatar Video!

Chapter 139

Chapter 139: The Avatar Video!
Upstairs in the safe house, the kids’ room was filled with toys scattered on the floor, colourful posters on the walls, and a large window that let in the soft sunlight. Elias moved slowly, helping the twins get dressed for the video.
He had one sock on Dante’s foot and was fumbling with the other, his mind miles away. Viktor had left so quickly after that awkward conversation outside, dressed up like he had a date or something secret. One minute, Elias regretted ever coming to the safe house; the next, he was back to suspecting Viktor of sneaking off to meet someone else. A woman, probably... the lipstick stain still burned in his memory. Was he being paranoid? Or was there really something going on?
Dante tugged at Elias’s shirt, pulling him back to the present. Elias blinked and looked down, raising a brow.
"What is it, buddy?"
Dante tilted his head, his big eyes curious. "Are you thinking about Daddy?"
Elias denied it immediately, shaking his head a little too fast. "No, no. Why would you say that? Why would I think about him?"
Dante pointed at Elias’s hand. "Because you’re giving me different socks. That one’s blue, and this one’s green."
Elias looked down and saw the mismatch. He let out a weird, forced laugh, feeling his cheeks heat up.
*Oh, wow. They look alike, don’t they? Silly me." He walked back to the drawer, rummaging for the right pair, his mind still half on Viktor.
’How could he just leave like that, right after hearing about "her"? Is she perhaps his first love who left because their family didn’t agree to their love? And now, he wants her back?’
Dario, sitting on the bed with his shirt half-buttoned, chimed in. "If you miss Daddy, just call him. He always answers when we call."
Elias slipped the correct sock on Dante’s foot, avoiding their eyes.
"I’m not doing that because I’m not thinking about him. Now, let’s get your shirts on. Aunt Vera wants you ready soon."
The twins exchanged glances and giggled. Dante poked Elias’s arm.
, You do miss him! Your face is red, Nanny!"
"Yeah," Dario added, grinning. "Like when we eat spicy food!"
Elias tried to look stern, but a smile crept in.
"Stop teasing, you two. Or no video for you."
They kept at it, laughing and making kissy faces. "Nanny loves Daddy! Nanny loves Daddy!"
Before Elias could respond, Lila appeared in the doorway, her hands on her hips. She swatted the back of their heads lightly. "Behave, you little monsters. My brother is trying to help you, and you’re acting like puppies."
The twins rubbed their heads, pouting but quieting down. "Sorry, Lila..."
She folded her hands and turned her face away.
"Hmph! You think my brother would miss anyone? Your father doesn’t deserve my brother. You hear that?"
Elias shot her a grateful look. "Thanks. They were on a roll."
Lila smiled, stepping into the room. She was dressed in a simple but pretty gown... flowy and blue, a change from her usual jeans and tops. The twins’ eyes widened. "Whoa, Lila! You look like a princess!"
"Yeah, super pretty!" Dario agreed.
Lila twirled a bit, laughing. "Of course I’m beautiful. Are you just finding that out now? Now, sit still so my brother can finish."
Elias motioned for her to sit on a stool by the mirror.
"Come here, let me style your hair while I finish with these two."
Lila sat, handing him a brush. "Sure. Make it nice... after all, this is going to be my video debut."
"Yes, Miss Lila."
As Elias braided her hair into a neat style, the twins watched in awe.
"How do you do that?" Dante asked. "It’s like magic."
"I didn’t know girls’ hair could do that," Dario added.
Elias focused, his fingers working gently. "Ha! It’s a constant practice. I used to do Lila’s hair when we were kids."
Lila nodded. "He’s always been good at it. He’s even better than me."
Dario fidgeted with his shirt.
"Elias, if Daddy doesn’t behave, does that mean he doesn’t deserve you?"
Lila shot him a look. "Where did you hear that?"
Dario shrugged. "You said it earlier."
Lila sighed. "Well, yeah. If someone’s not treating you right, you don’t have to stick around. But Elias, you know Viktor’s not like that... right?"
Elias finished the braid, pinning it up.
"I don’t know anymore, Lila. Let’s not talk about it, especially you, Lila! There... you look great."
She checked the mirror, smiling.
"Thanks. Now, let’s go downstairs before Vera yells."
The group headed down, the twins skipping ahead. The living room and kitchen had been transformed... cameras set up, lights adjusted, ingredients laid out on the counter.
It looked even better than the Corleone setup, warmer and more homey. Vera clapped her hands.
"Perfect timing! You two look so handsome and beautiful, Lila. So, is everyone ready?"
"YES!" The boys cheered excitedly.
They started the video right away. Vera and Vale stood behind the camera, directing. "Okay, our adorable avatars... Lila, Dante and Dario... you’re on. We’ll guide you."
"We get to cook?" Dario’s eyes widened.
"I have never done it before," Dante added.
"Don’t worry, we’ll work together so you two don’t create a beautiful disaster," Lila positioned the boys at the counter. "Alright, what first, bosses?"
Vale: "Let’s start by greeting the viewers and introducing yourselves."
"Hello everyone!" The three of them waved and Lila started, doing a small curtsey.
"My name is Lila Kane."
"I’m Dante Drago."
"And I’m Dario Drago."
Vera: "Excellent guys! Now, let’s start with the first thing and that is washing the veggies. Boys, grab the tomatoes."
The twins splashed water, giggling. Lila kept them in line. "Careful, don’t flood the sink!"
As they chopped slowly (with Lila’s help), the fun ramped up. They were making a veggie stir-fry with pasta... simple but with steps that required teamwork. Dante mixed the sauce while Dario stirred the noodles.
"This is hard!" Dante complained. "Why are there too many things to add?"
Dario who was standing on a stool to reach the pot, pointed his pasta fork at Dante. "No, it’s fun! Can’t you see our great teamwork? Right, Lila?"
Lila laughed. "Yes, yes. I can see it. Complicated dishes are best. It makes us work together."
Vera and Vale exchanged glances with each other and tried not to laugh loudly. They were enjoying this, even if it’s a mini disaster.
"Don’t stir too much. It’s going to be undercooked. That’s enough."
"Lila is right. It’s time for the veggies," Vera clapped her hands.
Lila brought the bowl of chopped vegetables closer to the frying pan.
Dante wrinkled his nose at the greens. "I hate vegetables."
Dario lifted his hands. "I love them! They make you strong."
They turned to Lila who was about to start frying while listening to Vale. "What about you?"
She looked away for a few seconds.
"Why do you think I’m taller than you two? I eat tons of veggies."
Dante pouted. "If I eat a lot, will I be as tall as you?"
Lila: "No."
"Why?" he whined.
"Because I’ll get even taller before you catch up."
Vera and Vale burst out laughing from behind the camera. "That’s gold!"
Dario joined in, and Elias, watching from the side, chuckled too. It was wholesome, the kids’ energy infectious.
The shoot stretched for three or four hours... mixing, stirring, tasting halfway. They remixed the sauces when the twins over-salted one.
"Oops!" Dante said.
Lila: "That’s okay... learning curve."
They were finally done after a long disaster.
"Tasting time! Elias, your turn."
Elias sat at the table, fork ready. He looked at the meal, twirling the plate to see the other side and also to show it to the camera.
"Looks pretty," he said and took a bite, chewing slowly, making dramatic moans. "Hmm... mmm..."
The group waited in suspense, eyes wide. "Is it good?" Dario asked.
"Is it not good? Why is he wincing?"
Elias dragged it out, then grabbed paper and marker, writing ’95%’. "Tasted perfect!"
Cheers erupted. Vera clapped. "Yay!"
Lila: "If perfect, why 95%?"
Elias rubbed his stomach. "The other 5% is for me... room for dessert."
More laughter. Vale and Vera wrapped up, everyone waving at the camera. "... and thanks for watching!"
They ate the meal they had prepared for dinner. They were all tired but happy. Elias felt dizzy, worried about the grandpa but shook it off. "They’re Corleones, of course I won’t see them again." He headed to bed, dozing off fast.
.
.
Meanwhile, the Grandpa woke up hours ago. After meds and meals, the guards told him everything that had happened. The collapse, Elias saving him, his granddaughters refusing to donate blood and then, Elias donating.
"That stranger has the same blood group as I. That’s... suspicious. And you say my granddaughters refused to donate for me?"
"Yes Master, they refused."
"Ha! I’m not even surprised."
Curious, he ordered...
"Find that boy. Bring him to me for compensation."
"As you wish..." Guards bowed, excited. It was their first order in twenty years. "We’ll bring him without fail."
