Chapter 83: Let’s Go Meet Our Son-in-law!
A few minutes before Nathan texted Viktor, he got to the club. Since the club was mostly active during the night, he just hung around, drinking while scrolling through the media.
His friend owned the club, so he could do whatever he wanted. He didn’t sit with girls like he always did and that was because he needed to find a way to contact Elias. He sent him a bunch of texts, but Elias wasn’t responding.
"Fuck!" He cussed and sighed as he sipped from the jug of beer.
"Fuck? You’re really cursing in my club. It’s been a while since you were here. Wasn’t it a year ago?" His friend, Ricky, asked as he entered with a bunch of girls.
Nathan started at the ladies and ignored them and his friend. He turned his phone back on and kept zooming in to stare at Elias’s face.
"Why won’t he return my text? Did he block me?" He mumbled.
Ricky saw that there was something bothering his friend, so he sent the ladies back and closed the door.
"It’s the first time I’ve seen you wearing a worried expression. Is something the matter? Did an A-list celebrity break your heart or something?" Ricky teased but Nathan didn’t smile at his joke.
He faced the picture at Ricky and asked...
"Do you know this person?"
"Huh?" Ricky squinted his eyes as he pulled his head back to take a proper look. "I don’t know him. Who is he? Did he steal something of yours?"
"Yes," Nathan answered.
"Oh! Then, you should send the cops after him. My uncle is really good,"
"You mean, the same uncle who takes bribes from you whenever you do illegal stuff at the club?" Nathan smirked.
Ricky shamelessly nodded his head.
"He might be corrupt, but he’s good,"
’Is that something to be proud of? Brat!’
He thought to himself and looked back at his phone. A message suddenly entered his phone and his eyes widened. He thought it was a response from Elias but it was his father’s secretary.
Sec:
Young Master, I’ve sent the information I could gather about this person. (Attached file)
Nathan wasted no time opening it. He just couldn’t wait to see his address so he would show up at his doorstep with the hoodie and maybe a bouquet of flowers. Nathan could already imagine himself handing the flower over to Elias and Elias smiling at him.
He waited for the file to download and finally, he clicked open.
He saw Elias’s photo and other information, like his name, age, school attended and other information. The address in the file was... Voss estate.
"Huh? Voss estate?" He asked himself and continued reading. "Last seen... At the matching centre for a matching test," he read aloud and rubbed his chin."
"Oh! He went there for a matching test? Huh? Wait a second! Why? I hope it’s not what I’m thinking..."
He changed the tab to phone and called Dr Patel’s number. He answered the call within three seconds.
"You brat! How dare you run away?" His father’s voice echoed through the phone. "Do you know the opportunity you just missed? I should definitely sign a contract with the devil and curse you! Ah... My back,"
"President, calm down!" Dr Patel’s voice finally came through.
"That boy will not be the end of me," his father complained again but Nathan didn’t care about that. He didn’t call to hear his father’s voice.
"Dr Patel, could I ask for the name of my test partner?"
"Huh? Why would you want to know that?"
"Just tell me. Please..." He added.
Dr Patel exchanged glances with the president as if he were asking for permission. The president waved his hand dismissively.
"Go ahead and tell him. He already lost his chances,"
"Yes, president," Dr Patel said and turned back to the phone. "Uh, young master... His name is Elias Kane,"
"Elias... Kane?" Nathan repeated the name and went to check the information his father’s assistant sent to him for Elias’s surname and it was indeed the same. "No way..."
He whispered and Dr Patel heard his voice.
"Are you alright, young master? You haven’t been kidnapped again, have you?"
"Hold on doctor! Can you call him back? I’ll return to the centre immediately for a test! I’m ready to do it with him," Nathan stood up, already preparing to leave but the next words allowed him to sink back into the chair.
"It’s not possible. Elias said he doesn’t want anything to do with the son of a wealthy man. He wants someone ordinary,"
"Why? Damn it! This is my father’s fault! Why does he have to be rich? Should I make a contract with a demon and curse him to become poor?"
Dr Patel let out a sigh. He didn’t know what to do about this father-son duo.
"There’s no such thing as a contract with a demon or a devil, Young Master. I’m afraid, I can’t call him back. So, you should give up," Dr Patel shook his head and then scratched the back of his head. "Besides that, why did you ask for his name?"
"He... Elias Kane is my saviour!" He yelled. "He’s the one who saved my life a few days ago,"
The doctor’s eyes widened, and so did the president, who heard his son’s loud voice.
"Huh? That kid saved my son? Why am I just hearing about this?" He asked.
"Father! If you can hear me, do everything you can to make him do the test with me. I’ll do whatever you want as long as it’s him. I’ll no longer travel or return for my vacation. I’ll marry him if you want, father!"
The president’s eyes widened in shock when he heard his son say those words. It was something he never thought Nathan would say. Nathan, who wasn’t interested in starting a family, said he was ready to marry Elias Kane.
"I hope you don’t go back on your words, brat!" He smirked and Dr Patel disconnected the call. "Where is that kid currently living?"
"The Voss estate, president," the doctor said.
The President sprang up from his chair to grab his suit jacket.
"Voss estate? Why hasn’t he moved to the Omega estate?"
"He hasn’t signed the contract yet," the doctor answered and the president buttoned up.
"I see. Well, get ready, we’re heading there," he said, walking towards the door, and a confused Patel tilted his head.
"Heading where? The omega estate?"
"The Voss estate. I have to go see my future son-in-law," he grinned as he left his office. Dr Patel froze in his spot. He silently wished that the ground would open up and swallow him.
’I don’t want to get involved in this father-son fight,’
.
Meanwhile, Nathan, who was feeling disappointed in himself for missing the test, told his friend everything. Ricky couldn’t fully understand why Nathan would want to marry the person he had met a few days ago.
He knew Nathan. Nathan had dated a bunch of ladies for over three months. The longest he had been in a relationship was three months and five days, but this time, it wasn’t even up to two weeks. And also...
"You said he’s a man. You’ve never been in a relationship with a man before," Ricky reminded him, but Nathan shrugged, gulping his beer from the jug before setting it on the table.
"I don’t mind being in a relationship with Elias. He’s my saviour after all," he started to fill the jug again.
"Aren’t you getting a bit obsessed?" Ricky frowned.
"Am I? Well, there’s no way you can understand," Nathan smirked and Ricky stood up.
"It’s late now. I’d better go start opening the club. The other guys would join us soon. You’d better not thrash the place,"
"Sure, sure... Just send more beer and maybe some champagne,"
"Tsk!" Ricky tutted as he left. Nathan then picked up his phone and sent those texts to Viktor. The chat was quick and going smoothly till he sent the last one.
N:
I’m so stupid, Vik! I shouldn’t have run away. I had no idea my partner was my saviour!
He rubbed his chin, waiting for Viktor’s response.
"Is he busy? Maybe he’s dealing with something important, I shouldn’t disturb him," he said and placed his phone down.
"I just have to leave it to Father to handle the rest. That old man would do anything to see me get married and I’m sure if they tell my saviour that it’s me, his test partner all along was his charming Nathan, he would reconsider and want to take the test with me." He smiled at his idea and patted his shoulder with his right hand.
"Nice one, Nathan," he was already getting tipsy. "You’re so smart,"
His phone suddenly vibrated again and finally, a response came from Viktor. He lifted his phone and furrowed his brows when he saw the text.
"Huh? What is he on about? Why did Viktor send this message?"
